Perfect location, amazing rooftop bar, breathtaking view on entire Lisbon from rooftop private balconies. All the staff and each one from the staff are absolutely lovely people. So nice and so personal relationship with the guests regardless of how expensive or not your room is. We fell in love with this hotel.
The fact that this journey is over and we should leave.

The most outstanding aspect of the Hotel do Chiado is the 5-star hospitality and attention of the staff. The hotel was extremely well located, in the middle of the busy Chiado district, near many landmarks, restaurants, shopping, and tourist destinations. The service of the staff was unmatched, with every employee I encountered offering friendly, professional, and courteous service. The hotel added several very lovely personalized touches in welcoming me to the Hotel do Chiado. I booked a package which included a breakfast buffet and the buffet options were plenty, varied, and delicious. One could tell that the morning chefs truly cared about perfecting each dish. The hotel even prepared special substitutions to accommodate my dietary restriction, and this was noticed and actively addressed by different staff members each time I arrived for breakfast. An automatic coffee machine ground beans and prepared coffee to order. The machine offered many beverage choices and the staff allowed me to enjoy coffee at the table at my leisure. The hotel room itself was very spacious and well-appointed. It felt like I had my own Chiado apartment for the week. It had an entry area with a coffee machine, a bathroom with shower which provided hot water and great pressure immediately, a spacious armoire closet, a mini-bar refrigerator, a desk, chaise, and television chairs with contemporary and beautiful lighting. The hotel also offered interesting gallery exhibits in the hallways, beautiful art on the newly-renovated restaurant walls, and information about local art installations and visiting artists. The bar offered indoor, outdoor patio, and garden seating, and had a wonderful view of Lisbon, from the castle to the river. I would stay here again, and perhaps request a suite with a balcony to enjoy the wonderful view!
The noise level from both the street and from inside the hotel was sometimes loud. Although the hotel seemed like a renovated property, some of the details didn’t quite function well. The towel pegs in the bathroom did not hold the towels (they immediately slid off onto the floor), the hair dryer was quite old and outdated (although functioned), the furniture was on the more basic side, and the mattress was very firm. There were no USB or phone charging outlets that I could see, but there were plenty of regular electrical outlets. Due to the shape of the outlet, my American converter would not fit, but I was able to use a tiny adapter to make use of the outlets.

Wow this property is in the center of Lisbon’s attractions and close to everything. The views from the rooftop bar/terrace are best in the city. Our room (614) on the eastern side had a balcony and looked straight up to the castle. Breakfast was included and was delicious! The hotel sits on top of the metro stop so you can access everywhere , but also trams run a few streets away. The beds are really comfortable and of course there are beautiful soaps and bathroom products. It’s all very luxurious! The staff were always accommodating and professional and really wanted to ensure that everything was perfect for our stay.
The room had a coffee machine but not a kettle to make tea. It was easy to order on room service. This wasn’t a trend in other parts of the country but maybe it’s a Lisbon thing.

Great location in Chiado for walking to many tourist attractions and nearby restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised to get an upgrade for our room and received nice personal touches like a handwritten welcome note, pasteis de nata treats, a welcome drink for the roof top terrace. Thomas at the front desk offered helpful suggestions for a walking short cut to St. George's Castle. Joelba personally guided us to our room and David greeted us every morning at breakfast. Our room was clean and spacious with nice bathroom amenities. Nice breakfast options were available.
We would have liked to have breakfast start earlier than 7:30 a.m. since we needed to get an early start on a couple days.

The staff, food, location and stylish art filled public areas (hosts exhibitions in the corridors) with a stunning view over the city to Castel San Jorge and down to the River Tagus. Many reviews of the Hotel do Chiado said how wonderful the staff are, that is certainly true. We were warmly greeted outside of the door as our taxi drew up and shown to our rooms then guided round to the Bar/Restaurant and Breakfast Room. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, dealt well with my problems using the coffee machine and gave us a bottle of wine to compensate. As I was going out one morning the Receptionist expressed concern for my safety on the steep street, made slippery by the rain. I assured him I had sturdy trainers on and would go slowly. (In the Old City most of the streets are steeply sloping and paved with small irregular tiles or stones, trainers or walking shoes a must). The Breakfasts were very good and the Lunches / Dinners exceptional. The staff of the Rooftop bar/restaurant made it all great fun. The location was perfect, central, lots of restaurants and shops, very near the Baixa Chiado Metro Station and easy walking distance from the Main Square and the Tagus. Our rooms were comfortable, spacious, well equipped and very clean.
Nothing really, though I did find my room a bit bland compared to the rest of the Hotel.

The location was prefect, right is the heart of town and easy walking to all the sites, shopping and restaurants. The rooftop bar had a beautiful view but unfortunately it was closed due to the rain storms. It did open on our last night and we enjoyed it. We got the terrace room and had an amazing view of the castle and water- highly recommend getting this room. The breakfast was very good. The staff were warm and friendly. We would stay here again.
The inside bar (not the rooftop) was not great. It had no atmosphere, the lights were bright and it felt more like a conference room.

We really can't say enough good things about this hotel. From the minute we walked in the staff greeted us warmly and were super helpful to two confused and jet-lagged folks who'd suffered a major flight snafu. The room was very comfortable (great beds lots of pillows) but the best part was the terrace overlooking Lisbon. Our room definitely had one of the best views in the city. Definitely worth the price. We've stayed at hotels at home that cost more and definitely didn't have these kinds of views! Treat yourself and spend a little more and get a terrace room. You won't regret it. Over the course of our stay, every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. They even gifted us a small sample of port as we left. Also, the food service was excellent. We had breakfast at the hotel a couple of times but we're happier catching a coffee and pastry at a neighborhood cafe. That said, the breakfast buffet was excellent. We also capped off several nights in the rooftop bar. Super friendly staff and a nice, but small, wine list. Perfect place to end the day. Overall, a to 10 stay for us. We'll definitely stay again when we return.

A brilliant location in the heart of Chiado district, minutes walk from the river, and the beautiful historic streets of Baixa -Chiado, central Lisbon and the Alfama. It's a busy, bustling area with masses of bars, cafes and shops but also quiet squares and hidden gems to be found around every corner. The hotel is an island of wonderful calm that sits above the bustle, with a roof top bar that has the most stunning views across to the Castle and Cathedral. The staff are welcoming and helpful at every turn. Perfect breakfast buffet in a beautiful, bright room with lovely views
The rooms with views to the castle are stunning, as are the ones with their own private terraces, but now sadly very expensive. It has a little restaurant with the bar but perhaps it could do more options - we have rarely eaten there.

We booked this hotel on the day of arrival as our previous booking cancelled our booking that morning. The Hotel Chaido couldn't have been more accommodating and the staff gave us a very warm welcome. It was located less that a block from a parking station and right in the heart of central Lisbon. The views from the roof top bar are amazing. Our room was modern and large. It was very quiet and the bed super comfortable. It had a lovely ensuite and everything was very clean. A comprehensive breakfast was complimentary every morning with tasty bread and croissants the highlight.
Our only complaint was the wifi was very slow in the evening. Otherwise a perfect stay.

This hotel is in a terrific location for seeing all the main attractions that Lisbon has to offer. We loved our room which had an amazing view of Lisbon from our balcony. They have a great rooftop bar that has views of Lisbon and the sea. The breakfast was included in our stay and the room, the food and the staff were all extremely good. They are also nicely located close to many good restaurants, and the staff were all very knowledgeable when it came to recommendations and directions. Can’t say enough good things about this lovely hotel. Would definitely stay again when we come back to Lisbon.
The only thing we were sad about was the steep increase in price from Feb to March, but we understand as March is the beginning of high season.
