I just wanted somewhere on the CHEAP to rest ... from all day driving ... I soaked my weary bones in a private hot tub ... nothing flash ... but what a JOY at a toasty 41 degrees ... and access to a swimming pool ... NICE It provided what was needed ... plenty towels, extra blankets and pillows ... central heating ... fast wifi ... blah blah blah Messaged ahead for a late check in due to road conditions ... friendly and very accommodating on arrival ... thank you for that ... Don't expect a 5 star resort setting at the PRICE given ... I had a MEAN AS sleep in a safe environment ... so YEAH

There were a few little things ... but that's just nit picking ... so I'm not gonna bother ...

We stayed here for 5 nights, the place was tidy and they offered a clean up with fresh linen each day. The place is family owned and they show pride in their motel. The outside pool was warm which was great and the geothermal spa was such an awesome experience. They offered to wash/dry our clothes at extra cost which helped us not have to travel to a laundromat. We asked for excess towels which they provided at no extra cost. The only negative thing I would say was at night time the bathroom windows become somewhat see through! We only noticed when we were outside and could see thru the blurry window how many fingers he was holding up and the colours ect, so we put a towel across the windows. Might be an idea to get curtains installed? We would definitely stay again! Thanks for hosting us and showing great hospitality.

The thermal pool was excellent, just the right temperature and felt very soothing. Staff were nice and helpful. Bed very comfortable. Temperature control. Our private deck and yard was a nice place to sit in and dry clothes/togs. Room was a good size. Plenty of parking. Night and Day convenience shop and a good takeaway with yummy fish and some vegetable options a 3 minute walk away. Laundry option. Generous with good quality dishes.

Some of the fruit in the nearby fruit and vegetable shop was wilting. Main problem with the place was that we had to leave!

We were greeted by a man with the biggest smile, who immediately turned into dad mode and found us some plasters because my son had cut his foot on the way in. Crisis averted, he then showed us the way to our room and where to park, showed me how the spa works, and left us with warm words of "have a nice stay". That initial impression was a wonderful trip starter :) My son and I loved the tiny playground and spa. He was hesitant to go in the pool but it felt amazing just from touching it. I liked how spacious our room was, with plenty of room for a 4 year old to dance, play and generally just be 4. The bed was comfy, and it had a homely feel to the room :)

There was quite a bit of dust around the room and mess under the bed (only found because of retrieving sons toys), and the blue throw had a strange aroma with it. The place is quite dated, so if that doesn't appeal to you you may not like it (but we did, we like the feel of motels from the 'older' days).

The unit was spacious, clean and well presented. Having both a heated (35-37deg) outdoor pool and a really lovely indoor thermal pool was awesome. The location was handy to both town and many of Rotorua's attractions by car. It was possible to access the lake and the local park with thermal activity by foot.

The unit had an oven which was fantastic, but no oven dish to cook food in it - easily sorted. The outdoor lighting was a bit too 'enthusiastic' shining through the curtains at night and the proprietor was very receptive to loking at solutions.

Owner/managers were very accommodating and interacted well. Friendly atmosphere and though near the road it wasn't noisy. Used the heated swimming pool too. Parking was easy and adequate. They upgraded our room and we enjoyed the comfort of extra space. The small separate mineral spa for two or three was very comforting, enjoyable and relaxing.

Everything was working and maintained as described and we enjoyed the privacy of the first room which only needed a little lift on handle to lock door.

New owners are very accommodating and wish them all the best we will be back. Had only been there 3 days when we arrived. We booked 2 months before arriving and new owners have big plans for this place. Feel sorry for them. Old owners sold and didn't do anything to property for months before hand over. New owners kept the inside clean and tidy daily and in time will get the outside back up to scratch. Hot pool was amazing.

Photos showed a nice clean outside space and kids playground with tramp. But when it got sold the old owners had emergency housing in their because of covid and did no maintenance at all. The poor new owners got left with alot off work to do. Please support these new owners lovely people.

This place is amazing! The room is huge, with a great big bed, lots of space and an actual big kitchen with everything in it - a proper oven, stove, pots, pans, dishes, cutlery, fridge, kettle... The mineral pool is perfect, comfortable and private. And the outside pool has amazing temperature and we enjoyed it very much as well! Spacious parking right outside the room. Overall a wonderful experience.

It is a little bit outside of centre, which is no issue for those with a car. The playground that is on the property is a bit run down, although it still meets its purpose. There really is not many things we didn't like about this place.

My partner stayed here with with his 2 kids and said it was wonderful. He said it was very clean and safe. The hosts were super helpful and the pool was a winner with my kids during our stay. He highly recommends this motel and said he will be staying here again the next time he returns to Rotorua.

Just off the main road but a little bit hidden from the main road. Really friendly easy going staff. We had unit 5. The mineral pool and the pool were added bonuses we had short visits to the hot mineral pool.

Noisey other guests constantly slamming their car doors repeatedly right outside our unit. No consideration for other guests. However this is no fault of Red Rock motel or their staff. The mineral pool is really very hot i would not recommend it for children or teenagers and i think there should be lots more signage advising it's very hot. If there was a way to monitor and show the temperature of the pool i think this is another way to ensure everyone's ongoing safety.
