The hotel is in a good location, and the staff are extremely professional and helpful. The check-in and check-out processes were smooth. Special Thanks to reception. The breakfast team was also very attentive and friendly. A tip box needs to be placed in the breakfast area. room and bathroom size is good. There is a minibar and safe box in the rooms. The room was quiet, there was no noise.

The hotel is old and needs renovation or updating. The room window and TV are old and small. Breakfast is not enough, and there are very few options. For example, there are no tomatoes, cucumbers, or boiled eggs. With small changes, the hotel can improve a lot. For example, the curtain rods in the rooms can be replaced (they are old and dirty), the breakfast buffet can be rearranged (the space is not well used), and the pictures in the breakfast area can be changed (better with city view photos). Some vegetables, pancakes, and hot food can be added to the breakfast. A small luggage room can be built next to the bar, and the wardrobes in the rooms can be repainted etc.

My husband and I loved the charming old world Portuguese decor and atmosphere of the hotel. The staff were all polite and helpful, with special thanks to Valerie, who warmly welcomed us upon arrival at night and recommended a charming place called Cafe Guarany just around the corner for a delicious dinner, accompanied by live piano music. Breakfast was everything you could want and included an impressive array of Portuguese pastries. Our room was well appointed, very comfortable and clean. The air conditioning was a godsend after a very hot day out exploring the beautiful city. It was our first visit to Porto and we were very happy that we chose Hotel Internacional Porto, conveniently located in the heart of the old historic Porto. We took a cruise on the Douro River and loved the riverside atmosphere where there were talented street musicians and artisans everywhere. Transport is easily available by taxi or Uber to get up and down the hills we found too steep to walk. Thanks for a happy,memorable stay!

I loved everything, especially the architecture, the decor, and the services. This charming, well-maintained historic hotel is close to restaurants, cafes, and many attractions. The service was outstanding — the front desk lady went above and beyond to accommodate our requests whenever we needed ice or information. The breakfast lady was incredibly kind and welcoming, greeting guests in their native language and making everyone feel at home. The breakfast itself was absolutely delicious with a variety of homemade Portuguese recipes. My room was comfortable and incredibly clean — pristine. The chambermaid did a phenomenal job, replacing towels and arranging the room perfectly.

The location of the hotel is excellent for seeing the main sites in the 'old' city. We walked to everywhere that we wanted to visit, apart from the Foz do Doura. We travelled on the tram to Foz do Doura. It was a lovely ride along the river. Even though the hotel is close to the city centre, it is very quiet as well. The breakfast is exceptional; good quality food and so much to choose from. The manager/waitress in the breakfast room during the week was extremely helpful. She explained to new guests where everything was and said they should ask if there was anything else they wanted. She could communicate in several different languages, fluently. A lovely lady! We had a standard double room, which was clean, pleasant and had everything required in a hotel room. The Guarany restaurant, which was separate to the hotel but associated with it, was recommended on our first night. It was very good and we had a meal there on two further evenings.

The coffee served in the breakfast room was from an urn, so it wasn't exceptional. Although our room was cleaned and tidied well, the tea bags were not always replaced and there was no milk provided. However, I did find out that more tea bags could be obtained from reception and they also had milk cartons. Disappointingly, our room wasn't serviced on one day; it had been overlooked. The receptionists did apologise and offered clean towels etc. but the chamber maids had finished by the time we noticed, having been out all day.

All staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We had a double room overlooking the through road but there was not a lot of traffic so it wasn't noisy. The occasional noise from 'the clubbers' returning home, was dulled by the double glazing. The room was cleaned everyday and the breakfast was amazing with a super kind friendly lady to help you.

Controlling the air conditioning proved difficult without instructions but we managed to sort it out to our satisfaction.

Beautiful, old building, with modern amenities. Our room was very comfortable, with excellent shower and bathroom, and was kept clean every day by great housekeeping. The hotel is very well situated, with the river and the main attractions in walking distance. All the staff were friendly and efficient. A special mention to Carla in the breakfast room. The breakfast selection is very good (especially the wide choice of delicious pastries and cakes!). It was a joy every morning to be met by Carla, and when we had an early check-out on our last morning, she made up a bag of breakfast goodies for us. Thank you.

From the location everything in the old town is close. Hotel condition is very well maintained. Staff are excellent, caring, and reception was always staffed even at night

Immediately opposite and above the Hard Rock Cafe, a music venue plays VERY loud booming music until 10 or 11pm some nights - but not all. There is additional sound prevention on windows but the wall also vibrated with strong bass. I don't go to bed early, and I liked the music, so good for me. However I don't think it's correct for the city to have a loud music venue with windows open that's immediately opposite such a lovely hotel.

My room (105) was next to the breakfast room, and it was noisy in the morning due to it.

The hotel location is superb for Porto attractions. The only drawback were the steep hills to walk up after a lunch by the river. Taxis are freely available, however, and cheap. The hotel itself is impressive, staff are friendly and helpful. The only drawback was that the hotel bar and restaurant were closed throughout our stay. There are many good restaurants and bars nearby, however, so this wasn't a major drawback for us. The room we had was spacious and kept spotless by staff. Al in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to all.

The lack of a bar and restaurant

Excellent location in the center of the city. The staff was very polite and attentive. The rooms were of good size and quiet. The breakfast was very rich. Plenty of fruits which is rear and you learn to appreciate if you travel for more then couple days. And there was Carla, very animated and energetic breakfast hostess that made us feel welcome in the hotel. We had very enjoyable stay in hotel Internacional in Porto.
