Did not have breakfast and meeting friends. Room large and v comfortable. my husband worked from the room. Pool was lovely and steam room. Staff at reception v helpful. Bar staff scarce and may need further training but there was party on in hotel. great having water option like sparkling and double filtered in corridor.

Bar was v slow and had to ask other staff for cocktails and drinks info. cold area away from fire.

The rooms themselves were nice and comfortable with quality facilities overall. It’s located in a quiet area that’s a short walk from downtown.

I thought this was pretty expensive for what it was but we had limited options for the time of year. There was also not enough staff in the bar restaurant/hotel. I’ve truly never seen service like it and I can’t fault the staff doing their best but management should consider hiring a few more people to cover the amount of guests and speed up wait times for drinks and dinner. Also Despite being perfectly nice rooms they gave my one of our party the only queen size room in the building and called it a King - the room itself was fine but feel like we couldn’t payed slightly less for a slightly smaller room.

Beds are extremely comfortable. Rooms very clean and reception staff very friendly and helpful. Good location.

Breakfast was a bit of a disaster having to follow staff around to look for normal items like butter and spoons. Was sent from one person to another to get butter for table and at one stage 3 people queuing waiting for someone to get us butter from the kitchen. Staff just didn't seem interested . One staff member told us he didn't have spoons to go and ask someone else. Pity dining experience such a let down as hotel is lovely otherwise

The staff throughout the hotel were extremely friendly especially the cleaning staff. Unfortunately due a family bereavement we had to check out on Friday evening instead of Saturday. When we went to check out there was 3 reception members on duty and they appeared to be shocked we were checking out I explained the reason but to be honest none of the 3 cared, we paid the full amount . there was some glitch with the system they all looked into the screen sorted it and never asked did we enjoy our stay very evident they didn’t care . Having previously worked in the hospitality sector myself I think it was a big failing. I then had to return to the desk with the parking ticket to be validated and again there was no conversation.

The view from the room was extremely grim and disappointing who wants to pay to look out at a walk. Do not book a room through booking.com without asking for a view.

Location is perfect

When we arrived information was limited no details where anything was , as a couple celebrating a few occasions together rooms are not very romantic for the price of the rooms, the bar man was so under pressure we waited a long time to be served also we wanted dessert nobody came with a menu we waited nearly an hour so didn't get any and then waited at the bar again to pay disappointed, but it was no fault of the bar man , the hotel itself is lovely and would be worth another stay but very expensive for what yous offer, need to get information of guests as what brings them to the hotel when paying so much for a room guests need to feel special

Good location, a large double room that had recently been redecorated. Good sized breakfast area is able to easily cope with a large number of clients. The food, served as a buffet, was good quality offering a large choice. The spa was good fun take your own hair cap if you want to swim! The bar is well staffed and quite reasonably priced. There is an underground car park, which is good secure and good value at €12.

One pet niggle with such a good breakfast area please buy a new toaster! All the guests I spoke to were frustrated it didn't work properly, still it did allow some interesting conversation over toast waiting!

Beautiful hotel and friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing but dinner wasn’t as good as I expected. Ordered steak which was very underwhelming for nearly 40 euro nothing on the plate that cheered it up looked like a 6oz steak with a bit of goo (minced mushroom puree) in half a red onion. Very disappointing. My mum had chowder as her main and she said it wasn’t nice she left half. We also waited a while on it and most of our dinner was just warm. One sent back her lamb dish as it was cold in the middle. Staff replaced it tho and that was the nicest dinner on the table. We waited a while on everything so didn’t stay for desert as 40 other guesses arrived for dinner and I think we got overlooked because of them. We all used the spa facilities, treatments were amazing however again I was a little disappointed the no robe was offered beforehand especially to my mother who was getting her first ever facial and had everything done in her jumper and clothes. So when she came out to met us in thermal relaxing room she was fully dressed and we left not long after that as she didn’t want to go back in and get changed. I never got offered my robe before hand either, I did after facial. I think you should be stripped and in robe and slippers before starting any treatment as more relaxing.

One lift was broke and my mum was in a wheelchair so other lift was always busy.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and professional. The ambience and location of the hotel is excellent.

The only disappointment was the breakfast. The cooked breakfast was cold. There was a lack of choice in the breads and pastries and I would have liked more variety in the fruit on offer.

Fabulous location, stunning hotel. Had one of the best sleeps ever!

The only thing was we were there for the graduation but I had been unwell the few days before so appetite wasn’t there. I had known there was a “graduation dinner” of some sorts that could be booked, for either a 2 or 3 course meal before the graduation. However we just wanted say a portion of chips each (again hadn’t the appetite for any more unfortunately due to being unwell). So I asked when we waited to be seated could we just do that….i was met with a blank stare and a nod of the head for a no. Surely it makes no odds (seeing as we had also already stayed, paid for a room and also paid for dinner for 4 people the night before)…but no, were literally told we could not sit and order something small…

We enjoyed our stay at the Galmont. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was good, with a range of options available. The breakfast is €15pp if you pre-book it - we booked breakfast at reception the night before each breakfast. The pool facilities were clean - access to the pool is free of charge for hotel guests. The staff were friendly. The hotel is in a good location for access to Eyre Square. The underground parking is €12 per night.

The coffee from the coffee machine at breakfast was not great. However, perhaps it was just not to our tastes. There’s a cafe close to the hotel - I think it’s called “Top Shelf” - which serves much better coffee.
