This property in my opinion was off the beaten path in my opinion and I mean that as in no British as I am British and didn’t want to be near hundreds of Brits. It was up hill, and was quite secluded and quiet too. Although there were quite a few restaurants, cafes and bars nearby which was good too. The rooms were quite roomy, clean and the view on the balcony/ terrace was quite beautiful although the best view was the receptionist and her top shelf which was absolutely spectacular when coming back each night
The only issue I had with the property was having to ring the bell to get in each night but that wasn’t that bad.

Amazing views and great access to the castle and monastery, as well as lots of cafes and souvenir shopping. You’re either going up or down a steep hill or stairs mo matter where you go in Lisbon so you might as well stay up high with a nice view. Hostel had everything you might need. It was relatively quiet and I appreciated the excellent hospitality of the people who worked there.
As with most hostels, the shower floors are slippery as all heck and there’s not much privacy around showering. The only problem I had was that the toilet on the other side of the wall from my bed was running off and on all night, which was a little annoying.

Great way to meet people and get some travel recommendations for the area. Everyone was so open and friendly, most staff included. The terras outside has an amazing view and is so welcoming. Good home base for exploring lisbon. Pretty close to everything. Good kitchen too! Although it's pretty small and busy at times, it had everything we needed and free coffee/tea. You can rent towels for 2 euro. Super handy!
The showers sometimes took a while to heat up, or never did. And of course, don't expect too much privacy.

Great location in the old town, and 10 minutes walk down to Martim Moniz square. The views on the terrace are fantastic. The staff are very kind and friendly, very helpful and cook lovely eggs for breakfast in the morning! The breakfast was fantastic, so much choice, and great value for money, just 4 euros! The beds and pillows were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean, and always well stocked with toilet paper. It was quiet at night, and the rooms were a good temperature, not hot or stuffy. Loved it here!

In This is Lisbon I stayed for the first time over 10 years ago. I chose to book in part due to some nostalgia. Needless to say my stopover here was wonderful this time as well, it could not be better. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the staff is welcoming and genuinely supportive. Pleasant breakfast, the terrace with a view is still as amazing as it was. I borrowed a yoga mat from the hostel and practiced in the morning. Great sense of being in a good place that has values and integrity. Thanks for everything!
Everything was perfect

Mainly the staff who were the kindest, friendliest people we've ever met in a hostel. Very chill, always available, always smiling. The location was perfect: quiet, central and well connected. The property itself was beautiful too: lovely bare floor boards, clean, spacious, stylish decor throughout, highly organised kitchen/cooking/breakfast regimen, beautiful rooms (we had a private room with direct access to the terrace, and, of course, the terrace itself (the terrace being, for us, the most crucial element – it was clean, spacious, beautifully appointed and with the best view we've ever come across in a city centre hostel), well thought-out bathroom facilities despite being communal and well... I could go on for a while :)
Everything was fabulous

The view from the terrace was great and the rooms were spacious and included small lockers (with their own lock and key, no padlock needed) for our things. I don't know if my timing was just lucky, but the hostel was also exceptionally quiet. No partying or loud noises. You can also ask the staff to wash your things for a small fee (I think it was four euros) and if you wash things yourself/need to dry your towel etc, there is some drying space outside (huge plus for me). Finally, I very much appreciated that a couple of days before you arrive, they sent an email with detailed instructions of how to get there with minimum walking effort (the hostel is up the hill and google maps doesn't give you the best solution).

I stayed in this hostel for two weeks. I felt like it was a family. The spaces are small, but this makes the atmosphere more intimate and facilitates communication without forcing it. All the staff members that I met during these two weeks were amazing: Anastasia, Camillo, Flavio, Leon, Sebastian, and last but not least, Tanya. They all contributed to making me feel at home and comfortable. Hope to come back and meet them again! ps The terrace is a gem.
Due to space constraints, not highly recommended for remote workers who plan to work in part from there.

I totally liked everything about here. It won my heart with its location, facilities, magnificent terrace, breakfast facilities, cleanliness, comfort of the beds and especially its employees. It's a very friendly atmosphere, you can meet other people staying at the hotel and go out in the evening. Everyone was so sweet. It is also very close to amazing places where you can go to watch the sunset. Since transportation throughout the city is provided by walking, you can reach anywhere you want in 20-40 minutes by walking from here. I met four employees in three days and they were all very friendly, cheerful, fun and helpful. Thank you very much everyone. Hope to see you again..
Nothing.

Superb location, really helpful and friendly staff, great views from terrace. Option of breakfast with freshly made omelette, yummy. Daily recommendations for activities, washing machine available for a good price, nice clean kitchen with all appliances and free coffee/tea.
Not a lot of storage space (only small locker under bed) and one hanger per person. Bathrooms okay but did not seem cleaned very often. Loud buzzer noise heard throughout the hostel every time someone rings the bell.
