I stayed in both a private room and dormitory. Great location, friendly staff, high quality mattresses, powerful A/C and clean. They clean everyday. They have a facilities room with free water (hot and cold) and a fridge. You can hang out with friends on the beanbags or sit on the bar stools and work on your computer as they have plug sockets. And 24/7 security/reception cover. The staff had great recommendations too.

My only criticism is that it’s advertised as soundproof, and it was quiet but it does not qualify as being soundproof in my experience. Nonetheless, it’s worth the pricetag! I would recommend!

Everything was very nice, good value to money ,near to everything in George Town.Staff was super polite and nice, my first night in my dorm, there's was this guy snoring so loud that I couldn't sleep, so the Lady at the desk let me sleep in another room. Top floor hangout area is very cool and has everything you need. Met great people there, so I ended up extending. 1 day.

There should be curtains on the beds and the top floor should stay open after 12 too so that people can hangout there late night.

I firstly booked 2 days at Tido Hostel, then, because of the friendly staffs and comfortable place with a huge rooftop, I decided to extended 2 more days. I really like Tido Hostel, not only happy staffs but also a convenient place to go around town by walking.

Would be nice if every single bed have their own curtain, so we could feel more private. I use my big beach scarf to cover my bed so I feel okay. But you should be prepare your own curtain ( :D) or big beach scarf if you want private space. Other while. everything else is perfect!

I had a great stay at Tido Hostel in Penang! The location is absolutely perfect—super convenient to explore George Town, with lots of local food stalls, cafes, and attractions just a short walk away. The hostel was spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and comfortably air-conditioned, which was a huge plus in the Penang heat. The rooms and common areas were modern, fresh, and cozy, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. Special shoutout to the staff who were super helpful and welcoming. They were always ready to assist with local tips and made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend Tido Hostel if you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and centrally located place in Penang! Would love to stay here again on my next trip. 💛

clean bed. soft bed. aircond was okay. toilet dont hve funny smell. toilet out of my expectation. cleaner than other hostel. selimut hospital. but okay. friendly staff. nice building. easy access and got lift. other hostel got no lift haha. maybe can improve on clean towel. or maybe just carry own towel. cheap stay good value. and huge toilet. got locker. own lamp and plug. friendly staff named syed. felt very welcoming.

towel smells not so good. can use fragrancce and anti bacterial wash. hard to get to the call. call service wasnt so pleasant. overall the rest is okay. please request for lower bunk unless u dont mind

Ok reading the reviews on here, I expected much worse, but the place is super nice! The upstairs common area is big and comfy, you get free water refill, the staff are adorable (they offered me cake?!), and for people who are only finding out about the existence of tourist tax: travel a bit more? I’m a female solo traveller and never felt uncomfortable with any of the male staff, they were all super nice. Sure it’s not a party hostel so if that’s what you’re after, pass your way. If you’re working away from home this is perfect.

The only thing I agree with on previous reviews is the bathrooms could be cleaned a few more times a day, people are disgusting so it needs more attention.

The staff were super friendly and had a very welcoming energy. My room was clean, neat, well-lit and really spacious, which was awesome. Same with restrooms. My favorite part was the lounge area—big enough where you can work, chill, catch a movie on the big screen, and hangout with other guests. Note that all these at a very competitive price. It was indeed fantastic experience. Definitely recommend it!

I wish beds have curtains for privacy. Also thick blankets as airconditioning can get pretty chilly :)

I liked how Syed gave me a warm welcome when I checked in and every time I returned from my adventures. He was very professional and wanted to create a great hostel community/environment. There is a whole floor dedicated as a shared space where you can socialize, cook, or just relax. The location is perfect too, everything is within walking distance.

The only thing I didn't like about the hostel was a group checked in around midnight on my last night and they were very disruptive and loud. I think there should be a cap time for check-in. Please consider toilet slippers as there is a no shoe rule in the hostel rooms, shared space, etc.

They have big common area if you want to work. You have your own space. Open till 3 am

Everything was good. Some suggestions Keep a mop or floor wiper in bathroom so that the one inside can dry the bathroom for next one. This is quite common in dorms Maybe name tags on common fridge. Or some instructions for people who forget food. Some people have left their old food in fridge

- Room was spacious with good aircon - Facilities were always clean - Location is great- walking distance to lots of bars, restaurants, the street art, etc

- We were put on the female only floor (they explained this was because it was the only room they had left but was still a bit confused as to why they didn’t check this) which meant my boyfriend had to go to a different floor to use the bathrooms. Not a big issue for us though
