Excellent service by the staff, requested for room change due to reason stated below and they accommodated to it. The breakfast has a good variety and menu changes daily, also an excellent view from the restaurant on the top floor. Room was also rather comfortable.

The room's sound proofing is terrible, pretty much non existent. You can hear people talking when they walk through the corridor, or when people above move their furnitures around. It was very noisy. I initially got a room connected to a stranger's family and they were making lots of noises I could hear cause of the poor soundproofing. I requested for a room change to a non connecting and I must compliment the hotel as they did it for me. But this soundproof issue is big and as much as I feel this hotel is good on the whole, I won't stay here again unless they fix it as I cannot rest well with too much noise around. Room was abit dirty and the lighting in the room was very poor.

I booked a sea-view room for my mom and she absolutely loved the view; the view made it worth whatever extra price she had to pay. There was no breakfast included with the room but there is a restaurant inside the hotel which is quite convenient for a lazy morning. The room service is top notch, you don.t need to call or anything: you can just hang the door card and they will clean your room while you're outside. Overall service was great and the room itself was moderately spacious and lovely to stay in. Would definitely stay here and book through the page again

Nothing was disappointing about the place. I did not take the city view room as it just did not seem worth it, just pay a little extra and get the sea view room. Everything and all the services are already at a 8/10 level, only thing they can do is upgrade overall quality to a 9/10, maybe offer extra services like swimming pools and gyms and added breakfast with rooms. But no specific complains

It was a superb stay in Hotel Malaysia. Will surely come back. We liked the hotel for - 1. LOCATION. Situated at the head of Penang Street, it is central/ walking distance to everything the place has to offer. Additionally, the CAT bus point (free HO-HO buses, which traverse across the Heritage City) is about 150 mtrs from the hotel. 2. BREAKFAST. Buffet breakfast was one of the best we had in Malaysia. Elaborate spread with regular refills and a view of the ocean from 11th floor. 3. PARKING. Ample parking available for your car. 4. Spacious room with adequate amenities. 5. Friendly and responsive staff.

Nothing actually, but they should consider provision for water refilling options rather than depending upon supply of small water bottles leading to generation of huge, avoidable plastic garbage.

Great view. Good location. Responsive reception and house keeping. Reception responded and provided details when called and asked about booking details. The landline to connect to reception from the room wasn't working and was fixed the next day without a reminder on informing them on the same, the previous night. There were a few small stains on the sheet but not very obvious. Water Bottles and tea items were refilled daily. The bed was made every day and towels replaced.

Would have liked if toiletry was provided. the free receptionist redirected to the busy receptionist during checkin, hence had to wait for around 20min for checkin

All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast buffet was great and changed everyday. The breakfast room has huge opening windows and overlooks the sea on both sides of the island. Clean comfortable beds and the room had an opening window. Great location just down the road from Chowasti market, also can catch free CAT bus from there, Durian stall next to hotel and The Red Garden Food Court is behind the hotel. Great value for money. The location was good, and I could walk to most places. Choice of shops and restaurants nearby. The room was bigger than most for the price, lots of space and great hot water pressure. Hotel cleanness was good.

Can hear everything outside the room. I was woken every morning by the cleaners taking up and the corridor, I could even hear the radio calls as they were so loud on the radio. More consideration is needed for guest's sleep. Lots of homeless sleeping near the hotel every evening. I had to walk past them. No one troubled me but be aware.

The buffet breakfast was awesome. There was a lot of variety and the staff was very kind too. And the best part was the view of the city and the ocean from the buffet area. The hotel is clean and room too. The staff is helpful and polite.

The room seemed a bit small. Though it's not a big deal. Besides, the lights in the room were a bit too dim for us. Probably we are used to bright lights.

Room - quite clean, once we complaint to housekeeper to clear something, very fast response & take an immediate action. 3. Location & parking - highly recommended eg. free parking, centre town location (very near chowrasta, sup hameed etc)

We experienced being locked outside as the door was not functioning. Luckily, the housekeeping staff was nearby and helped us out. They should repair the door as this is not the 1st time a guest has been locked outside for the same room.

The staff are friendly and helpful. I've requested an extra bed right before we go to bed around mid night and the staff helpfully attended to us right away. The location is superb. You can find all the famous penang eateries and light shopping just in a brisk walk.

The open karaoke nearby is too loud at night and the room is not very sound proof, so that is a bit annoying for me.
