Gianni at the front desk was so helpful upon arrival, giving us maps and information about the neighborhood, and offering suggestions on restaurants and tours. The hotel has a complimentary boat trip to Murano to visit a glass factory, and this was very nice - an interesting up-close look at glass-blowing, and then a tour of the glass shops with no pressure to buy whatsoever. Francesca at the front desk was also a gem, and everyone working at this hotel had a smile and greeted you with a "buongiorno" each day. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, with many choices available including a variety of pastries, coffee cakes, hard-boiled eggs and salads, meats and cheese, yogurt, fruits, juices and coffees/tea. It was a lovely display each morning, and the staff was very eager to please. The hotel was delightful, our room was quite large, and the location is unbeatable! As much as you may have heard that Venice is a maze of streets and one could easily become lost, we never had difficulty returning to our hotel since the many yellow signs pointing out FERROVIA provided the proper direction to the Grand Canal and Hotel Antiche Figure. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, and have no qualms about recommending it to others. Also, we took a 2-hour walking tour through Viator called "Tour of the Real Hidden Venice" that was guided by Niko, who provided excellent commentary and stories from a native Venetian. We visited the areas of Cannaregio and the Jewish Ghetto, and this tour meets right in front of the hotel at 10:00am. Niko also provided recommendations for a few restaurants. I recommend this tour and you may also find it welcome since most of Venice was very crowded (mid-October) and this walking tour visited streets/squares that were so quiet and quaint, with what appeared to be more local residents than tourists.

Nice location….boat ferries just across the canal, lots of restaurants nearby, train station minutes away….but the walk involved a lot of stairs on the bridge (porters helped), lovely breakfast. Staff were great. Room (412) had a nice view and except for the loud party on the rooftop deck just outside our window one night was quiet. Air con worked well with in room controls.

I was not aware of the “dynamic pricing”for this hotel. I booked months ahead and paid a premium price. Lesson learned… do not prepay and continue to check prices periodically.

The location was perfect. I'm so happy I found something close to the train station as I was coming in with my Mother who uses a cane and so for the most part I was carrying the luggage. I'm thankful we only had to cross the one bridge, one of the largest but still just the one. I can't recommend a better location if you want to be close to transport; this includes the boat taxis as well and the gondolas. The closest grocery mart is a bit of a walk, only 5 minutes if you hustle. The room was excellent in terms of the bed and bedding being extremely comfortable and light, perfect for the hot weather. There was air conditioning that kept the air cool at night and when we came back to our room after a day out it was so refreshing to step inside. The room we had was on the second floor and our windows had no view but looked down into an alley, Which is fine, I didn't need a view from the room. (Not being passive aggressive I promise). And saying that, even though there was an alley the room was surprisingly sound proof and we had no disturbances during the night for our sleep. Everyone who worked here, at the desk, serving drinks, cleaning service were all kind and more than happy to help. Cleaning service was actually extremely kind. Some perspective on location: In the photo I share you can see the train station on the right: long gray building. On the left, the big green domed building is next to the hotel, which you can see to the right of it. Connected by the one large bridge which is made of stairs. FYI all of their bridges are stairs. I had no idea, I had never seen it before. It does make sense though, they'd be too steep otherwise. Listen, if this helps one person I'm happy.

The only issue I had was the "breakfast included". It's really some baked treats, slices of cake and cookies. Sugar. Cereal, some fruit, Toast with Jam. Oh and coffee/tea. That's it. So we found ourselves passing this everyday and going elsewhere for something that could hold us out until lunch, since we'd be walking all morning. Yes it's Europe, they love a croissant and a cigarette with their cappuccino in the morning but that's not for us. Anyway, you've been warned. I also just think they do not have a kitchen, since no real cooked food was ever seen and there's also no dinner service. If you want something more filling, (for breakfast at least) we found a place called Niki Bar, just a 10 min walk away. Delicious, Hearty, Healthy.

Bar tender didnt give us our included breakfast. She made our party pay for it. There's no elevator, so we carried heavy luggage up and down the stairs. The air conditioner in the double room wasnt very cold at all.

Located right across the Grand Canal from Santa Lucia Station—just a 5-minute walk, though you’ll need to cross the Scalzi Bridge. A great base for exploring the main island of Venice on foot. The front desk staff are kind and helpful, offering clear explanations about major tourist spots. The annex and room are beautifully renovated in a Renaissance-inspired style—very Instagrammable—though storage space is limited.

The room we booked was not in the main building facing the canal, but on the second floor of an annex set further back. The annex has no elevator, so you’ll need to carry your luggage up the stairs. Soundproofing on the entrance door is weak; conversations and daily noise from neighboring rooms can be heard.

Lovely hotel with excellent reception staff and a wonderful welcome on arrival. We arrived earlier than book-in time but the room was just ready so we were allowed to check in. Excellent room with nice bathroom and shower. Very comfortable. Breakfast was superb with a very nice buffet. We also enjoyed drinks and snacks at the outside table throughout the day while we watched Venice life pass by. Staff very helpful with directions to landmarks and to beware pickpockets. Unfortunately we did succumb at a waterbus stop just outside St Mark’s Square when a ‘charming’ gentleman offered to help us at the ticket barrier. My husband lost his wallet which was then returned minus the cash. So beware, keep ‘helpers’ at a distance and don’t carry much cash. The hotel itself is directly opposite the train station which was a factor in choosing it ….. couldn’t get much closer unless you were on the same side of the canal. We had to cross the bridge which is very close, but quite a trial with heavy cases. We managed with help from our strong offspring, but there are porters around to help if you want to hire them to navigate all the steps. There are also a lot of steps up to the front of the station but we found the side entrance was suitable for wheelchairs etc. Very glad we chose this hotel, such a beautiful area on the Grand Canal and suited us for the train station. A bit of a walk to St Mark’s Square but a nice walk and of course you can get a waterbus back. Venice is a very special place. So glad we stopped off here en route to our main holiday.

Staying at Hotel Antiche Figure was an absolute delight! The location is perfect—right on the Grand Canal and just a 3-minute walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient, especially in Venice, where dragging luggage over cobblestone streets and bridges can be challenging. Our room had a stunning view of the Grand Canal, and watching the sunset from the window was truly magical. The hotel is also in a prime spot, with a gondola station, water taxis, and water buses right in front, making it incredibly easy to explore the city. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the breakfast was great—a wonderful way to start the day. For a first-time visitor to Venice, this hotel is strategic, charming, and incredibly well-located. Couldn’t be happier with our stay—thank you for an amazing experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The room was large and the bathroom was as well. Everything was clean and well maintained. We appreciated the elevator as well. The bed was a bit firm/hard, but it wasn't the worst we experienced in Italy. The staff was wonderful, and we really loved our little bar for happy hour. Breakfast was included with our room and was really nice to have, however it is very dessert/sweet heavy. Some more savory items would have been nice. Location was FANTASTIC! all in all, I would recommend and already have, and would stay here again.

I have always wanted to stay on a canal in Venice- this was a bucket list item and it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved everything about this hotel: the location, the morning breakfast, the friendly staff, the gorgeous room. Plus, the price cannot be beat. It was a great value! You absolutely MUST take advantage of their fantastic breakfast spread white sitting outside and watching all the different types of boats go by: taxis, police, ambulance, laundry, deliveries, groceries...I even saw a HEARSE boat carrying a COFFIN! It was wild. Also- there is a gorgeous church right across the canal next to the train station- worth a peak! Its connected to a little store carrying all kinds of interesting religious items. I ended up buying small viles of oil with healing properties from a monastery in Italy as a present to give to friends and family- a very unique gift! Also, the restaurant around the corner, Vittoria dal 1938 is FANTASTIC. Very unique spin on Venetian dishes, absolutely delicious, and incredibly memorable.

Nothing- the stay was perfect.

The rooms were spacious enough, and the beds were very comfortable. The bathtub for a shower area is to be expected in quintessential Europe. The breakfast spread was more than ample--our septuagenarian mother, for whom this trip was a gift, was particularly happy with it. The heart of this atmospheric hotel, which is located across the Santa Lucia Station and along the Grand Canal in the Santa Croce district, is its warm, friendly, always ready to help, hardworking staff, led by Francesca, Gianni, and Davide at the reception desk. A coin-operated laundromat, with several washing machines and tumblers or driers, is just 100 meters or so away from the hotel.

None that was essential, that I can think of.
