Beautiful Hostel, clean, friendly staff, great location. Large rooms with several with air conditioning, lots of lockers, spacious and clean bathrooms.

check out scheduled for 12. at 9:25 a.m. in a FEMALE only dormitory, a young GUY comes in UNANNOUNCED to do some cleanin. In the room we were 3 girls in very light pajamas myself almost naked, luckily there were curtains but a very unpleasant situation. He was talking loudly with one of his coworkers, as if 3 people were not sleeping there.He leaves the door open so we hear all the noises outside, when he comes out the curtains remain wide open, our glass door directed toward the courtyard-bar full of people having breakfast. the girl "most covered " in the room gets up to close and protect the others from prying eyes. A shocking and not normal situation. If you put the check out at a specific time, you should wait or prevent earlier!

Great location, incredible staff. I've stayed in selinas in South and central America and this is very similar. Kind of luck an up-market hostel/hotel for millennials. Good vibes, good music nice drinks and really helpful staff.

I read some reviews before booking and I wish someone had made this clearer to me. The bar/garden/communal area is in the MIDDLE of all the rooms. So all the rooms face it. I came for a weekend and Friday/Sat night was PACKED and music stopped at 2am. It was super loud. I'm no prude and had a great time, but if anyone is a light sleeper, this place might not be for you

This is the second Selina I've stayed at. They have a hotel or hostel option. I chose a private hotel room with a private bathroom. The reason I chose the Selina was that I had an awesome experience at their location in Cusco, Peru. I had a similar experience. It is a great place to meet travellers from all over the world. They have a central patio that has a bar and restaurant. Every night people of all ages, from every continent hang out there. I met some great people there. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I booked a 6 bridges riverboat cruise at the front desk, which was very reasonably priced. There were other options as well. From the hotel it is a quick walk to the river and to the center of town. Porto is pretty small town so it is easy to walk around and see the city. There were excellent bars and restaurants very close to the Selina. They even have a tattoo parlor, which I did not take advantage of, but it is an interesting amenity that might appeal to a lot of people. I would definitely stay at the Selina in Porto again, and in other cities around the world.

Really nice beds (like really nice) and the staff was wonderfull! I made a lot of friends there, as it was a very social hostel 😊 Really nice with the welcome drink to meet people, and the free walking tour worked as a great tool to chat woth a bunch of new people 😍 I really enjoyed Porto and the hostels placement was really good, i did not use public transportation one time while i was there because of the central location of the hostel.

I would say one shower/bathroom is not enough for 8 peoplein a dorm, and there is only 2 in the restaurant for when you couldn't hold it. Kitchen was far away, so it wasn't really convenient. The common area outside that was for the Selina guest was not shaded during most of the day, so you coulndt really sit outside unless you went up to the restaurant area, where you have to pay for food or drink to sit.

Best hostel we have stayed in. Central garden & seating area was great particularly when we had a small room it made all the difference. Bedding changed everyday was excellent. Location was fantastic. Reception staff were v polite and helpful but perhaps improved training, didn't go out of their way to find out answers when didn't have info to hand. A welcome drink in price would have been nice. Not the cheapest hostel. We would come back.

The curtain across door and window in room just didn’t work as an idea- not very functional and practical. You need to stay a night with 2 in room to experience why. Blinds better solution perhaps. A small criticism and one easily fixed. Great hostel and a few tweeks it could be perfect.

Great location, rustic / hip vibe, large open area in the courtyard with a bar. We had the Suite room, which is apparently the largest, and it was nice indeed. Lots of light. Friendly staff, overall a good experience.

The lighting was weird in our room — there were switches near the bed, but they did nothing, and all lights were controlled only from the switch near the door, which wasn't entirely comfortable at bedtime, but not too big of a deal. Also, our room had a large projector screen, but the projector itself produced such a weak and tiny signal that couldn't be zoomed/upscaled to actually use all of that screen area. It was a bit tilted too. It's a shame, because the idea is very nice, but we ended up just not using it at all, as it was just so bad.

The place has a cool vibe. If you are looking to party and meet up with other travelers, its a perfect place! The location is super, easy to walk everywhere and lots of good restaurants around.

Little more instagramable than functional :). The rooms face directly the bar where the party goes on beyond midnight. The Breakfast had 2 options and these 2 are the same every day. So if you stay more than 2 days, its bit boring. Breakfast combo includes only instant coffee. But the location is very good and there are multiple excellent breakfast options very close.

Selina is the cleanest , newest, highest quality hostel one can find. Location is great in safe neighborhood with lots of cafes and walking distance to everything. The bed is so comfy like a 5 star hotel and has privacy with curtains. Great huge showers. Awesome people , met lots of great people and enjoyed the pub crawl and walking tour and Douro tour with them!

The common area is like a restaurant with people that are not from the hostel so sometimes it is hard to mingle and get to know people because you don’t know who is a guest of the hostel and who isn’t. But welcome drink and pub crawl help you to get to know the other guests

Best location out of any hostel I have stayed at - very lively area with countless places to eat, drink, lounge, or walk around. The bar in the centre of the hostel was very unique and provided numerous areas to sit while having a drink or some food. The room was a very good size with comfy beds that had curtains for plenty of privacy.

Two of the three staff members I talked with were not very welcoming but the other one was quite kind and helpful. I expected the hostel to be a bit more geared toward solo travelers but the central bar wasn't very conducive to that.

I loved the location, everything is so near, Galerie de Paris to go partying, great restaurants and bars to hang out, all the monuments etc... It's really top! Hostel is cool, people are relaxed, staff is also very motivating though it depends on a person, some waiters were really easygoing not to say uniterested...I loved the music in the bar, really good house music.

Some waiters seems really uniterested and take their time, also breakfast is rather average and I don't expect too much. Rooms are also OK, but just OK.
