The location and the staff make the stay at Sudima. Upon check-in, I was greeted with a beautiful reo Māori greeting and friendly face. She was very warm and made sure we knew exactly where we were going. The room was spacious, the view amazing, the kai at Ōkāreka was impeccable with the beautiful māori staff going above and beyond during both dinner and breakfast. They made our family feel welcomed and we all enjoyed our brief stay away, even providing additional heaters when we mentioned that we were cold. The staff absolutely make the stay!!

Facilities are very dated and old. They are in dire need of a refresh. Some parts of our apartment were broken, drafty and needing an update. We also questioned the safety in our block where anyone could access the external elevator and enter our hotel floor

Great place to stay, super clean and very well staffed. Could not fault anything, staff were so helpful any time of the day or night you can always get assistance with anything you need. Another plus was plenty of free parking. Past experience at another Hotel had us parking on street and moving cars twice a day so we didn't get a parking fine. They only had expensive onsite valet parking. Check before you book in Rotorua as the parking police are very present during the day.

The 2nd room that was allocated us was very comfortable and cozy. Cleaning services was attended to. My whole family enjoyed the stay. The late check out at 11am was a bonus for us.

The original room that was allocated for us, was not that great. We had an issue and reported it immediately to the front desk and they allocated us a better room. Which I thought was awesome service. Your heated pool is surely not heated. I think you could do better with the temperature of the pool.

We were in Rotorua unfortunately for my mum's funeral. We needed 4 rooms for my siblings and their partners and kids and myself and kids and for my dad. They were very accommodating in trying to have us all as close as possible to each other. They found out we were there for my mum's funeral and they went above and beyond to help us out with anything we needed or to make it as comfortable and easy as possible for our stay there. Helped us with printing, getting us a breakfast table, opening the bar earlier, helping us out with the kids and sending us flowers and a lovely note to our room! Amazing service, thankyou so much Sudima! It meant so much.

Room service! The burger and fries were exactly what I hoped for. The steam pudding and custard was so yummy but so sad it wasn't hot. Simple and very quick check-in. No fuss.

The front desk team was fabulous at check-in! Very professional and attentive. Sadly, when I checked out at 5 AM, the young man tried to seem enthusiastic, I'll give him that, but he did seem like he wasn't enjoying what he was doing. I had a lot of luggage, so an offer of some help would have been welcome. It's not really a reason to change my rating, though.

We visited Rotorua four times in 2023 and we stayed at Sudima every time. It’s in a great location, close to everything and easy to find on Maps.

Not much. We would have like our usual room, as we have two young children. During our last stay, they had us in a room with a glass sliding door that lead to the carpark. Not ideal with young kids, but we made it work. If it was a real issue, we would have told staff and I’m sure they would accomodation. However, it was a short stay and not worth the hassle of moving.

With excellent facilities right there such as the restaurant we arrived later than originally planned and were still able to get a meal and didn't have go out to find somewhere to have breakfast. The staff were friendly and the bed was very comfortable.

A very minor criticism there could have been a couple of extra instant coffee sachets and all light bulbs in our room weren't working.

The location is great, close to Polynesian spa, Gover nment gardens and the mall, pak n save. The bed was very comfortable and good air conditioning. Fresh towels daily and replenishing of coffee/tea/milk.

There wasn't really anything to watch on the Tv but YouTube or have to have your own netflix account. The bathroom could do with a bit of a better clean.

Staff were amazingly friendly, and ready to help. We got a free room upgrade on arrival - thank you. The gent in charge of breakfast allowed me to grab a free croissant from the buffet, even though I had a very delicious À la carte order. Nothing was too much problem for the very friendly and attentive staff.

We had a fan from an air extract/feed ducted system create some white noise during our sleep, which didn't worry us too much once we got used to it. A fire alarm went off in an adjacent building which was unfortunate - but not an issue caused by Sudima.

Location was central and very convenient the premises was nice and clean and beautiful the staff were friendly quality food and service

Our room wasn’t attended too during the 5 nights of our stay even when we ask the house cleaners if they could just touch up the room, just needed a little bit of vacuuming.
