Location was fantastic… right near the entrance to the castle. Very little traffic noise. Helpful little kitchenette. Great base for exploring the city.

Beds were really uncomfortable… unless you like really hard beds. Really difficult to stop the front door crashing shut, so that was noisy at times. Not much of a view from the apartment we had, although the pictures make it look as though there is a view across to the river (we think from one of the top floor apartments?). Also not a proper balcony that you can sit on. We did know this before we went, but the information on booking.com is not clear enough.

We chose to get a taxi from the airport via the host as we were arriving in the evening and wanted an easy transfer. Highly recommend this option at any time of day as finding the property might have been difficult without our taxi driver who very kindly showed us right to the door. Apartment was really quiet at night and very comfy so slept well. Liked having a fridge so we could keep drinks and fruit.. Liked the keypad entrance as saved carrying a key. Really appreciated the breakfast and dinner recommendations, used both breakfast recommendations and would highly recommend. Loved stepping out of the door and being near the castle. Anywhere in Lisbon will involve either walking up or down hills so being at the top of the hill was irrelevant and we were so near bus stop, tram stop, tourist bus stop, restaurants and excellent views over the city.

Perfect stay in a perfect apartment in a perfect location so nothing not to like!

We had a great stay at this apartment! The location is excellent for exploring the city – just a short walk to the castle, the city centre, and several miradouros. Communication with the hosts was smooth. The kitchen is quite small, but it had everything we needed. Peaceful atmosphere – even with the window open, there was no city noise, just the sound of birds.

One should have in mind that the apartment is on the hill, and the street is not accessible by car, so if you're traveling with heavy luggage, it might be a bit challenging.

It was a great location, and the hosts provided great tips and places to eat, things to do. My girlfriend also said she thought it was very clean.

The beds were a bit on the tough side so I couldn’t get a great sleep, and I had asked for a mattress topper but they were all in use. Also the air conditioning was giving trouble to last 2 nights as it wouldn’t stay on and was making a rumbling noise, wasn’t as cool as before. Also the hot water tank is a bit small so if you don’t shower quick it may get cold on you.

Cute and clean. Host was very warm and friendly. Very close to Castle St George. Restaurant next door is actually very good and just a few doors down is a very good gelateria and a few more doors down there is a great spot for Pasteis de nata.

Although the location is very good there are some drawbacks. It’s basically at the top of a hill. And, the area has limited traffic (a good thing) so you will be climbing a mountain every time you go home. Note, be sure your driver has pass to get into the area. Also, no elevator so be ready to haul your luggage up a few flights of narrow stairs. All in all minor inconveniences. We actually really enjoyed our stay there.

Castle Inn Lisbon is absolutely the top place to stay in Lisbon. From the moment of booking until our departure, we truly felt like guests of this extraordinary home. The location is beautiful, set on a charming street that is lively during the day, adding character to the place. However, at night, it is peaceful and quiet, allowing for complete relaxation. The owner has thought of every detail to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. We arrived early due to an early flight, and despite this, we were fully informed about where we could leave our luggage. Additionally, we were pleasantly surprised when we were notified that our room was ready earlier than expected. We were warmly welcomed by Sara, a delightful and friendly person who made sure our room was prepared and clearly explained all the details of our stay. Thank you, Sara! The owner regularly checked in to see if everything was okay and if we needed anything, which was very kind and indicative of the high level of service. In the room, we found a bottle of alkaline water, which was perfect for staying refreshed in the warm Lisbon climate – we highly recommend it to everyone! At the end of our stay, we were offered assistance in ordering a taxi, which could arrive right at the front entrance, another example of the excellent service provided.

10 out of 10j just don't seem enough. We hope to return here one day because it's truly worth it!

It was clean and very thoughtfully appointed. It even had a single cooking burner. Great water pressure and fluffy towels. Our room looked out on a narrow cobblestone street that had very little traffic noisy. It was right near the castle. Lots of little places to eat nearby. A very old historic part of Lisbon.

It was a long walk up the hill! However there was a bus (737) that went as far as the castle gate. The eateries were all very touristy, but very understandable as the castle is a major attraction. If you don’t like walking up hills and stairs this place is not for you.

The 2 strongest Points of Castle Inn Lisbon are the communicationa and care of the hosts and the location. Nadia and the rest of the staff were always helpful attending every request or concern that we had. The service that we get on a vacation is part of the positive experience and they were the best we have ever had. The second is the location: the best in Lisbon. 1 minute away from the castle at the heart of Old Lisbon and Alfama. That made our stay! They were very considerate in allowing us to leave our luggage in the building after the checkout! These small things are what made this whole thing a great stay!

Cleanliness and prompt reply from castle inn team. Also the location was really good ..so near miradouro de Santa Luzia, castelo de Sao Jorge, and pastel de nata shop Santo Antonio. Best pastel de nata place

Bathroom shower area was not draining quickly so moment start taking shower water would start to accumulate..so in between have to stop showering and wait until water is drained out. Also , if you sleep keeping windows open at night, in the morning flies come inside.

We loved our stay in the charming blue & white nautical themed Descobrimentos apartment with local views inside the castle on one side and river views on the other side. Unique experience living close to the castle peacocks too. Clean and safe, comfortable, well-appointed and true to photos. It’s a one bedroom with separate kitchenette cum living room with a comfortable sofa bed. Full shower and toilet area with heated drying rack. Mini fridge and toastie maker + teas and kettle let us make some wonderful snacks with fresh local produce. Appreciated being able to leave our luggage inside the locked main door after checkout if needed.

It’s a climb up the hill to get back home every night and then a couple of flights of stairs to get to our flat (no lift). It’s good exercise but can be tiring after a full day out. Only taxis can drive up to the door-step (private hire cars will drop you and bags outside the castle gates and you’ll need to bring them up yourself). Would be great if there was a washing machine to do laundry (esp when travelling with kids).
