The Cititel is in a great location. The rooms are always clean and in good condition. The staff are always friendly and helpful, especially Bani on the front reception desk. The sea views are spectacular.

Whilst there has been an improvement in the WiFi over the last few years, it still drops out or slows right down intermittently. On the grand scheme of things though, I would not mark my ratings down just for this.

Good location. Room and lobby were very clean and well kept. Pleasant staff and good parking availability at the time.

The room and bath were VERY small. It was ok for a quick trip, but for a longer stay it wouldn’t be comfortable. For the price and pictures we expected a larger space. Ordered more pillows, communication was a little difficult and we didn’t get what we ordered.

The rooms are very clean, have everything you need and a good space. We had a make up station/desk, as well as a small 'coffee' area, table and chair. The bed was nice and large, and the bathoom had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. There is a small pool and gym which was good for a cooling dip after a day's exploring. The location is fantastic! 10 minute walk to the Blue Mansion, 5 minutes walk to Red Paradise food hall, and pretty much everything else in Goergetown was walkable from here. The staff were absolutely fantastic and helped us with every possible query and item we needed (one night we need some cutlery and it was sent to our room within minutes). They have filtered water stations around (and glass water jugs in the room to go in the fridge) which saved us money and trouble buying bottles, as well as being very sustainable. We were lucky to stay there during Chinese New year and the hotel was nicelt decorated, and they even had a Dragon dance in reception. I would recommend this place to anyway, superb hotel, we even extended our stay by a few nights we loved it, and the town so much.

The wifi was a little slow, but we have multiple devices and downloaded quitea lot of TV for our onwards travels no issues.

We stayed at Cititel Penang for a 3night stay, including breakfast, & overall had an enjoyable experience. The rooms are very spacious and had a nice view. Bed was extremely large and very comfortable. The hotel is centrally located, making it incredibly convenient for exploring George Town. There are plenty of cafes, local food markets and restaurants all within walking distance, along with several key attractions nearby. Breakfast at the hotel offered a good variety of options. The staff were exceptionally helpful & friendly, which made our stay even more pleasant. Would definitely consider staying here again on a future visit to Penang.

The only downside for us was the swimming pool - it's an indoor pool and we prefer outdoor pools, however, this was a minor point in an otherwise excellent stay

Superb location, awesome views and full of sunlight. Good location. Close accessible to market, food stalls and eateries. Walking distance to famous locations. We were given an early check in by 12.30pm as we arrived by morning flight, which helped us to recuperate. Good bathroom, nice shower with tub. Comfortable beds and fresh bedsheets. Ample furniture to keep bags and work around. In short it was value for money.

Didn't allow couple breakfast. Only 1 person is allowed complimentary breakfast the other person is on paid basis. The usual check in time is 3.00pm across all the hotels in Malaysia. Bed could have been little big.

Water dispenser provided at the alleyway at each floor which proved an ultimate effort to save the earth. Further, a small forest flora fauna aquarium display adjacent to the lift is another fresh attraction!

What a waste during the breakfast! Notice the public / guest wasting the food in such a way not finish their meal. Apa salahnya ambil sedikit dahulu. Jika sedap, boleh ambil lagi. Notice as well that all cook staff wearing safety shoes. Noted that it's for safety, but perhaps the hotel could provide more comfort shoes but yet safety. It seems they are working at the construction site.

First of all; this is our 1st time staying at Cititel Penang. One word to describe our experience - AMAZING!! We stayed at 8th floor (superior king). We got what we wished for which is partial seaview. The view was breathtaking. We love it!! The room & the bed was very spacious. Toilet & bathroom was very clean. Understand that the hotel was under refurbishment process for the past few years. Good job!! The welcome drinks was free flow even until late in the evening...not even a 5 star hotel provide this kind of service. Nutmeg drinks was super refreshing. What suprise us the most is going to Chowrasta road took only 5 minutes walk!! No need to drive ur car with the hectic jam in Georgetown area. We had a good lunch at Hameediyyah Nasi Kandar (at Chowrasta area itself). The next morning; we had our breakfast at the hotel cafe (Main Street Cafe). With the choices of food; the price paid was worth every cents. Thank you very much Mdm Evelyn for your generosity...May God bless you!! The hospitality of other staff also deserved 10 stars rating... For sure we will come again in future....

The location is excellent with bus stops no more than a couple of minutes walk away. It also only takes a few minutes to get to the World Heritage area. The included breakfast is one of the best we have ever had. With a huge choice including their signature dish Roti Channi. All the staff in the breakfast room were very helpful and used dishes were removed promptly. The room was very comfortable and kept clean. We will certainly return when we next visit Penang.

There is nothing to dislikes atthis property

The hotel was new and modern. Whilst the room was on the smaller side, the bed was incredibly comfortable and I slept very well. They give you glass bottles to fill using the water filter in the hallway which was lovely. I also loved that there are terrariums in the foyer and in the hall on each level - nice touch of Malaysian flora. In the foyer they have flavoured water and tea complimentary for guests. All of the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The location was perfect if you want easy access to food and bars - 2 minutes to chulia street and a huge assortment of food options within walking distance.

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cititel Penang! The location is perfect—right in the heart of George Town, making it easy to explore local attractions, street food, and cultural spots. The staff were warm and attentive, always ready to assist with a smile. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with a nice city or sea view depending on the floor. Only minor point—parking space can be a bit tight during peak hours, but overall, the experience was excellent. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone visiting Penang!
