Having stayed here on the 4/11/24, I was pleasantly reminded of a time when everyone whom greeted you, greeted you the way we were treated. With genuine, sincere, willingness. The rooms are immaculate. The view from the top floor....mesmerizing. The service....unparalleled and unrivaled. This is such a pleasant, relaxing, homely place to stay. Rarely have I felt the need to commend anyone before, but this place is quite literally stunning. I will DEFINITELY be returning to THIS astounding establishment. Peter is without a doubt one of the most helpful, sincere, genuine, typically "Kiwi" hosts I've ever had the pleasure of meeting. Well done sir.

TL;DR: Perfect family stay — clean, quiet and incredibly relaxing with everything you need. We stayed in the deluxe one-bedroom apartment and loved every bit of it.. it's an incredible property. The space was spotless, peaceful, and had a stunning view of Lake Taupō. It was ideal for a couple with a young child as it's fully equipped for a comfortable, self-sufficient stay. A special mention for the electric blankets which were a great treat for the icy Taupō night. The pool and spa were an awesome bonus, too. There is a smart TV and huge spa bath in this apartment as well. The location was great as we had a car and everything was only a quick drive away, and Woolworths a minute up the road. Charis was genuinely warm and welcoming, which made our experience even better. We highly recommend Anchorage Resort to anyone looking to unwind and recharge.

We stayed 2 nights at the Anchorage Resort which is a lovely place to stay. On arrival we were given lots of info about the area and local activities. The heated pool and hot tub was fantastic and we used the BQ facilities. The apartment was a good size and comfortable and easy access to our car. The boat club is opposite which was perfect to see the sun set and services really great pizza. The resort is located a good walk into the centre but could walk or easy to park in the shopping area ( free) . We definitely recommend staying here.

The hosts were amazing. The rooms were very clean tidy and had everything you needed for your stay. The rooms were warm and the property was child friendly. The hot pool was amazing and the swimming pool was awesome for the kids. It was my birthday and my husband rang the property and asked them to decorate our room for me as a surprise, the hosts went above and beyond to ensure this was done before we arrived. The hosts are amazing people and very helpful, thank you Peter and wife for your amazing hospitality we will definitely be back again!

Nothing everything was perfect for us

Got a phone call a few days before our stay to say they needed our ground room , so they up grading us to a room with a view upstairs. Had trouble with the neighbours the 1st night (playing games all night), when I spoke to the manager they moved us to opposite end, nothing was a problem. Great service, would recommend staying there every time. The spa and outdoor pool are great for relaxing in. One great thing is you don’t need to leave the property if you don’t want too.

Everything was perfect upon arrival. Im not too sure if we got upgraded cause i booked a 1 bdrm unit but got 2 bdrms. The pool was perfect and the spa was perfect for our winter stay. The baby pool is a bonus as we havnt been to much accomodations with a baby pool. Location is on the main road but its still quiet as if your away from the city hussle. They have every emenities you need to cook, clean relax etc and it was spacious enough for my 14 month old son to still run and play. Will definitly be coming back. One of the cutest locations to date for me and my family. 🫶

The de luxe room was bigger than what we expected. It has a beautiful lake and pool view. The hot pool was nice. You also have your own parking. You have kitchen stuff needed if you would like to cook something. Beds are comfy and all have warming blanket (perfect because of the season). There is a heater in the room besides the heat pump in the lounge. The lounge is spacious. It is actually nice to stay and relax here the whole day.

Big lack of plugs in the bedrooms. We couldn't plug in the fan in the kids bedroom as there was nothing to plug it into and it was really hot. We went out and bought an extension cord so that I could plug it into the lounge. The master didn't have any plugs for our phones.

A 1 night stay to break up our journey from Wellington to Hamilton. Large 1 bedroom apartment which was very well organised and clean. Two large sofas made for a comfortable relaxing evening. The pool is small but the hot tub (no bubbles) was heated to 38 degrees. Both were enjoyable. The kitchen (no oven) had everything you needed to prepare a meal. The staff were friendly and provided a bottle of milk for a much needed cup of tea

You will need a car to access the local supermarket.

They have cats!!!! Best part of the trip was cuddles with the cat in the afternoon. Location is amazing!! Gorgeous view of the lake from the hot tub. Walk across the road and you’re at the lake. Pool is really great for families and nicely kept. Three different temperatures depending on what pool/tub you get into. Gorgeous gardens. Parking was right outside door. And more parking for guests if needed. Our apartment was perfect. Fantastic size. The bedroom even fit our baby’s portacot. TV has movie channels which was a nice way to relax in the evening. Kitchen had everything you’d need in it while away. Staff are friendly.

The information booklets they give out need updating. They said they offered cold breakfasts or hot breakfasts if you organised it the day before. But when we went to organise they said they didn’t do it anymore which was a shame. Sheets were a little stiff for our liking but bed was clean and mattress and pillows were super comfortable Wifi was patchy.
