Very stylish and considered modern design. The room is spacious and very user friendly. The hooks along the wall were surprisingly useful. I found the bed very comfortable and slept well (it is on the firm side). The shower was also great. Location is very central and walkable. There is no fridge in the room, but each room has an individual box in the communal fridge facing the lift.

Considering how well the rooms are designed, it is surprising that the design for the entrance is not fit for purpose. The approach to the front desk and to the lift is paved with rough gravel, so it is not possible to bring your suitcase in on wheels – you have to lift and carry it. This is just stupid. The entrance design is “ inspired by a construction site” – okay, but first it needs to be functional.

Excellent location, walkable distance to attractions. Modern, simple design and aesthetically pleasing.

Some areas are not maintained well. Shower area is extremely mouldy🤢. Pantry not stocked up as advertised.

I love the overall deco of the hotel's interior and room, the cool & quirky captions on the toiletries, the sandwich bar (cafe) and the listening bar/dining restaurant within the hotel premise. I just wish that I could have stayed more nights here.

Just a little note that I didn't know there was no water boiler/electric kettle inside the room. I thought the thermal flask was an electric kettle until I read the instructions in "The Unusual Guide to Hotel Mokozoyo". Hahahahaa, not sure if it will be a good idea to have it explicitly stated in a note or something at the flask and cups corner.

Great location, comfortable room size, clean with basic amenities available. Mini fridge, hair dryer is in the room but there isn’t ironing board available. Refillable water machine- hot/cold is fantastic with small snacks available. There’s also hotel bicycle renting service and umbrella available. Lift is available if there are baggages. There are some parking slots in front of the hotel available too.

It’ll be even better if the check in time can be earlier. It’ll be great if check in is available 12pm rather than 3pm.

Hip hotel in a hip area of Penang. We really liked the complementary snacks and the cocktails at the listening bar. The hotel is walking distance to the old town and there are many restaurants and cafe just outside the hotel (other than the in-house cafe, restaurant, and bar).

We would have liked the option to have breakfast on site, but when we stayed the cafe opened a bit late, at 9:30am. It'd be perfect if the hotel adds a pool.

The hotel is one of the more aesthetic hotels in Penang. It has a hipster vibe and has many insta worthy photo spots. The location is great and near several food places. It is also a 3 min walk to a nightclub, Midnight Black, which may/may not be a good thing to travellers. It is easy accessible and convenient to get a Grab ride. The room is clean and pleasant to live in, with an industrial theme. The smart tv is really useful with Netflix and Youtube. It is value for money and great for budget travellers who do not wish to live in a hostel.

There are not many facilities as this is a boutique hotel. There is no pool or laundry services (there is a laundromat across the road) or a lobby. Would recommend to have more household products in the room - tissue paper (we were using toilet paper throughout), conditioner, hand soap (it was not working).

location is perfect, especially for coffee lovers. there's two very good coffee places within 5 mins walking distance as well as other food options around the area.

soundproofing can be better at the room door; i was able to hear sounds from the corridor throughout most nights.

Firstly, the hotel's exterior is very artistic, and the front desk staff are extremely friendly. The room size is just right, with a beautiful and clean design. Additionally, its location in the city center makes it relatively close to some notable attractions and restaurants. Most importantly, the hotel provides a water dispenser on every floor and complimentary snacks! Highly recommended!

There's nothing I didn't like about it, except that the Sandwich Bar downstairs closes too early.

It is always the place to stay in my list when I visit my families in Penang. The first two times were exceptional and last week was my 5th time staying at Mokozoyo but I felt that things are running down a little compared to the last time. The hair dryer was not working properly, the hand soap automatic machine is not working, and towel needs some proper cleaning work.

Cozy, quiet, nearby the tourist spots.

A RM100 deposit is required upon check in. Hope it was noticed upon booking. The entrance are not really friendly to big luggage traveller just an fyi. The laundry service happens to be down during the stay. Tho it has a self serving dobby right opposite, but would've been great if it works for tourist who'd rather spare more times of visiting sites.
