The way I review things is based on my expectations. At the price point and with everything clearly described in the listing I cannot find fault. Yes there are steps, but the ad says no elevator, it’s slightly noisy but you should know this at the location you have chosen. It’s at the lower price point of one night stays in this location so all things considered it’s a perfect spot. Location couldn’t be better. Perfect 1 night stay

Nothing I shouldn’t expect at the price point location and given the photos and description I had when booking.

I was lucky enough to have the room overlooking the Duomo, so that felt very special. The reception staff are all very pleasant and helpful on arrival. The room itself is spacious and comfortable. I noted there is an aircon unit in my room which could be a big bonus when hot (it wasn't needed for my stay in April). There is also a fridge which is very useful. The guesthouse is placed very centrally which is a massive bonus as you can pop back in for a rest (or escape from the crowds) during the day, if you need.

The room could benefit from a pair of wine glasses or any glasses (for water, if not wine). Some rooms are accessible via a lot of stairs (so be prepared if you have large luggage or unfit). There is no lift. The chambermaid daily service wasn't very adequate. No refreshing of room tea/coffee.

location to sites and distance to train station was fantastic, we walked everywhere during our stay. supermarket was across the street for provisions. we stayed in room six with balcony overlooking the Duomo roof. we had our own bathroom within our room which was spacious. check in was quick and easy. some rooms are located by the area of reception on one of the levels and then other rooms are located two floors up on another level.

for those with respiratory problems or difficulty with stairs would suggest you stay elsewhere. we loved this stay and room 6 was worth the 80 stairs up because view was amazing and room lovely. my husband and I are 60 and we just rested half way up.

the location was the start of the stay. round the corner form the main cathedral and just 10 min walk from the main station. heaps of cafes and restaurants around the area. all within walking distance. the room was old but with high ceiling which made it authentic for us.

The location was steps away from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and Baptistery of St. John, which has a beautiful plaza and in the center of florence with shopping, delicious restaurants, cafes and gelato shops. The room was spacious for a family of 4 with an updated bathroom. It was clean and had character with some old-world charm. You can't beat the value with this location and facilities.The ones who helped us with checking in and during the stay were friendly and amazing. They were always so helpful with where to go, restaurant recommendations, and luggage.

I liked everything.

The location is very central a few steps away from the Duomo. Every other main attraction of the city is easily within reach. The area is busy and rather noisy till late but we didn't mind hearing the sounds of live music in the piazza and chattering of passers by; after all we were on holiday for a few days, so this did not bother us. The guesthouse is old, amenities are basic but sufficient, the room included a private bathroom and general level of cleanliness is good. Housekeeping is good and towels are changed daily. The room was comfortable in the sense that it was private and I could even go out at 5.30am without disturbing or bothering anyon. We could also keep luggage at reception on checkout which gave us the possibility of a few more hours before we departing Florence. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Guesthouse Bel Duomo and would highly recommend it for the good reasons given above.

The bathroom was a bit smelly at times (drainage) which would necessitate keeping the door closed so that the smell won't disperse in the bedroom. The kitchen hob was out of order although we didn't really need to use it, except for an electric kettle that was actually available (but maybe for others the hob might come in handy).

Dear Giulio, It's me Laurentia, I am very grateful to you, for picking me up at the station (because I would have cried, if you hadn't picked me up) - I am happy to stay at your hotel - Hotel close to many attractions in Florence - Lots of food around the hotel - The view from my window is beautiful (Duomo Dome) However, if I may suggest, I hope that in the future your hotel will have an elevator. The location is absolutely amazing! The place is quite little, but very charming. It was very clean and we had a lovely vacation in Firenze. To be this close to everything was exceptional. Next time we will book the room with the Duomo view for sure. Giulio was a lovely host. :)

-There is nothing we didn’t like, but if you’re a bit if a fussy traveller you should note that for some rooms, the bathroom is outside the room (we had no problems with this, it was still very private). - Before booking, you should also take into consideration that there are some steep stairs to climb before getting to the apartment and no elevator. Again, for us this was not an issue but if you’re less mobile, this is something to note.

The location was simply so great. The staff was very polite.

I stayed in a windowless room. I think, they had already set a suitable price for it. I think it was a perfect price-performance room, so I booked it knowingly. The only problem was rainy night. There was a system on the ceiling of the room for ventilation. When it rained, the dripping sounds from this system were a bit loud. The reason I say this, the business maybe can find a solution to this problem.

The fact that the Duomo was right outside the window was simply AMAZING! We slept with the outer door open all night so that when we woke in the morning that was the first thing we saw!

The only warning would be that there are a LOT of stairs. My sister and I were totally prepared for them however, and we needed a way to work off all of the gelato we were eating! Anyone with mobility issues however should take heed.
