Did not opt for breakfast. The location is just opposite the Colosseum so it has a lot of options in terms of breakfast places.

It would have been great if the listing mentioned which room has the Colosseum view and which does not. My room was very comfortable, but if the listing mentioned which room had a view, then I would definitely book that one instead.

The best possible location in Rome only 30seconds walk to the coliseum. The room was spacious and clean with a smart TV. The soundproofing is really excellent- even with fireworks going on outside we could barely hear any street noise in the room. Staff were friendly and even gave us some champagne to ring in the New Year!

LUDUS rooms was one of the best stays we’ve had throughout our 5 week journey around Europe. The location is truly unbeatable, there just isn’t anything comparable to waking up to a view of the colosseum- that was only 100m away (as is the metro if you arrive by train). The host we checked in with was the kindest person we met whilst in Rome. She recommended both restaurants and places to see, all of which were incredible! The world renowned ‘The Court’ bar is only 100m away also, with a magnificent view of the colosseum at night. There is a kitchen to make tea/coffee and biscuits at your disposal and daily room service. We didn’t want to leave! If you’re looking at this place, do yourself a favour and book it.

Perfect location near the colosseum and very comfortable room. Staff were super friendly. Kept up to date via Whatsapp even when I had a mix up over my arrival time, they went above and beyond to help out. Very safe part of Rome to walk around and close to a lot of good restaurants. Will definitely return. I saw some comments about noise - I didn't have an issue, the only time I heard anything was one morning when people were either checking in or out so were in the corridor, but no other noise, the double glass doors kept everything out, even when there was a street party right outside

The staff was super friendly and helpful, and were very accommodating to our group. The location was fantastic as our goal was to get out and see the Colosseum and Roman Forum and then to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps in less than a 20-hr period. We didn't have a problem at all because we were short walks to it all.

Not really a complaint, just a heads up to those who might be traveling as a larger group. We had 7 people across 3 rooms and there isn't any common space. It's just a tight hallway, with a little kitchenette nook with a coffee machine and snacks, which made it a little difficult for us to gather as a group for communication and coordination (my wife and I were herding parental kittens...). So it may not be ideal for larger groups who need to communicate/coordinate with each other. If you're 1-4 people in your group or don't need much communication/coordination with a group, you won't have any problems at all! Also, 3 flights of stairs. Just par for the course in Italy. :)

The view! Amazing view from our room of the excavations, the Colosseum! Walkable to many great little restaurants. The towel warmer and the bidet since we don't normally have these things in America. The little porch by the kitchenette and the kitchenette were used every morning. Easy come and go for everything we did in Rome!

The only thing needed might be better signs. We kind of were a little lost at first. We also had to carry suitcases up 3 flights of stairs, that was a little hard but we got it done. I don't think there were elevators.

We had a wonderful experience during our stay, and we want to give special thanks to Laura, who truly went above and beyond to make our visit comfortable and enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, Laura was warm, welcoming, and professional. She was incredibly attentive, always ready to assist with a smile, whether it was offering local tips, helping with check-in, or handling small requests with genuine care. Her attention to detail and friendly attitude made a big difference in our stay. It’s rare to come across staff who not only do their job well but also genuinely care about the guests’ experience—and Laura is one of those rare people. Hotel was fantastic and exceeded my expectations in every way. 1. I didn’t realize it had a rooftop — the pool isn’t huge, but it’s perfect for cooling off after a hot day. 2. The view from the rooftop is easily top three in the city. 3. The room was huge and super clean. 4. The staff was amazing across the board — big shoutout to Sam from the rooftop, he was a rockstar! 5. Free wine on the rooftop from 6–11 every day (yes, free!). 6. Great location, close to everything. 7. The bed was incredibly comfortable. I’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re in town.

- Beautiful clean room overlooking the Ludus Magnus (also known as the Great Gladiatorial Training School, was the largest of the gladiatorial schools in Rome) and Colosseum - A great place to start exploring Rome - Very comfortable bed - In room kettle, tea, mini fridge - In the corridor of the hotel mini kitchen, microwave, dishes, coffee maker - Daily cleaning service - Street noises are hardly audible at all thanks to the doubling of the window frames - In the adjacent street you will find bars (with excellent coffee), restaurants, in the next street nonstop supermarket Carrefour - Nice and helpful lady at the reception, very pleasant to talk to.

I would recommend that you pack light; navigating three flights of stairs in an old building with two heavy, large suitcases was not for the weak. However, despite the challenge, I would still recommend this stay. It was worth it!
