Couldn't be handier for Terminal 2, about 3 minutes walk, some of which is under cover. Strolling across to the terminal after a leisurely breakfast is much less stressful than travelling to the airport on the day of your flight. Obviously, it adds cost, but we had the half board package, which extends your holiday and gets it off to the best possible start. We travelled in on the train, which is approximately 15 minutes walk, mostly along the covered skywalk.

Signage from the train station could be better, but basically follow signs for T2, get the lift down to ground level and cross over the road via pelican crossing.

All good at the hotel - the room, staff and breakfast were top notch. It was straightforwards to walk directly to the departures area. You can park free for up to 1 hr in their car park on arrival which was great for us to unpack and unwind before i moved the car to the long stay and got the (free) shuttle bus back to the airport. It was then a short (but hard to navigate) walk back to the hotel (see below).

Not the hotel's fault but the signposting to it from the airport was not good. Ended up walking on a busy roadway when there was a footpath through the car park.

I found this an extremely good, very well located, and above all, a reasonably priced airport hotel., no more than a few minutes' walk away from Terminal 2 arrivals / departures. I arrived by train, a 30ish minute walk from the station in the elevated "skyway" and once in T2 departures, the signage is clear. Check in is efficient, as are all members of staff. The room and public areas spotless. I didn't try the Turkish Restaurant, "Firin" on this occasion, nor breakfast, due to an early morning flight - though the "Open Lobby" menu was sufficient for my needs and the club sandwich with fries was fine. On a similar deal, I would use both for early departures / late arrivals without hesitation.

After eating and a few beers, and tipping the bar / waiting staff, I found that ""A discretionary service charge of 12.5 % will be added to your total bill". It is not shown as an additional charge so is it built into the price?

Special mention to the receptionist (believe her name was Joanne or Janet? I lost the card with her name on :( but her name definitely began with a J)! She was incredibly helpful and went out her way to ensure we were well looked after even with the finer details! Very clean rooms and the ambience throughout the hotel and restaurant were good. No noise could be heard from the room either which is great considering its location!

The family room consists of a double bed and a small sofa bed (3 adults and 1 16yr old). This did not fit everyone comfortably. The restaurant attached is hit and miss too, long delays to get served. The food from the Turkish menu was lovely but I’d avoid the all day menu as my sandwich came out dry and hard, and the chips stone cold.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport. I wanted the Radisson Blu but they had no triple rooms available. The Holiday Inn was actually better, and just as close to T2 departures. When we first checked into our room it had crumbs all over the floor (!) but they were super sweet and relocated us within minutes. The main bed (king-size) was comfortable, toiletry selection surprisingly high-end. They even offer to customize your pillow - which we didn’t need as the ones on the bed were perfect. Loved the breakfast buffet! Plenty of healthy options along with the more traditional fare. Coffee machine at the buffet makes delicious lattes.

The in-house Turkish restaurant was interesting … we tried two traditional dishes for dinner (the fish was delicious, the lamb not so much) and a burger (deemed ok by our teen). They didn’t offer a lot of more mainstream dishes, so we felt it was a slightly unusual choice for a hotel that’s so family-oriented. The second bed in our premium room was a pull-out double bed, which our daughter was excited about, but there wasn’t a real mattress and it was very hard.

Exceptional friendly curious staff from the lovely helpful receptionist to the equally lovely waiters in the restaurant. Minutes walk from terminal 2 Great restaurant, great food . A fabulous room with a seating area which is an added bonus of not having to sit on the bed or on a hard chair A complimentary drinks in the fridge plus chocolate bars I Usually stay in Raddison Blue T2 Manchester but this hotel Holiday Inn is definitely the better and who I shall use in the future

Nothing whatsoever

I chose this hotel because of its location at terminal 2. We arrived by train and It was a short walk to the Hotel, maximum 15 minutes, all under the covered walkways. It was a much shorter walk next morning to the terminal and check in, probably 3 minutes. The Hotel its self is excellent, modern and clean and very comfortable. I would definitely chose this hotel again.

We usually travel from Heathrow and 2 months ago we paid £69.00 at the Radisson Red for a 1 night stay prior to flying. All the "on site" hotels at Manchester are considerably dearer than Heathrow and I can only relate that back to there is less competition. All the hotels at Manchester "on site" were £100.00 plus per night.

Couldn’t be closer to our Manchester arrival point - Terminal 2. An easy 5 minute walk. Modern fit out with a well appointed Standard Room layout. Very comfortable double bed. Quiet. We had the buffet breakfast which had everything you would need to get the day off to a good start. Prepared to a high standard with attentive staff in attendance.

The official check in time is 1500 hrs. We arrived just before 1400 and unfortunately had to wait for a services room to become available, which one did just before 1500. I know this met the obligation but it was a bit tough after flying for a day from Australia to get there.

Nice room, very clean, good water pressure in the shower and enough space for 2 people. We stayed only one night as it was near the airport and we had an early flight the next morning. Excellent location for T2, not so much for T3! Make sure you book at their restaurant as there are slim pickings for dinner nearby otherwise. There's not much at the airport!

The bathroom hand basin didn't drain, it must be very blocked which was very frustrating. We advised the hotel reception on departure. This should have been picked up by the cleaners, but not reported. or it was and no action was taken. Hopefully subsequent people staying in this room don't have this problem.

I systematically use this hotel for my overnight stay before an early morning flight in Manchester Airport. The staff are really good and the Turkish style restaurant also provides British alternatives for people that do not want to use their palate. All the stuff from reception from bar and everyone in between are very helpful and nice and very much willing to accommodate everyone's particular requests and needs. Concerning the rooms they are very comfortable and the climate control gives you the ability to have your ideal temperature for sleeping. Bathroom is big and the shower is very much enjoyable. Highly recommend.

This time during my stay the minibar fridge was not working this bite me trying to use different plugs so I think the fridge was malfunctioning. There also was a stain on the curtain which I have attached a picture. This is not the standard that I am used to.
