I liked that it was right in the centre of everything. Down the road were many of the tourist attractions including the amazing Clerigos Tower. Round the corner were many nice restaurants and bars. This is great as the city can be tiring to walk around with all of its hills. The receptionists and cleaners were great and very polite. Also, the city of Porto was amazing with so many sights to see, and the view outside the hotel was just the start.

As with it being in the centre, it was a bit noisy, but you're going to get that anywhere really (and the positives of being in the centre outweigh the negatives). I'd say it was still far away enough from the bars to be ok to sleep, just maybe with the windows shut.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, and shower good. The TV has some decent English speaking channels if you're unwinding. Great location with loads of intimate bars and restaurants on doorstep as well as great base to explore city. Nice artisan market in the square opposite. There is a charm to the place and very good value for money. Very happy with my stay and would definitely book again.

Can't fault anything!

The location is fantastic- right next to the Cedofeita pedestrian mall. Our room was on the back of the building so we had a great view of some gardens and old neighbourhood. This hotel is in an old building with lots of charm, owned by a family and not part of a hotel chain. Great for a unique Porto experience.

No air-conditioning. There was a loud and constant noise from a massive air vent in the next door restaurant.

The location is amazing, the price was extremely affordable for the value. The hotel had a 24/7 reception, which I prefer to self-check-in and gives a more personal touch. They all spoke English and were nice. The room had a private bathroom and was clean. You can borrow a hairdryer from the reception.

You need to leave your key at the reception every time you leave the building. It did not bother us; at least you can't lose the key. The entrance door downstairs is closed at night, so it's better to inform the reception beforehand if you want to get in during the night

The area was ideal for walking around porto and for access to shops restaurants . Reception staff were very helpful and accommodating .Nothing was too much trouble . Breakfast was basic but enough to get you set for the day .Lovely fresh rolls .

The room was warm and you needed to have the window open .Some noise from outside from restaurants etc until late however you need to realise that you are in the centre of the city . No ventilation in the bathroom . We changed room and found that the TV didn't work in the evenings in the new one however did work in the morning when the hotel had emptied.

A charming hotel set in a perfect location. Was a great place to begin the Camino from. The staff were helpful, kind, and provided really useful information. Made me want to revisit Porto again, and if I do I will stay at Hotel S Marino!

It was all a lovely experience. I sat out in the terrace in the evening, and thought it could be more of a feature.

Since there was no air conditioning in the room, we had to keep the window open all night to get the room cooler and there was a restaurant/terrace right under the window so a lot of noise and music. Wouldn't recommend this for a light sleeper as you could hear the noise even with the window shut.

A cozy and quiet hotel in the historic center of the city. Perfect location for exploring the sights, with a peaceful atmosphere to relax after a day of walking. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the stay even more pleasant.

Excellent family room, more like a suite with a couple bed and toilet/shower in one and a separate twin with its own bathroom. Comfortable and clean Very friendly staff Good location for sightseeing, recommend Braga and Pinhao by train up Duoro Valley.

Maybe a little more variety in the excellent breakfast?

Super location, within historical center and walking distance to all main tourist attractions. Many small restaurants and bars in the immediate area that are popular with locals/Portuguese tourists, especially on the weekends. The hotel itself offers all that is needed for a non demanding tourist.
