This hotel was super convenient to the train station and an easy walk from many of the main attractions in Florence. We also loved the restaurant adjacent to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating--we were able to check in early and leave our bags after we checked out. We also felt very secure with the monitored door and the code required after hours. Our room was large and the bathroom was also large, especially compared to other hotels in Italy.

The shower was the tiniest shower I've ever used, and I'm even including showering in RV campers. Additionally, the addition of the rain shower feature would be nice in a normal-sized shower, but the apparatus protruded from the shower wall in an already cramped shower, so that when trying to bathe, a person keeps accidentally bumping into the lever and changing the water temperature! It was a horrible design and we are small people, so I can't imagine how a larger person would cope. One other complaint I have is the mattress. It was not as hard as other mattresses I unfortunately experienced in Italy, but it had a pretty extreme depression in the mattress that made my back ache after sleeping in it. The mattress really needs to be replaced.

It looked like the hotel had recently changed names (Hotel Deco signs were still up). It is close to the train station, and the city centre is in easy walking distance. Secure entry, you have to be buzzed in or use a key code, lift for access to the upper floors. Room and bathroom were a decent size. Mattress was comfortable. Reception staff and cleaners were very helpful when my friend was taken ill and we had an issue with the air con. Ok for a budget hotel.

Downsides, the whole place is a bit tired and grubby. It was cleaned daily, probably needed a deep clean or refurb. There wasn't much storage space. The air conditioning unit broke our second night. The reception staff did give me a small fan for the night. Pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable, need replacing.

It was perfectly located, great to hop on and off from Firenze Train station. The room was big and very clean. The staff had the courtesy of leaving the AC on prior to our arrival making a very pleasant arrival. The room was as pictures describe it.

Our room was located in the first floor but you couldn’t take the elevator to it, that was a big downside for my pregnant wife and on top of that to have to carry the suitcase. Some rooms you can use the elevator but some you can’t.

I loved the staff. The young girl with the eyeglasses at the reception had a heartwarming welcome for us and was more than willing to give us any information needed. She was really hospitable and made us feel at home. The hotel was perfectly located at the center of Florence. It was a 5 minute walk from the central train station and 5-6 minutes from the Duomo Cathedral on foot. Everything was around. It was clean and neat.

I wish there was a second mirror in the room for saving time. One person could make use of the mirror in the toilet, and the other one could make use of the mirror in the room for time-saving reasons.

The location was ideal - only a few minutes walk from the central railway station (Santa Maria Novella) and within easy reach of all the interesting parts of the city. It wasn't a quiet part of the city, but I didn't want it to be: I like to hear plenty of everyday activity going on around me. I always like to be in the thick of things. Absolute silence gets on my nerves. It was lovely being able to look from the window of my room out onto the busy Via Panzani. And the beautiful Piazza S. Maria Novella was just round the corner.

It would have been nice if breakfast had been included, but there were at least three excellent bars very close to the hotel, where I could have a delicious cornetto and a caffè latte for breakfast each morning.

FANTASTIC LOCATION - just a 2mins walk from the Unita tram stop, Santa Maria Novella train station is about a 5mins walk. Duomo is a few mins walk away, and most attractions are walkable from the hotel. Room was small but comfortable and clean. Staff are warm, friendly and helpful, will definitely stay here again on my return

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Train Station Santa Maria Novella and a very short walk for almost every tourist sight of the city. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, warm and clean. The price/quality ratio is worth it.

We found the door not fully closed by the cleaning staff after leaving for two days in a row. The building looked safe but I would prefer for them to have closed it. The last day the cleaning staff had removed the used feet towel and hadn't replaced it with a new one. The building does not have an elevator. The stairs were not a problem for us but it might be if you have heavy baggage or children.

Very friendly and positive staff, we felt very welcomed. The receptionist even changed our room so we could access it with an elevator (we had 2 big suitcases). The room was spacious and comfortable, AC was working perfectly. The location is great, too. Just a few steps away from the Medici chapel and a short walk away from the Duomo.

Hotel Spagna is very centrally located in Florence, and it only takes a few minutes to get to the train station by foot. Arriving by car was not the easiest, but we did find a car park very close by. Our room was clean and tidy, and the air conditioning worked well. Florence is a very beautiful city and it was very easy to reach all of the main tourist destinations from the hotel by foot. If you have time, I recommend that you visit the leaning tower of Pisa, which is easy to reach by train.

My only negative was that we were unable to tune the television into any channels, but that was not a big issue for us.

Central location. Less than 10 min walk from the train station. Easy to find, and very friendly staff. Allowed us to drop our bags off so we could explore Florence before checking in. Good central location, walking distance to the church, museums, and all the main tourist spots. Nice big size family room, good comfy bed and pillows.
