We only stayed at the Manapouri Lake View Motor Inn for one night. We booked it as we wanted somewhere near Te Anau or Manapouri for the night before our trip to Doubtful Sound. We were very pleased with the Inn. It is easy to find and has a lovely view of the lake. The room was simple but comfortable with facilities to make a hot drink in the morning and a small fridge. The bed was comfortable and the shower hot. We arrived late at night and were easily able to locate the key that had been left for us. We arrived too late to make use of the bar and didn't have breakfast there so can't comment on those. We'd happily stay there again.

The decor was a bit tired in places but we kinda expected this. I've definitely paid more and stayed in worse places.

I was pretty anxious after reading the reviews about this hotel but it was really perfectly ok. We were kindly upgraded to the lakefront view rooms so I can’t speak for the 401-11 rooms, but it wasn’t that dated and had everything we needed (except teaspoons!) . Bathroom was decent and there was a good heater that got the room toasty. There was also heated blankets. Beautiful view and super convenient parking so it was really easy to dive the 15 mins into Te Anau. FYI there is still no restauarnt / bar open as far as we could see, but the “church” down the road fed and watered us when we arrived at 8pm.

The room was a little bit dusty in places and the WiFi didn’t work for us down the far end. I did feel the price was a little high but actually it was all that was affordable and available in teanau & manapouri so maybe it was a fair price. Otherwise everything was fine/good!

Great Value for a Comfortable Stay We stayed at this motel for one night and were pleasantly surprised by the experience. While the property is a bit older, it was very clean and comfortable, providing everything we needed for a good night’s rest. The highlight of our stay was the breathtaking view of the lake, which added so much charm to the experience.

However, one downside was the amount of cold water that had to run before the hot water came through, which felt wasteful and not very eco-friendly. This is something the motel could improve on.

When we arrived, the owner informed us that he had upgraded us to a room with a great view of the lake for free. Winning!!! The room was clean, modern looking, cute and cosy. Large shower. Hubby loved the pillows - wished he could have taken it home with him lol. Glass on the door was so clean, I took a great photo looking out towards the lake. Great stay, very happy to stay here without the hustle and bustle of Te Anau.

Had a toaster but no plates or cutlery to butter our toast.

Very clean and well decorated interior. The exterior could do with some maintenance, but it's acceptable. Comfortable beds with good bedding along with a fridge and TV. The bathroom is a bit dated but clean with plenty of hot water. There is a separate laundry room and a separate communal kitchen. The washer is $2, as is the dryer. This place has some bad reviews. Maybe we were lucky and got a good room. If you're looking for luxury, then stay somewhere else and pay a lot, lot more!

We had no idea what to expect since this motor inn was farther away than we had expected, but the room was a great size. The beds were comfortable, the internet worked well, and we had a generous sized refrigerator. We greatly enjoyed the deck off of our room. We LOVED the view of the lake at sunset especially when we made the short walk over to the water's edge.

The parking was not great for loading and unloading the car, but it wasn't too far away. The bathroom was dated, but serviceable.

The room was basic but comfortable (particularly the bed). It was very satisfactory for a budget price. The views over the lake were beautiful. Access to the kitchen and (though we didn't need it) a laundry were helpful additions.

No complaints. The buildings, facilities and decor were basic. But that was what we expected for the price. Just be aware that everything is closed on Manapouri on a Monday night (which is when we were there) so we had to go into Te Anau for a meal.

The reviews suggested that it was not good but we were pleasantly surprised. The decor is dated but clean and functional. The view is absolutely stunning. Parking is easy. The staff in the restaurant were very helpful and the food was basic but well cooked and came quickly. The kitchen was old but the hobs all worked.

It needs an upgrade but this will be expensive as it is a large place. The 60s vibe is quite charming really when you settle into it and it will be vintage soon!

Personnel in the reception was polite. The property is FAIRLY priced for what it offers. Renovation is necessary in the bathroom BUT there is no problem at all.Beds are comfy,towels,soap etc is provided Taking into consideration the pricing i am happy of my stay. There are many TOXIC and bad reviews for no reason. If you want more pay more and stay somewhere else. cheers

Basic clean accomodation with a wonderful view. We arrived very late and expected an envelope collection but Tony greeted me and kindly took the time to show me to the room. It was so kind as we were tired and hos help made our arrival really easy to park up right outside our room. Lovely guy too! Thank you Tony. Great communication throughout and the beds were very comfortable. It was lovely and quiet and I slept very well. Great place as a stop off when self driving to Milford Sound.
