I liked the structure of the rooms. There were many windows so it allowed sunlight in the room. There was a kitchenette, bathroom, dining table in tge living room and a bedroom with a comfortable bed. There was an iron and iron table, closet, and heaters. Just exactly how it was described. The floors were carpet so it wasnt cold for the feet. There were plenty of supermarkets infront of the hotel where you can buy things to cook at your appartment. There was a mc donnalds too, an atm machine and so much more! Cuba street is a street away where all cafes and restaurants! And the hotel was not far away from Victoria University and the Takina convention centre where my conference was.

I could not get a refund for the 2 nights i missed. I had issues with my flight and couldnt arrive on the expected date. I informed the hotel one day before this had happened but they couldn't help because it was done through booking.com. i couldn't get my money back because it was non refundable. I thought it was not fair.

The view over harbour from 13th floor apartment was delightful - constantly changing. Excellent location for access to harbour, easy walks to Te Papa museum etc, cable car to Botanic Garden and Zealandia. Staff at Reception very helpful with several issues - but a failed light globe could not be replaced during our 4 days because the maintenance person was unwell. Guest laundry useful - less expensive and much easier than commercial laundromat - none close by.

The lack of an exhaust fan in the bathroom was concerning - mouldy smell. But towels changed every day even when we did not request this. Failure to replace reading light globe over sofa during our stay - there should be a backup person to do this if maintenance person unavailable.

Overall, the hotel is going through some renovations. However, it is definitely below standard and not the 4 stars that were advertised. Positives - The staff were amazing (Briar, Vanya, and Heather), and they were so helpful in making our stay comfortable. - The location is central and allows for walking to major points. - The renovated room that we were sent to was a thousand fold better but still not comparable to other Mercures that we have been to. Negatives - The beds are horrible. All 4 of us struggled to get a decent night of sleep. Upgrade needed - The shower head needed changing as it sprayed everywhere, but the body. - The lights are too bright for a room indoors, and if a night light is needed, then there isn't a softer option. Neutrals - The room doesn't have an AC, but they have a fan that does a good job of cooling the room. Don't know how this works in hotter months - They hotel is in the process of being upgraded, but the quality of upgrade is average.

The reception person was lovely and very helpful. Bed was very comfy. Shower was simple and did the job. Wifi was also pretty good! I enjoyed the partial sea view.

I didn't like how I couldn't control any lights from the bed. I also had to borrow batteries from the living room remote to use the bedroom remote. I left them with a note, though, so I'm sure they will have been replaced! One other thing: the word apartment may be used loosely here. There was a microwave but no plates or cutlery. I didn't need to cook but if I had needed to, I feel it would have been odd that they were not provided given it's an apartment not just a hotel room.

The location was convenient for travelling by coach as we were, and for finding our way around the city. Our room was on one of the higher floors with lovely city views, especially by the almost full moon! The apartment was spacious and comfortable and well equipped though we did eat out in the evening. Staff helpful and friendly. It suited our needs well.

The lift shaft was next to our room, and on the second night it was in fairly frequent use until about midnight which was a bit disturbing but probably also accounted for the room being very affordable.

The location was excellent, close to everything I needed. The room was very clean and almost everything (except fan) was in very good order. It felt like it had been refurbished not too long ago. The room and bedroom were also spacious and had a view of the surrounding city and harbour. Bed, shower, staff - all good. I wasn't sure where to park but there is a Wilsons carpark nearby.

I'm being picky here, very minor issues - the bathroom fan was rather noisy. The milk was supplied in little thimbles, so tiny, I needed 4 for one coffee and that was all there was in the room.

Clean, comfortable and warm.

1. Metal fittings in the bathroom were loose... toilet roll holder and tap faucet. I reported this when checking out. 2. I was not told on checking in, who the server was for Wifi, despite being told the password for Wifi. I had to ask at the desk the next day. 3. Does your Hotel have a dining room? I was not told on arrival, so had to find alternative places to eat. 4. I was not told on arrival that I needed to use the door access card to also operate the LIft. A kind gentleman visitor informed me!

What a surprise: I got a studio on the 12th floor with amazing views towards the harbour. Very spacious, very comfortable room with a desk and chair, sofa, coffee, fridge, etc. Bedroom also nice and spacious. Awesome central location. I will book again!

Bathroom was huge, and because of ventilation directly to the outside relatively cold. But they had a heating unit installed that helped with the issue.

Centrally located to nightlife and cheap eating places. Very clean, spacious one bedroom apartment. TV and heaters are located in the bedroom and also in the living room. Electric kettle, Microwave and refrigerator are provided. Bathroom is spacious with shampoo, conditioner and liquid soap. 24hr reception and able to leave luggage after checkout.

No plates and cutlery apart from cups and teaspoons.
