The Cititel is in a great location. The rooms are always clean and in good condition. The staff are always friendly and helpful, especially Bani on the front reception desk. The sea views are spectacular.

Whilst there has been an improvement in the WiFi over the last few years, it still drops out or slows right down intermittently. On the grand scheme of things though, I would not mark my ratings down just for this.

Good location. Room and lobby were very clean and well kept. Pleasant staff and good parking availability at the time.

The room and bath were VERY small. It was ok for a quick trip, but for a longer stay it wouldn’t be comfortable. For the price and pictures we expected a larger space. Ordered more pillows, communication was a little difficult and we didn’t get what we ordered.

The rooms are very clean, have everything you need and a good space. We had a make up station/desk, as well as a small 'coffee' area, table and chair. The bed was nice and large, and the bathoom had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. There is a small pool and gym which was good for a cooling dip after a day's exploring. The location is fantastic! 10 minute walk to the Blue Mansion, 5 minutes walk to Red Paradise food hall, and pretty much everything else in Goergetown was walkable from here. The staff were absolutely fantastic and helped us with every possible query and item we needed (one night we need some cutlery and it was sent to our room within minutes). They have filtered water stations around (and glass water jugs in the room to go in the fridge) which saved us money and trouble buying bottles, as well as being very sustainable. We were lucky to stay there during Chinese New year and the hotel was nicelt decorated, and they even had a Dragon dance in reception. I would recommend this place to anyway, superb hotel, we even extended our stay by a few nights we loved it, and the town so much.

The wifi was a little slow, but we have multiple devices and downloaded quitea lot of TV for our onwards travels no issues.

Superb location, awesome views and full of sunlight. Good location. Close accessible to market, food stalls and eateries. Walking distance to famous locations. We were given an early check in by 12.30pm as we arrived by morning flight, which helped us to recuperate. Good bathroom, nice shower with tub. Comfortable beds and fresh bedsheets. Ample furniture to keep bags and work around. In short it was value for money.

Didn't allow couple breakfast. Only 1 person is allowed complimentary breakfast the other person is on paid basis. The usual check in time is 3.00pm across all the hotels in Malaysia. Bed could have been little big.

The hotel was new and modern. Whilst the room was on the smaller side, the bed was incredibly comfortable and I slept very well. They give you glass bottles to fill using the water filter in the hallway which was lovely. I also loved that there are terrariums in the foyer and in the hall on each level - nice touch of Malaysian flora. In the foyer they have flavoured water and tea complimentary for guests. All of the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The location was perfect if you want easy access to food and bars - 2 minutes to chulia street and a huge assortment of food options within walking distance.

Nothing - everything was exceptional.

I have been a regular guest of the Cititel chain in Malaysia since 2013, and this is my fourth stay at Cititel Penang. As always, the experience was excellent. The hotel offers a comfortable stay at an affordable price, making it a great choice for both business and leisure travelers. I truly appreciate Cititel’s commitment to sustainability and environmental-friendly practices. It is reassuring to see hotels taking steps toward greener hospitality. A special thanks to the hotel for the room upgrades, complimentary drinks and desserts, which added a thoughtful touch to my stay. Overall, Cititel Penang continues to uphold its high standards in hospitality, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Georgetown. Looking forward to my next stay!

We arrived around 1pm, 2 hrs earlier than the check-in time. My mom has a bad knee and my dad also limping. We booked for connecting rooms. The lady did all she can to prioritize the room prep and we got the keycards in 15 minutes. Hats off to the lady. My bad not getting her name but she is wearing a hijab. Huge thank you to you! Also the bell boy, the door and lobby staff, omelet and Pratha lady at breakfast, all of them makes me and my family feels welcome. Massive gratitude to the whole team. Overall, wonderful staff, clean room, good breakfast, great location. Its walking distance to the heritage walk area. This is my new favorite hotel in Penang.

Your security staff at the main entrance when I was about to enter and check out almost 9am on Thursday (January 30, 2025) saw me with casual wear which he must have mistaken for some lower-level person's wear, said to me I couldn't use the toilet inside. I replied I had checked in for two nights and although he immediately said thank you twice, you cannot judge anyone like that and should at least ask to check first if the person is a guest. The rest were all good for the stay. I have been checking in at Cititel Premier Penang every Chinese New Year for four years now. Give an instruction to all your staff as a reminder not to lose regular guests.

As this was not my first time staying at this hotel, I would say this time their service level is amazing. The receptionist the Malay lady wearing the hijab was really friendly and communicating in a professional and respectful manners. Furthermore, the moment I checked in she gave me the courtesy call by asking hows the room condition etc. I truly appreciate her hospitality. Not just her, the staff that greeting the guests also doing their good job by keep smiling to the people and help to open the door. Please keep all these good practices. Its proven that you don't have to be a 5 star hotel to provide the 5 star services to your customers.

In terms of housekeeping they also did a good job. However on my second day I was surprised that when I came back around 2pm my room was still not made up yet. Upon calling the housekeeping I was informed that the staff are on lunch break however they sent the supervisor to make up my room. I appreciate it.

-The hotel lobby itself was big and spacious with several attentive staff members. There was also 3 flavourful welcome drinks - all made with local natural ingredients. -I was placed on the 7th floor corner room, and the view from my room was simply amazing - city view & the sea view -The room was big and clean with a prominent wardrobe and several other cabinets -Big comfortable bed with extra pillows in the wardrobe -The hotel uses refillable water bottles - but done right - the bottles are large, and the refill station was placed very near the room. The best bit - bottle refill is automatic and fast (couple of seconds!)

-No safe within the room. That's simply not acceptable for a 4 star hotel (To be fair, the hotel staff told me that several rooms were being upgraded and apologised for the lack of in room safe) -Room décor and interiors were a bit dated -Bathroom was big, however shower area/bathtub was squeezed in a corner (not sure about that design choice) -Walls seem a bit thin - can hear other guests in the hallway and the next room
