We enjoyed the quiet area, removed from the city and the sulphur smell that can be noted when driving into town. The views and property are nice (we didn’t use the clubhouse, so no comments on that). The unit was plenty big for the 4 of us and the full sized kitchen was great! They provided us with coffee, tea, sugar, and a small container of milk, which was appreciated. The in unit washer and dryer were also clean and worked well. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have games and puzzles in the office that you can check out, which is fun for a family game night. You can also check out items for ping pong, badminton, tennis, and cricket.

Our unit was a two story townhouse with the bedrooms upstairs. The biggest issue is most units have full on sun throughout the day which heats up the place, plus there is a skylight in the bathroom upstairs with no blinds to block any of the sun. All that heat makes the upstairs, where the bedrooms are, become like an oven in the summer. We opened the windows (which didn’t open enough) and used the standing fans provided, but every night was quite an uncomfortable nights sleep. While they may say there is a/c in the description, it is only downstairs in the main living area.

The location was great with beautifully kept grounds. The apartment we stayed in was amazing, clean and had a great feel.

On the photos when booking it showed water canals outside the accommodation. This was one of the main reason I booked the accommodation. It was a little disappointing to not have this view when looking outside. But overall still very much enjoyed staying there as everything else was amazing!

Staff were amazing, Josephine Karl and everyone else we met including the housekeepers. They were so hospitable. We loved that the resort was right by the most gorgeous lake. The lake had all the muted autumnal colours you would find in the Netherlands, and it was like a miniature version of the lake at Giethoorn, which we really loved. There was a large flock of gorgeous geese one evening just relaxing by the grassy banks before they took off in military formation and we captured it on video and it was such a special experience. The townhouse itself was comfortable and had a double-volume ceiling in the living and dining areas, which gave the grand illusion of space and we appreciated that, beds were comfortable and the bathroom was modern and the hot water pressure and temperature were perfect. Our kids asked if we could come back here to stay on our next trip to Rotorua, so we booked a second weekend the day we checked out of the townhouse.

There was a distinct smell of geothermal gas in the air. It wasn't extreme but not pleasant. Thankfully we found out that this only happens when the wind blows in a certain direction at a particular part of the year. We also didn't register that the townhouse we'd booked had only one bathroom and with a family of six it was a bit of a hassle. We did find out that there are lakefront chalets with two toilets, so we booked that for our next trip to Rotorua.

Kitchen had everything you needed. Well equipped with sharp knives and good quality pots/pans. Bathroom is basic but all you need. Super comfy beds and pillows. The place was warm and toasty arriving on a cold wet evening. The restaurant looks lovely and cosy, but did not eat there as only open in evenings and sundays. Tennis court is revamped and nice. Lots of board games etc to borrow. Kids enjoyed. This is our 5th stay over a few years.

The unit had a bit of a smell like curry lingering. The spa wasn’t very hot, suppose lots of people in and out as school hols. It was windy so lots of bits floating in the spa. Water didn’t feel clean and had hair floating around, the water seemed murky. I requested a unit on the canal but found to be far if with kids and wanting to walk to pool and tennis area all the time.

The property was like a home away from home. It was so warm & comfortable. The beds were amazing to sleep in & being on a family holiday it was great that we could cook our own meals. Being out of town it was so serene & had beautiful surroundings. I couldn’t speak more highly of the wonderful staff. They did everything to make our stay amazing. So thank you so much to all of them 😊

It was just a little bit out of town to buy groceries. But it was not a big issue as it was only 10-15min drive in & the scenery was beautiful. So you would need to have a car to be staying here.

The photos really don't do this resort justice. We had a 3 bedroom chalet that overlooked the lake and the views were stunning. The fireplace was a lovely touch too. It was right in the middle of the 2 activities we were doing in Rotorua (white water rafting and mud baths) but a good 20 mins or so out of town.

The restaurant is not always open and you are a long way from coffee or food so not sure how you would manage without your own transport. We ate on the first night at the VR resort down the road which was good. But definitely recommend taking some groceries if you don't want to travel to eat for each meal.

Very nice setting. We ve had booked a 3 bedroom seaview house which had been well equiped, spacious and confortable. Our first house had a bad cooking smell from previous tenant, so they ve arranged another house very quickly. Oni ( reception) is a darling, very competent and friendly. We ve have even got a bottle of wine as an apologie. Very professional !

Some parts of house 23 needs some fresh up renovation. House 25 was fine. Lots of non stingi g little flies in and outside

This was lovely two story spacious property on waterside, excellently equipped for full self catering experience. Pleasant strolling around grounds by river going into lake. Very comfortable. Own parking space near property. Friendly welcome and we enjoyed our stay very much with so much to explore in the wider area.

It didn't affect us too much, but it is at far end of lake from Rotorua itself so have to use car to get there. The patio onto waterside would have been lovely except for gulls and ducks being a nuisance because people will feed them! Disappointed that pool closed and limited opening hours of bar etc because early season but we imagine that privacy on patio would be compromised if place fully booked so appreciated the quiet.

We loved the resort as it was quiet and the apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Living area is downstairs and the bathroom and bedrooms were upstairs. There was a verandah to sit outside however it was a little too cold when we stayed in September and we could not use any of the outdoor facilities. In summer it would be even better though. The staff were wonderful - friendly and helpful to answer all your questions.

The resort is a 20min drive from Rotorua - we were aware of this and did not mind and I would rather stay here again then book sth in Rotorua. There is only a Mini Market close by for groceries so we recommend you buy any food you might need before your arrival. The only negative aspect for us was that the walls are very thin and you can hear your neighbours.

Great pool, quiet and pretty location. Very nice place to be. Amazing views of the lake. Good parking and comfortable accommodation. Laundry including washer and dryer in the room was great.

No curtains!!!! We had to rig up black out blinds. Seriously why would you have hotel rooms with blinds. It was like daytime at night. And with kids trying to sleep during daylight saving. Dreadful first night. Install curtains!!!!! Oh and the extra charge warning for not emptying the dishwasher? Really. I'm paying how much to wash dishes?
