Very nice hotel - competent team

no critics - but good to know - when you book a single room - the windows will be in direction to the street - and the hotel has a brilliant location - near to hot spot of bars / restaurants etc. - so you have to close your windows in the night

Hotel has a feel of a grand hotel, front desk, foyer, staff dressed in uniforms, really great impression. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was really good and served in beautiful restaurant. Location was very good to many places of interest.

My main dislike is the state of the bathroom. Size wise is adequate, but it seems like was designed in 1970s and wasn't taken care of. Shower area had a black molding on sealant that could have been easy fixed, but apparently no one really cared. I am including pictures of several spots (Halls candy is used for size comparisons). Take care of that and your hotel will benefit from it!

The staff, location, room and hotel itself were very nice.

The only thing that I was quite surprised was breakfast. Just bread, ham, cheese and fruits. No eggs, nothing warm. A little bit strange

The hotel is centrally located. During our stay there was work going on inside the hotel which meant that some areas were inaccessible. We booked a superior room - which turned out to be very small. It was clean and comfortable, with a roomy walk-in shower. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was a fairly typical continental selection, but pretty good overall. One issue was that on the Friday and Saturday nights there was very loud music somewhere in the vicinity- not within the control the hotel I'm sure but something to bear in mind. Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a good, central hotel.

This was my 2nd time here and I will definitely choose it for the next trip. An exceptional experience with amazing staff makes it a great place for you to feel that you’re safe, and can rely on their support and understanding. Besides that, the hotel has the best location to discover Porto on foot and also use public transport and metro. There are many restaurants and bars around so you have a big selection of places to enjoy your time. You’ll never regret booking this hotel for your stay in Porto taking unforgettable memories with you.

I really enjoyed my stay. The room was clean, cool with working AC, and had a lovely view from the window. The bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the free water, the lift, hotel has the beautiful garden with sunbeds where it was nice to relax. The staff was friendly, helpful with my questions, and it was convenient to leave my luggage after check-out. The breakfast included everything I needed and was very affordable, just like the room itself when booked a few days in advance.

The only things I didn’t like were the late check-in time (4 PM felt a bit too late, I would prefer 3 PM or earlier) and the stairs at the entrance, which made it a little difficult to carry my luggage. It would be nice to have a small ramp for suitcases or strollers there. Apart from that, everything else was excellent.

The Victorian atmosphere is nicely sustained throughout, coming in off the street the grandeur of the interior comes as a great surprise. The 24 hour reception is a bonus. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the location was wonderful, withing walking distance of many attractions. The cold breakfast had plenty of choice and a nice range of freshly baked pastries. The dining room overlooked a nice little private garden.

The 'hot' breakfast was disappointing, firstly because of the small range of choices (especially for a vegetarian!) - scrambled egg and beans had to be self-served on cold plates which meant by the time they were on the table they were cold.

The location is excellent and the hotel has a kind of faded glamour that is lovely. I didn't take the breakfast but the dining area and outdoor/garden area were absolutely beautiful, as were all the art nouveau decor touches. The room was very warm, which is great for winter in Porto, and I saw it had an A/C unit for the summer. The staff were very nice.

The bathroom was shabby and a few decades out of date - and no plug available for the bathtub, so I had to improvise something. All seemed perfectly clean though.

Lovely hotel, great position, clean. Nice balcony with view of lovely courtyard and you could see the top of Clérigos tower all lite up at night time.

The curtains weren’t able to be moved/ needed fixing so they let light in waking me up. I extended my trip and had to stay in another room and curtains didn’t close properly in the middle. They did say they will get it fixed. Large high pillows and no milk sachets for the tea and coffee, I’m sure if you ask they will accomodate. Heard a bit of noise Friday and Sat night from nearby party street but wasn’t enough to keep me from sleeping,

the hotel is so beautiful and romantic, it's the oldest in town and I really loved its style and the little details from the past that make it unique and precious. the garden is so lovely, the breakfast room, the bar and the reading room are beautiful and elegant. i really loved staying here, especially because it's a unique place full of charme and history. the breakfast is great and staff is nice and lovely

I had the feeling that they didn’t clean our room everyday... i think they only made the bed and changed the towels...I like to have my room and bathroom cleaned everyday. by the way, the hotel is neat and clean.
