The room (single room, shared bathroom) was good value for money - basic, but clean. The bathroom was also clean, it was right next to my room, so pretty comfortable. The ladies who work there were very kind and helpful. The location is excellent, within walking distance to major tourist attractions, restaurants and bars nearby.

The window was tiny (my room was in the attic/loft), but that's not a real problem, especially if you are out and about throughout the day :). Also, be prepared for a rather steep staircase - I did not carry much luggage, so that was fine with me but I can imagine that accessing might be a bit difficult with a big suitcase. Everything else was great!

The location is perfect. Next to lello library and so many things to visit. The bus station ( included airport bus) is in front of the hotel.So your transfer from oporto airport is secure. The room was cleen. The staff helped us with everything we asked. ( we needed tranfer to airport at 4 :00 am and public transport was close so she told us that was a bus line (M3) directly to airport only 8 min away on walk. So that was very helpfull.

The staff didnt speak too much english so you need to try a little to expalin, but they are ready to help.

The property is located opposite of the University building in the old city center, which is close to everything - so it is great for those who want to reach most things by foot. Rooms are small but cozy, and there is a sink in the room, with toilet and bathroom shared on the hallway.

Central location comes with the price, and in this case, that was the level of noise during the evening, considering the proximity of tourist areas and bars. Even though we were not directly above any busy venue, open windows which were required due to heath are not a good idea for someone with a very light sleep. Despite staff being very lovely (and likely living on site), their presence on the reception and requirement to always leave a key when leaving the venue was feeling a little bit privacy-intrusive, but we overall had a good experience.

the pension is top central, in front of the university, 100 m from lello bookstore, 200 m from igresia clérigos, and lots if restaurants and cafes nearby. Absolutely top. 24/7 reliable checkin, 2 ladies. Super clean, 4 towels for 2 days, small tv, private toilette. Good light ro read, all in all basic but for the price unbeatable.Could leave my bag until departure to airport. Definitely recommend the single room with private TC.

A recommendation: not many sockets, bring a multiplier. Mattress bit too hard but for the price ok

The rooms were very clean and the staff was kind and ready to help. We stayed 2 nights and we didn't know our beds would be made so we left a mess of clothes on the bed, some were also left to dry. The room cleaner nonetheless made the bed, and even put the damp clothes on a hanger so it dries faster. The location was amazing!

There was not much space. We only had backpacks so we were fine, but aware if you have suitcases! Also lots of staircases. The internet is existant but that's about it, can't really use it, which was the case in all our hostels, so nothing new.

I would give the space itself an 8 but I added an extra point to make it 9 because of the great staff. Very friendly and welcoming, there is always someone at reception if you need anything. They could clean and change your towels every day if you request it (we didn't just to be on the sustainable side). I personally liked the quirky decor and vibes of the whole place. Room and bathroom were surprisingly spacious. Location was excellent: very close to sights like Livraria Lello, Clerigos Tower, and Carmo Church is right beside it. A variety of places around to eat or have a drink.

You could hear some of the noise from other rooms and hallway, but if you are not that sensitive it's alright.

Location, location, location! Also, the front desk is always staffed which provides an extra sense of safety and security, especially if you need to leave your bags briefly before check-in or after checkout.

It can get a bit noisy on the plaza in front of the pension. Also, it is a bit worn.

The host was accommodating and the location is really perfect. The hotel is an excellent value for money. i could recommend it for budget travelers, it is really one of the best places I have stayed in.

The room is not so big so you should have an attitude of spending your time outside doing sightseeing

The receptionist was so nice! I tried to arrive in time to receive our bike rentals for the Camino, but it came early. She saved the day and took them in for us and stored them, but I don't recommend other people do that! Space is limited and stairs make it difficult. Room was comfortable and clean and as photographed.

It was hot, but a fan is in the room...
