I came to Rotorua for an event that ran late. The lady at reception at the hotel called me about check in - after check in had closed for the day - to let me know to come right away to get my key. I appreciated that.

The TV did not work. It turned on and the words that come up to let you know what channel you are on came on but there was no picture behind it of the show that should have been on. It was just a blank black screen. We let the front desk know in the morning (because we wanted to watch the All Blacks game) but the staff member couldn't get it working. We were offered another room with a working tv but since we were running late about to check out, we left it.

Very easy car access to the ground floor apartment. Very spacious room with high ceiling so it feels even larger. The bathroom / toilet area is another pretty large room. The daily room cleaning was very good I especially noticed the cleaning of the kitchenette was great. The driving access to/from all directions is very good they have 3 driveways. Even my room facing the main road Fenton Street was not noticeably noisy (traffic).

The only problem I found was that the little fridge was noisy, gosh it was very noisy! I was glad to have earplugs because of that one problem. When I arrived I didn't see any way of controlling the room temperature - there was no obvious heat pump, air con or radiator appliances. However it was perfectly fine (the month of March in NZ) even though the weather outside was unseasonably cold. I assume it's probably heated by geothermal but if you got too cold or too hot I'm not sure what you would do! I didn't have time to ask the staff about it as I was arriving in late evenings and out early mornings.

Overall our stay at Devonwood was amazing and relaxing. When we first arrived my partner and I were lucky enough to score a bigger room to what we actually booked (Sml double room) and it wasn't because of any inconvenience but the lady at reception was just so so nice and offered it to us. Room was clean and had a lot of space for just 2 people. You can tell the sheets, beddings and kitchen utensils were clean. Room had a tv and sky. Motel wasn't hard to find because it's literally in the corner on Fenton road at the roundabout - so the access to the motel and out of the motel was easy if you're going either way. Could always ask reception for more info on where to visit in Rotorua, I had requested for no room service due to privacy but will leave used towels and rubbish just outside the door - the receptionist was very understanding and made sure our wet towels, face towels etc. were collected every morning. Pool was nice and warm so you can just jump in without doing feet first haha Overall the staff and our stay was amazing!! - definitely recommend this motel to people visiting Rotorua. :)

- Sky remote would work sometimes. - Shower head definitely needs replacing. - Washing machine and Dryer needs replacing (Dryer didnt dry my clothes :( )

Right on Fenton we walked to the lake front. Equipped with what motels normally have: utensils, small pot and pan, brush, dishwashing liquid. Mini fridge, microwave and mini stove. We only used the fridge. They would change the towels daily. We had a fan in the room that we used at night. For three people they assigned one of the Large Studio rooms with a king bed and a twin bed.

The pool was a great temperature, the room was comfortable and had all we needed and the lady on reception was friendly and helpful. We were even allowed to leave our car there after checkout while we got breakfast

It had a private spa attached to the room. I was given the wrong room but they let me stay in there anyway. Luxury.

The interior was dated and a bit rough round the edges. Bit all over clean.

Devenwood Motel is a great place to stay. Rooms are lovely and beds are very comfortable . Roslyn at the reception was very nice and helpful through out our stay. She is such a lovely person very kind and easy going, Devenwood is just past the main shopping area so you don't get the noise busy areas bring., Great parking near your door. Kitchen was a good size and fridge was great. We will suggest Devenwood Motel to our friends that are planning a trip to New Zealand

Spacious and clean room with everything you need for a comfortable stay. A lot cleaner and cozier than some higher rated places we've stayed at.

The curtains in the room were quite dusty and the one in the bathroom had better days.

Fit for purpose, clean, fridge and kettle, glasses and mugs, free parking

Carpet and bathroom fittings a bit tired, spring noticeable in bed, no plates or cutlery other than teaspoons

Spacious and exceptionally well lit ....not dim like often motels are!New electrical jug,toaster microwave.Comfy bed

Metal chairs with no cushion were cold to sit on.No soft chair or sofa.
