Charming family owned and operated hotel in a great location - rooms have recently been completely renovated and are like new (many have great views over Florence), located at Plaza della Liberta with many shops and a wide range of great restaurants nearby and trams to the Centre outside the front door. I am disabled and the staff are a great help as they are to all guests - I have stayed here many times and regard it as my home in Florence. I cannot recommend it highly enough - it is away from the main tourist traffic but is easy to get to wherever you may want to go.

My room was of a decent size, with plenty of spaces (drawers etc.) to put my clothes and other articles. The bathroom was fine and adequate. There was a mini-fridge in the room, which I found useful, also a table and chair where I could sit and write. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The location is rather far out from the city centre, right at the end of Via Cavour, but I didn’t mind that, and there is a regular and efficient bus service (No. 11) between Via Fra Bartolommeo, just off Viale Matteotti round the corner to the right, and the central station, Firenze SMN. Round the corner to the left, under the arches in Piazza della Libertà, there is a superb bar called Caffè Lietta, where I was able to have breakfast every morning (except on Sunday): they do delicious cornettti and wonderful cappuccini.

We had an amazing experience at this hotel. The rooms were clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. The location is perfect – quiet yet very close to the city center and all the main attractions. What truly made our stay special was the incredibly kind and helpful staff. They were always available and made us feel very welcome. Everything was just perfect – we would definitely come back and highly recommend Hotel Genzianella to anyone visiting Florence!

The room was super clean and beds were comfortable

Do not expect a hotel. I had a fright when we arrived as you enter the supposed hotel through the entrance of an old Palazzo. You find a very old small elevator which takes you to the third floor. Once you enter you find a long corridor with rooms along. However. We had a big room with an AC, a refrigerator, big private bathroom and was super clean. We always look for clean hotels with room commodities. Nevertheless, the elevator was a bit bizarre.

The host was very helpful, showed us everything and made sure that we have no trouble accessing the building and our room He was accommodating to our very early check-out time. The room had everything and was clean. There's even a coffee machine, microwave and vending machine at the hotel. The room was equipped with a kettle and tea. Good value for the price There is a tram and a bus stop nearby, great location.

The room was clean and the location itself is ideal. The bed is super comfortable, there's air conditioning and the room was completely dark at night. The hotel is close to the city centre and to nice restaurants. It's a very dog-friendly place with lovely staff and they even switched back to Italian so I could improve my Italian. Grazie mille e a presto!

However, a few tips for travelers: Currently, there's a lot of construction work going on so it's not quite as straightforward to get there as it normally would be but that's not the hotel's fault. Careful if you have a lot of luggage: The lift is tiny (possibly the tiniest I've ever seen) and the hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building.

The character of the room with a balcony was fantastic for us. Very high ceilings, tall, tall door windows. We're a family of 3, and the single bed was as comfortable as the double. We could see the sun set from our room and the balcony had a cute little table and chairs with lots of plants.

I wish I had stayed longer!

Very understanding welcoming staff, they changed our room immediately when we had a little inconvenience. Room is clean, perfect place to stay for a short trip in Florence. Wonderful location, close to everything. I don’t think you will find better place for the money you pay, so I recommended 👌🏻🇮🇹❤️

We're a simple family! We don't need much to be satisfied! The room is clean . The location is great, in walking distance of the city centre. We are really impressed with very polite and pleasant staff! 10 out of 10! All recommendations!

The receptionist was very kind and funny, literally the kindest man i’ve ever met😭. it’s the classic hotel you’d book if you have in mind to only get in the hotel at the end of the day just to sleep, but if you use it for this purpose it’s very good.

the shower would fill up very easily and sometimes there would be water all over the bathroom floor
