The cabin we stayed at is small but for the price we paid for 4 nights - definitely reasonable. No complaints here. It has a small double bed and bunk. Small kitchen. Had a cook top, pans, plates, forks, spoon. Microwave, kettle and toaster. Water pressure was below average but it had hot water which was good. There was a small heater but not 100% confident it will do the job during winter. Doubled bed is adjacent to the bathroom so if someones on the bed and the other is using the toilet - you would hear all the activities in the toilet. Could not completely close the bathroom door due to the double bed. You can hear people outside from inside the cabin. There was a hot pool, pool, games room for kids and small playground. Laundry facilities - washer and dryer accept 2 x $2 coins. Common kitchen and dining as well. It is 5 minutes drive from New World Supermarket, walking distance to Te Puia. 5 minutes from Secrets Hot Tub. 11 minute drive from the town - don't forget to try El Mexicano Zapata and White Tiger Buffet in Rotorua. About 12 minutes away from Redwoods Tree Top - Redwoods Altitude is a must but not for the faint hearted. If you have children (or if you are a child at heart and into games) and looking to spend some down tie. - check out Motion Emtertainment - it is a playground - costs about $17.50 per attraction.

The cabin was small but expected.

Spacious park setting is fabulous. Great BBQ areas, excellent facilities in units. Our extended family was spread over three cabins and a tent site. We thoroughly enjoyed our get togethers at the top covered BBQ area. Each also enjoyed their own well equipped accommodation. Shared kitchen and lounge areas are also great. Excellent tennis court and field. Pool and hot pools were also excellent. A bigger swimming pool would add to the enjoyment. The entire campus including grounds, equipment and facilities is maintained to a high standard.

Those not in self contained units often had to queue for showers. More showers would add to the comfort and convenience for those not in self contained cabins. As the swimming pool is quite small a few silly unsupervised children spoiled it for others on occasion by running and jumping in.

Love the security of handing your number plate in to enter into the park as it took a photo for the gate to open, made me feel safe and secure and thought how neat of an idea it was ( just don't be like me and give over your number plate if your driving a different car lol, it wont work) easy entrance. The lovely lady who greeted me on arrival was so welcoming, she was very informative on how to enter the park, showed me briefly how to get to my room which was a big help as it is a very beautiful and big park. The Family Basic Cabin was perfect for 2 adults, 2 middle aged primary school children and 1 toddler, the beds were comfortable, it has a little kitchen with a stove and oven so you can cook your meals. The hot pools was the highlight, so clean and really warm, I would definitely return Thank you so much for a pleasant experience

There's nothing I didn't like

Stayed: 5th–7th May | Accommodation: Standard Log Cabin with Shared Bathroom We had a great 2-night stay in a Standard Log Cabin. The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Perfect after long days exploring Rotorua. The shared bathroom facilities were clean with good water pressure in the shower, and the onsite hot pools were relaxing and well maintained. One of the cleaners truly went above and beyond. After we had checked out, we realised we’d left our wallet in the room. As we were driving back to retrieve it, the cleaner was already running it out to us, trying to catch us before we left. It was such a thoughtful and kind gesture that left a lasting impression. We’d definitely recommend Rotorua Thermal Holiday Park to anyone visiting the area. It’s clean, relaxing, and run by genuinely good people.

Location is great! 5-15min drive from everything we did. We stayed with extended family and was great, we were all so close but still had our own privacy. There’s washing lines to use but need own pegs. Dryers were great! We were lucky to have a room with a washing machine made our trip much easier. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Including aircon. Kids loved the pool options they walked down every afternoon, cold for when it was hot and then hot pools for when it got too cold. It was fantastic. It was quiet. No dramas with any noise etc. staff were all so lovely and welcoming. Check in and check out was a breeze. Would definitely stay again.

We loved everything!

Welcome at Reception on arrival. Mattresses were comfy for bunkbeds (would be great if could have a twin cabin with single beds not bunks as this would make the beds super comfy - although we did know it was bunks when booking).. Extension lead for plugging in the phone charger. Showers were hot. Pools were quiet.

Worker putting sheets in cabins had music on loud in van with door open from 8am. The bass from the music woke me up. I assumed it was another guest behind our cabin initially then in front until I came outside to see the van. Person on reception on checkout didn't seem interested.

Nice area and the whole park was well organized. Hot pool is great. The electric heater is so helpful, especially in the cold rainy day👍

Some facilities are a bit old. Like the hose of the shower in the bathroom really needs to be replaced. It looks scary and rusty, which might be broken at any moment. The bed cover and the blanket looks not clean enough, but luckily the clean bedsheets were provided so that we could use those close to skin.

Location wise close to town, 8min drive. Self-contained cabins were very cozy. The wall heater and electrical rack dryer were very useful. The shower was great, and the hot water temperature and pressure were good. All the basic necessities there. Hot pools were awesome. Overall, it was a great experience. Good value for your money

Bad wifi and mobile coverage. I only had 1 bar on my phone and I had to use my own mobile data most of the time.

Perfect location, very good price for a stopover, classic family holiday park. We were impressed with the hot pools and there is games equipment you can borrow, also the laundry and kitchen facilities were both clean and big enough for the whole park. We had a basic cabin and it was basic but had beds, bedding and towels and pots and pans - everything we needed.

Some of the communal areas were a little outdated. Kitchen kit in basic cabin missing a couple of assumed essentials such as chopping board and knife.

Kids love the pool. Family self contained unit served us well. Great location for us as close to where we needed to be.

Matresses in bunk room bit soft for an adult. Place is clean, however everything needs a deep clean, ie. mould around door and window frames. Hot pools area need a waterblast above waterline. Roads could do with a reseal, and concrete instead of dirt infront of bunkrooms, however nothing that would stop us from booking again. BBQ up the top of the hill needs a good clean, and would be ideal under cover.
