The staff was very friendly, and the hotel offered a delightful array of breakfast options, including pastries, bread, charcuterie, yogurt, and cereals. Despite arriving two hours before the check-in time just to drop off my luggage and begin exploring the city, my room was already prepared. This thoughtful gesture was especially appreciated after having to wake up at 2 am for my flight; a little early relaxation was just what I needed. :) Now, a bit of gray area: when inquiring about the possibility of paying for a late checkout, I was informed that this was not an option. While I understand that the hotel may be fully booked at times, having this option would have been appreciated. Important to note that despite not having the option for a later late checkout, I was allowed one extra hour on my checkout, which is great! This hotel has a supermarket, a pharmacy and some restaurants just around the corner. It's very close to Super Bock Arena (9 minutes walk) and 15 min walk from the lively Galerias de Paris street.

Only two small things: While staying with a friend, we requested two single beds. Upon arrival, we found two single beds joined together, but that's ok... we managed to separate them. However, despite our request, after each room service, the beds were joined together again so we had to separate the beds everyday.

Hotel is an all-new adaptation of an old but solid building and I knew it from another time when I took my car and appreciated the parking space at the lower level. Even though it is in the open and will not take many, many cars you cannot accede it from the street without entering the hotel and therefore it is protected (but the area is safe, anyway, as is, in general, the town itself). Breakfast is good enough to please most anyone and in fact would not look bad in many five-star hotels. Besides the shower, there was a bath tub (in which I like to relax in hot water, so this is enough for me to prefer a hotel against others fitted with only a shower). I could regulate the room temperature to my liking without a set maximum temperature as in many hotels. I had to go to the restaurant toilette in the afternoon, while it was being cleaned, and instead of asking me to wait, the cleaning lady invited me nicely to use it immediately and she would proceed afterwards. I appreciated and commend her, because I had a train to catch and had lost time to retrieve my luggage. Safe at the room was simple to use and large enough to fit my laptop, even though you feel no need for such security.

The situation is not too central, still you can walk to Avenida dos Aliados in about 15 minutes and to São Bento train station in less than 30 minutes. Also, it is far from the underground works around the train station. The reading light at my bedside was not working because the electric switch was broken and no one had checked it- I left the lamp on a table, near the TV. And by the way, I would have liked one or two extra plugs for the laptop and mobile phones, specially if they would not disconnect when you left the room. Receptionists are 100% OK, but sometimes there are two at reception with nothing to do, and sometimes there is only one, when two were needed. I had to wait a long time for she to deal with a newcomer couple before I could retrieve my luggage.

The AC broke for the whole hotel during one night. We opened the window as the air outside was fairly cool, but due to the fireworks, etc. the air was smokey. The next morning when we mentioned to staff that the AC stopped through the night, there was no apology of any sort. They simply explained it was a problem for the whole hotel. Even a “sorry” would have gone a long way. Also, the breakfast room is not wheelchair/stroller accessible. So you need to take a staff elevator into the kitchen. Additionally, there is a set of maybe 6 stairs when you first enter.

Knock it back to good. The staff were excellent, very helpful. The hotel was very clean & tidy, a few scuff marks here & there but not excessive. Breakfast was excellent.

The room was good, very clean & well maintained, apart from the bath needing some maintenance & there not being a kettle or complimentary tea & coffee in the room. There was no porto wine in the minibar, that was disappointing.

The staff were excellent from check-in to check-out. The bar staff were all very friendly and the drinks were both tasty and good value. Even the mini bar was reasonable! The bedroom was clean and modern, I had a window I could open to get some fresh air. The bed was super comfy, as was the chair. The location was convenient, albeit not in the most picturesque part of Porto, but it was easy enough to walk around the city. I would definitely stay there again. :-).

The bathtub in room 222 needs some maintenance on the drain stopper, as it didn't close completely. The shower was great though, so it was not a big deal and I forgot to mention it during my stay. I'm sure it'll be fixed when they read this review! :-).

Very good breakfast. The wifi didn’t work on my iMac, but fortunately I had brought an Acer where it worked fine.

At arrival I grabbed two beers from the mini bar. They were never refilled. At checkout I clicked on the beers at € 7.00. When checking my receipt later I noticed that the hotel had charged this twice.

Rooms were clean and cleaner attended daily. Air conditioned hotel. Great selection for breakfast. Hot and cold buffet with lots of fruit and pastries.

Bar food was very basic. Sandwiches with Crisps. It was a 10 minute walk to the centre. Our room faced the street and it was very noisy at night. Lot of construction going on.

Excellent location in the creative Bombarda district, 20 min walk to the heart of the old town, 15 min drive by taxi to the airport. Very close to botanical garden. Plenty of options in the breakfast menu, super clean room. Porto is a beautiful city, worth visiting once in a lifetime.
