The location of the hotel was very special. Being able to open the windows and look onto the square with the Duomo was wonderful, particularly early in the morning and then again as the sun set. It was great to listen to the 'hum' down on the square but to be able to escape the busy crowds below! Our hotel room (number 3) was very spacious with high ceilings, lots of character and two large windows. The beds were comfy. Our bathroom was across the hallway but it was clean and we expected this from the description. For a 'budget' hotel, it was really a very positive experience. There is a small elevator to get your bags up the stairs. The host was friendly.

It didn't bother us, but the square is inevitably quite noisy with tourists and musicians, until quite late at night. There was a man playing the guitar outside the restaurant below our window until around 12pm each night. And then the bells from the Duomo early in the mornings. So just bring ear-plugs if you're a light sleeper. For us it just added more fun and charm to the experience! :)

Albergo San Giovanni is literal steps away from the city center. You will hear the bells of the Duomo ring in the morning. You will hear the musicians busking in the streets below. It's a ten minute walk from most places you want to visit. Additionally, for the time of the year that I spent here, the price for the stay was incredibly affordable. I would stay here again, just for its proximity to the liveliness of Florence's city center.

The shower in the shared bathroom was very small, but I think that's just the case for most showers in Italy. My door also was a bit difficult to open and shut. I felt like I made so much noise trying to get in and out of the room. There was a small fridge in the room, but it wasn't strong enough to keep food cold. Finally, because of its proximity to the city center, it'll be noisy, so if you're planning to go to sleep early, you may want to bring some noise cancelling headphones or earplugs.

Apartment No. 4 had the most fantastic view you could ever ask for. Everything—museums, restaurants, exhibitions, and cafes—was just a 5-minute walk from the apartment. It was safe, and the staff was very friendly. I would recommend it to all my friends! This will always be the place I return to whenever I stay in Florence.

The apartment could use some renovations, although they’ve maintained the classic Italian style. The shared bathroom was a bit of an issue, but it was clean. Overall, it’s good value for money.

The location was excellent, and the owner? was a very friendly guy, it's cool how the building is 700 years old too. The beds were also so comfy, and the pillows were great too! The room was very big!

Nothing really, for the price, it was brilliant. Considering there are hotels charging triple the price for the same views around this area, you can't get better at this price point. The only thing I'd possibly mention to improve is the showers, they were a little bit dirty and it got blocked quickly too whilst using the shower... But not a huge deal.

Amazing location and the staff were super friendly. Very easy to check in outside of check in hours, as our plane only landed at 11pm. The room was beautiful and spacious and even though the bathrooms were shared with the other guests, we had no problem going in there as many times as we needed. Once again, cannot stress enough how great the location is as you see the monuments right in front of your window. I will definitely come back !

Location on Duomo couldn’t be faulted, a walk from everything. Located in a Beautiful historical 16th palace, the building was lovely! Great big room (6), fresco on ceiling, bed so comfortable. And table and chairs so we could come back from city sightseeing during day to have a little supermarket lunch in room. Felt very lucky to be able to stay here. Fan provided, appreciated.

Nothing. No facilities as such like breakfast, kettle, if that’s what you want, made no difference to us.

The location cannot be any better! So close to everything, so scenic, lovely view out of the window. Also, we enjoyed the quaintness and historical relevance of the room. You felt like you were back in time in Firenze. Also, there was a small lift, which was very helpful for luggage and people with bad knees (like us!)

One of the beds was firmer than we usually like, but this is definitely a personal thing.

68 steps from the front gate of the hotel to the Baptistry absolutely phenomenal location. Second floor location a little quirky with a tiny elevator but overall as value for money thi is a diamond of a property

WiFi signal didn't get to out room but was fine in the general areas. 4G phone signal in the centre of florence is a bit patchy too so can be a little inconvenient but only a minor problem

Very friendly and helpful receptionists and staff, nice room, great location. The lift is really cool:) Shopping is within easy reach. Thanks for everything!

It would be a big improvement if there was at least a tiny corner in the hallway with a microwave for heating and a kettle. Perhaps a better working fridge in the room. We would come back because otherwise it's a great place!

The location of this hotel can't be beat! It's located in the heart of Florence, and most sights are a short walk away. I stayed at San Giovanni on a 97° day, and although my room had no air conditioning, it was still rather cool. I had a shared bathroom, but had no issues with it's cleanliness or availability. I found the hotel to be very quiet, even though it was fully booked. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel!
