Although some minor areas potentially need some updates, room itself & location is perfect for a short stay in Lisbon if you prefer using public transit vs taxis to & from airport. 3 min walk from Saldaha metro station via bicycle lane (i.e. dont need to drag your luggage on cobblestones). It is not in a overly touristy part of town but historical center quickly can be reached by metro. There are a few restaurants nearby, one that is open till 3 am & serves food for late arrivals & a big grocery store within 8 min walk on the same street ( open till 9pm). Room was quite spacious for a double & had balcony with patio furniture, mini fridge, big closet with hangers & a safe, stand to open the luggage comfortably, night stands with convinient usb & charger plugs, TV, kettle with instant tea & coffee options, big bottle of water, shampoo, excellent water pressure, hairdryer & a full size mirror!! The room was impecably clean & had modern minimalistic design with comfy bed (2 single beds right beside each other) & pillows. Travelled in Nov'23 so cant comment on aircon & didn't try the breakfast, but it had scrambled eggs, selection of cold cuts, cheese & some pastries.  The staff was excellent! Super easy check-in/out & they gave amazing recommendations that made my stay so much more interesting.  Wish there were more places like that everywhere. Simple but had everything you need.  Would stay again & recommend to consider for your stay.

Good location, close to metro station. Different shops and breakfast bars nearby. Room small but clean with good shower. Wifi worked well.

Window of my room was not with a street view but on the other side where small patios/gardens of surrounding buildings are located. In one of those (just next to the hotel) someone has a farm of chickens and a ROOSTER which started crowing before 6am each morning with a frequency of 3 minutes... until at least 11. So there was NO CHANCE to have a peaceful sleep. If you really want to rest and have a good sleep - ask for a room with street view! Use of elevator requires a door card. Main entrance door is closed for the night and so you also need a door card to open it. Room was very small.

I booked a room for 3 and I was happy that they had one with a nice and comfortable bed. The room was clean, the bathroom was also clean. We had a nice balcony. Staff was very nice. They let us store the luggage at the reception before the check-in which was very helpful. The amenities in the bathroom had such a nice smell. And we had biscuits, coffe and water in the room for free which was very nice.

They do not have an iron, not in the room and not at the reception which I find it a little strange in 2023 to not have at least one iron for the enitre hotel. Breakfast was ok, not so many choices and the coffee had a strange taste.

We stayed at Hotel Canada for 7 nights and had a very pleasant stay. Great value for money. The staff was very friendly, professional and always ready to help. The room was decent sized, very comfortable and clean, with balcony. We had a small fridge and electric kettle, which was very useful. Every day cleaning and changing towels. Excellent Wi-Fi. Air conditioner in the room worked very well, so the heating was fine. We had a flight at 23.00h, and after check out at 12.00, we left our luggage in the hotel, for free. Excellent location of the hotel, a lot of cafes, bakeries, supermarkets and restaurants in the neighborhood, very close to Saldanha metro station (red line, across the street), very safe area. Red metro line leads directly to the airport.

Buffet breakfast is OK, but could have been with more varieties

The room would be a great home base for travels to Lisbon. We arrived late (past midnight) and the 24hr reception was great to have. It was a simple room, but clean and as promised. We had three twins, one separate and two pushed together. It was very hard to find a room for 3 people in Lisbon. There was a full patio on our room, and air conditioning (once we figured out how to use it). The metro stop on the red line is literally right across the street and up about 50meters, very convenient for public transport. The building itself seems older (Lisbon is on old city, so no surprise there) and it shows its age in the stairwells and so on, but you can tell the rooms have been renovated and they've done a good job! Would stay again.

I kept getting a lot of spam messages from the hotel's account on Booking.com asking for me to resend my info to confirm the booking (that we'd already made and paid for). It wasn't actually coming from the hotel though, so I was a little worried about cyber security, however, I ignored the messages after contacting the hotel directly and have had no trouble with my credit cards thereafter.

The location is fantastic. A minute walk from Saldanha metro station on the Red Line. Although the room is small it had everything we needed. A balcony which is nice at the end of a tiring day walking and sightseeing to come back and enjoy a drink before heading out again. Comfortable bed, air con, a small bathroom but good shower. Breakfast was better than we expected. A good range of bread, rolls, cheese, scrambled eggs, teas etc. A pleasant breakfast room with an outside space to use as well.

The hotel does not allow drinking glasses in the room. Quite surprising, I have no idea why. I would have liked a proper glass to drink water from and china cups, not plastic. Very sharp corner on the shower, a bit of a hazard. But small details in comparison to the overall good points.

Great location (many shops and restaurants nearby), very close (3 min by foot) to "Saldanha" metro station (it reaches the airport and the "Oriente" bus station directly!!!). The rooms are cleaned every day, they're not too big but there's enough of space and it's convenient, we also had a private balcony; the shower was big and the water pressure was purely excellent!!! The breakfast is great, even though it's almost the same every day (but you get both hot and cold food as well as some great pastries). The staff is extremely friendly. There's an elevator. The beds are rather hard but not too bad, for me it was good, for a person with back problems might be a bit too hard. Overall a great hotel with so many pros and very few cons.

Nothing negative to point out. One of the best hotels I've been to for this amount of money (and I've been to many haha).

We stayed at Hotel Canada for the weekend and thought it was exceptional value for money. The staff are very friendly, in particular Deborah, who advised us on restaurants in the area. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. We opted for a balcony room and would highly recommend it. The location was great, right next to the metro with a supermarket, bakeries, and restaurants 2 min walk. It felt more like a 3-star hotel, and we will definitely stay here again if in Lisbon. Thanks, Deborah, for your help and advice.

It didn't distract from our stay, but I was surprised that the room only had paper cups and plastic tea cups. I prefer glass and proper cups. All other facilities were great.

Couldn’t recommend this hotel more!!! The rooms were very modern and clean!!! We stayed for 7 days and our room was serviced every single day with fresh sheets & towels. The location of the hotel is ideal with many restaurants nearby and Ubers into the city centre are significantly cheap. It was my birthday during our stay and I was given two pasteis de nata and a card which was very thoughtful. This trip was excellent thanks to hotel Canada.

The hotel is very close to the Metro station, & is located within easy reach of shops, bars, restaurants and Gulbenkian Museum. The hotel is immaculately kept, always spotlessly clean. The room was very comfortable & room clean daily. The staff were very friendly & helped with all our enquiries. Breakfast was good, choice of cereals, cakes, meat, cheese, fruits, etc.

The cooked elements of the breakfast could have varied, but was tasty. Our room was at the front of the building & we had a reasonable view from the balcony, but the rear of the property, where the outdoor breakfast area is, overlooks a derelict building.
