Well this is a very interesting place - lots of different floral / cottage / country house styles from different times and places, some old and some new which makes this place really unique as it is decorated by items from the hosts' travels around the world I think. Very attentive, perhaps a little over-attentive for some, hosts. The breakfast was good at a shared table and the gardens are lovely. You will get lots of advice on what to do, and we took it and found it to be most useful.

The bed was a bit bouncy. It's an old villa so sound insulation isn't great, but it is always like that with older places in NZ, but in return you get lots of character. A little bit out of town but we knew that and wanted that, but do check.

Mable and Danny's villa is very cosy and comfortable, with beautiful gardens and a surprise breakfast that varies every day, the breakfast is very tasty and fancy. recommend it to anyone who wants to experience the best breakfast in Rotorua! They also gave us a lot of fruit they grew themselves when we left!

Quintessential B&B - quiet, beautiful location, wonderful hosts and superb breakfasts. Danny and Mabel gave great tips for restaurants and exploring the surrounding environs. Their gardens are incredible. Danny is also a virtuoso barista and Mable deserves a Michelin star for her breakfasts!

Mabel and Danny are the warmest hosts you could imagine. Staying in their beautiful home was an absolute highlight. The lovingly prepared breakfast was absolutely fantastic. We also appreciate the many tips for our activities. We'll (hopefully) come back.

If we could have stayed another 4-5 days!?!

The breakfast was unbelievable! The hosts Danny and Mabel outdid anything I’ve experienced before. After visiting the city of Rotorua, we realized that staying a little out of town was a great choice. Rotorua was a meh city and driving is pretty much required to get to any of the interesting attractions. Better to stay at the Country Villa, in a lovely setting, with a clean comfortable room and charming hosts than to stay in an overpriced hotel smelling of sulfur.

Beautiful property, lovingly cared for by Mabel and Danny! Breakfast was a work of art, creative, and delicious! Certainly the best b and b breakfast I’ve had. Wonderful place to stay.

A corner of Heaven. The hosts, Mabel & Danny are very welcoming and pay attention to every aspect in order to create a holistic and authentic experience for their guests. The beautiful victorian house is artfully decorated on the interior interior and feels very cozy. The garden is skillfully taken care by the couple, striving for perfection. A must for your stay in Rotorua!

Everything was beyond expectations

Beautiful country home surrounded by lush gardens. The hosts, Danny and Mabel, were very welcoming and attentive. Breakfast each morning was a real treat. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay.

incredible! the owner and his wife worked at the top hotels in the world and it show. their attention to detail is amazing. if you stay here you could not possibly want for anything. breakfast is the best you will have at any b&b and the owners obviously love sharing their garden and surroundings with guests
