Great location, only 5 minutes to Duomo, 5 minutes to the train station, hop on hop off stop and other important buildings. The hotel personnel is on very high level - very helpful, as we entered the hotel we received maps of the city, great explanation of the city sightseeings, advices for places to see, and we asked and received advices for typical places to eat. The hotel interior is impressive with the fresco paintings and furniture and architectural elements that immediately put you back in the Italian renaissance. Our room had fresco painting on the ceiling which was just fascinating. Bathroom had everything needed, clean, the air conditioner was perfect. The room was very big and comfortable. For the people stayed with cars there is great parking next to the hotel, which is huge plus for people with cars. I will come back.

Great location - very central to all tourist sites. Historic building the hotel is located in makes you experience the ambiance of the city without even stepping out. The receptionist (Julia) was extremely friendly and helpful. She asked my schedule for the stay and marked all sightseeing spots on map to make it easy for me to navigate, and she also recommended restaurants as well as signature dishes for me to try. Cannot be more grateful for her help that had made my stay more enjoyable!

Be aware of the mosquitos in the room!! Perhaps bring insect bite relief for the trip

Beautiful courtyard building with nice decor and many cute little nooks in the interior for your to relax, I am in love with this hotel. The room is small, compact and very clean, comfortable bed and quiet, perfect for a short stay. I also love the receptionist and the owner (?), they’re very friendly and attentive, quick to response as well when I needed something, very welcoming. Location is also perfect, it’s just steps away from the train station, super walkable to many attraction like the santa maria church. As a first time traveller to Italy (and Europe), grazie mille for a wonderful stay. I love Florence and this hotel!

What a gorgeous hotel right in the heart of Florence. The Birchianti has a 400 year history, firstly a family home, and then converted into a school until 1976. The hotel is situated on the first floor of this beautiful building, just a couple of minutes walk from the main palazzo. A small hotel of just 11 rooms, each unique and packed with orginal features. The modernisations have been done very sympathetically, providing excellent bathroom facilities and soundproof windows. The main reception room accomodates reception staff, a small lounge area and 4 breakfast tables, with which to enjoy a leisurely breakfast admiring the gorgeous orginal painted ceiling and stylish decor. Each bedroom is unique with its own fresco ceiling and antique furniture. All very clean, with great bathroom facilities, one of the best showers we have seen in a hotel. There is both airconditioning and heating in the rooms. The staff at this hotel are superb. On arrivial Adelina gave us a map and a very extensive guide of Florence, which proved useful during our stay. Her suggestion for a good gelato was spot on "there is always a queue, but worth the wait" was absolutely correct, we would have been put off by the queue without the advice. I woud advise pre-booking for major sights, ticket queues were long and many attractions have a daily limit, which sold out quickly. Getting to galleries early in the morning is also advantageous. Both Marco and Adelina provided 5 star service, and could not do enough for us over our stay. We can not thank you enough for making our first time Florence so enjoyable. Adeleina told us on arrival we would love Florence, we certainly did fall completley in love with Florence,

There was absolutely nothing to dislike about the Birchianti.

After hours check-in was easy, and the morning staff was wonderful with recommendations and access to coffee, juice and water. The location is great, walking distance to the Medici Chapels, the Duomo, and Ponte Vecchio. I didn't need a car or even to use the public transit for the whole trip. Easy access to the SNM Central Train Station.

The bathroom was a bit tight. Would have been easier if there were a pocket door instead of the folding one. I get it that the room was for one person, but could have used just a bit more space to stretch my arms out in the shower.

The location of the hotel is absolutely ideal, only 200 meters from Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, and within 1 km from Uffizi Gallery and Accademia Gallery. Most attractions can be reached on foot. The reception desk staff is an elegant and refined old man. He is very considerate and attentive, providing us with thoughtful service. He has also been to China and Shanghai. This trip to Florence made my family very satisfied.

The room was not as large as I expected, although the mural on the ceiling was really beautiful. But the room I stayed in was a part of a complete room, so part of the mural was above the next room. There was no window in the room, so the ventilation was poor. The facilities were a bit old. The shower room was too small, so I couldn't enjoy every shower. It is worth noting that the reception desk of this hotel is not on the ground floor, but on the first floor, which may not be easy to find according to the address. You need to ring the doorbell to request to open the gate on the ground floor, and then go up to the first floor to find the reception desk.

Everything! The staff service was superlative...above and beyond expectations. They were discrete, welcoming, helpful with introduction to Florence and luggage issues, directions to train station and general information. Location is excellent. Breakfast was very adequate. Our room was very special and unique, and really enhanced our experience of Florence.

Nothing. But a little help with directions would have been helpful. We could not find the hotel entrance, nor could another couple we found wandering on the same street on check-in day! Also want to mention that one of our beds in our Junior suite was not made up (no sheets or pillows), therefore we just shared the bedding from the other bed. Staff were not on site when we discovered this late at night.

Fabulous room, very spacious and exceptionally clean. Coffee & water available in reception which was only a few steps from our room was available 24/7. The continental breakfast was great with individual servings. A beautiful historic boutique hotel in the heart of the city with walking distance to all the historic sights. The hotel was made all the better with the wonderful staff. Very peaceful / quiet.

The bed and pillows were rather firm but this is a matter of taste, although the bed was huge.

breakfast was not nutritional and had just cheap supermarket yogurts, cereals and couple fruits. but it is not a big issue, just don't include it in the stay

The hotel is great in all aspect. It is located right in the heart of Florence, a few walk away from the tram stop from/to the airport and the Duomo. Has great restaurants and shops surrounding the area too. The staffs were lovely, hospitable, and helpful. They ensured that I had a smooth check-in and check-out process and a very pleasant stay. The room is absolutely great and comfortable, and what’s also awesome is the interior of the hotel. Both the hotel and the room were always kept clean. My experience definitely exceeded my expectation; so much that after a long day of sightseeing and exploring Florence, I looked forward to go back to the hotel and enjoy my stay!
