Loved my stay at Tryp. Location was excellent, close to Te Papa, bus to airport, cafes and cbd 10 mins away. Down the street to the harbour as well. The staff were friendly and professional. My room was made up each day, modern and very clean. Stayed in the room with the washer and dryer and it was worth it. Location was convenient to tour pick ups. Fruit, coffee juices, lollies free at the reception/foyer area all day long. I highly recommend the Tryp. Value for money as well.

My favourite hotel in the city to stay at. My second time staying here and I think this will be my go to hotel from now. 1. Love how central this hotel is 2. Love how clean the hotel is 3. Love how spacious the rooms are 4. Love how the rooms have everything you need from cooking facilities, washing facilities, pots, pans, laundry detergent, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer. You literallty just need to bring clothes. 5. Love the easy check in check out service

My card didn't work for the gym - I'm wondering if it was just the times I tried to use it. But that's not a deal breaker as the waterfront was right on my doorstep to go for my morning run

Lovely well equipped room, everything you would need, loved the artwork as well. Great appliances and full sized fridge/freezer in our room. Fantastic staff, very helpful and security conscious. Nice sized balcony with table and chairs. Our rooms dining area was great for us to play cards and have a couple of drinks. Comfortable bed and lovely bathroom with a fantastic sized shower, lighted mirror and heated towel rail. Double glazing meant the room was quiet. Complimentary breakfast was a lovely addition, toast, cereal, tea, coffee and juices made our mornings easy, seating is limited but heaps of time to get in and eat. Central city location meant we were close to New World, shopping, restaurants and waterfront walks, a block away from Te Papa Would definitely stay here again.

Very minor (wasn’t an issue for us) but some guests may not like the aroma of food when you open out onto the balcony. You are inner city and next to a lot of restaurants

Large and beautiful bathroom!!! Bed was warm and comfy. Plenty of good lighting and the heat was easy to adjust. Various beverages and fruits were complimentary in the lobby. Staff was kind and helpful noting locations on a useful map.

Washer/dryer unit combo was difficult to figure out - a laminated card with instructions would be helpful for guests who don’t have this style at home. Took a long time to complete a load, used wrong settings and YouTube to help. Would be nice to have a small microwave, maybe that’s available in a higher room option.

The bedroom was clean, modern and very comfortable. There was a TV with Netflix. There were bedside tables and charging points by the bed. The en-suite bathroom was clean and modern and equipped with toiletries. Towels were provided and there was daily room cleaning. Overall the bedroom felt very cosy. The hotel is in a good location within walking distance to the shops and restaurants - approx 5-10 mins. It’s also close to the bus stop that takes you to and from the airport.

The breakfast was very poor. There was only toast, a few spreads, and a bit of cereal. No pastries like croissants or pain au chocolat. No other continental offerings. No cooked breakfast.

Location. Lobby area is lovely and all the staff are so friendly. Complimentary breakfast and all day hot drinks were a lovely touch, also the sweet jars. Lighting in the room was good with plenty of options. Loved the electric blinds and the charging station. Waterfall shower and nice body cream. Velvet furniture and spacious wardrobe. I could talk about it for days!

Late night-early morning banging of doors and loud talking in the hallways - it may have been the placement of my room plus inconsiderate guests. I would still come back in a flash.

Comfortable and well-equipped room with above-average space for a studio. Hotel appears to be a recent refurbishment. Everything worked well, bed was comfortable, staff friendly and helpful. Room included microwave, hotplate, basic cooking equipment and clothes washer & dryer. A bonus was the complimentary light breakfast (juice, tea/coffee, cereal, yoghurt, fruit, bread/toast & jams, Gluten Free options) served in the foyer from 7am-11am. Location excellent - close to supermarket, restaurants, Te Papa, Takina Convention centre, and other city sights. Have recommended hotel to friends already.

The location is perfect! The king room studio 408 is a great size room.

This property does not have a continental or a full breakfast buffet. They do have a small menu for a cheeseboard and small snacks. There are some small touches in the rooms that need a little work, Like the curtains and hooks behind the bathroom door to hang up your towels and the bathroom amenities that are in the shower, do not actually dispense shower gel, shampoo and conditioner very well. If you are on floor 4 or 5 there is only one small elevator.

This is a smaller intimate hotel which was very comfortable. We had the penthouse suite which was absolutely spectacular with so much room for our group of 5 to spread out. The beds were so comfortable and each bedroom had its own bathroom. There is an enormous kitchen stocked with every possible gadget. The unit was so great that someone in our group didn’t even want to go see the sites- she just wanted to back in the luxury. It was also quite affordable since we split the cost among 5 people.

What I love about staying at TRYP is the instant comfort and warmth. It’s so nice to see familiar faces like Amy, Jennifer and Chris at Reception who are always so welcoming and helpful. Everything has been thought of to make this the perfect home away from home - with little touches like breakfast in the morning and NZ owned products from Ecoya. Aa a single woman, I have to take my personal safety into account and I always feel safe and secure - especially knowing there are two locked doors between myself and the hallway. The location is ideal for all the fun and excitement of Courtenay Place without all the noise! And it’s only a few minutes walk to Te Papa, Tākina Centre, Circa Theatre and all the fun of the waterfront. There is nowhere else I would stay in Wellington!
