The staff, location, room and hotel itself were very nice.

The only thing that I was quite surprised was breakfast. Just bread, ham, cheese and fruits. No eggs, nothing warm. A little bit strange

The hotel is centrally located. During our stay there was work going on inside the hotel which meant that some areas were inaccessible. We booked a superior room - which turned out to be very small. It was clean and comfortable, with a roomy walk-in shower. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was a fairly typical continental selection, but pretty good overall. One issue was that on the Friday and Saturday nights there was very loud music somewhere in the vicinity- not within the control the hotel I'm sure but something to bear in mind. Overall, a very enjoyable stay in a good, central hotel.

This was my 2nd time here and I will definitely choose it for the next trip. An exceptional experience with amazing staff makes it a great place for you to feel that you’re safe, and can rely on their support and understanding. Besides that, the hotel has the best location to discover Porto on foot and also use public transport and metro. There are many restaurants and bars around so you have a big selection of places to enjoy your time. You’ll never regret booking this hotel for your stay in Porto taking unforgettable memories with you.

The location is excellent and the hotel has a kind of faded glamour that is lovely. I didn't take the breakfast but the dining area and outdoor/garden area were absolutely beautiful, as were all the art nouveau decor touches. The room was very warm, which is great for winter in Porto, and I saw it had an A/C unit for the summer. The staff were very nice.

The bathroom was shabby and a few decades out of date - and no plug available for the bathtub, so I had to improvise something. All seemed perfectly clean though.

Lovely hotel, great position, clean. Nice balcony with view of lovely courtyard and you could see the top of Clérigos tower all lite up at night time.

The curtains weren’t able to be moved/ needed fixing so they let light in waking me up. I extended my trip and had to stay in another room and curtains didn’t close properly in the middle. They did say they will get it fixed. Large high pillows and no milk sachets for the tea and coffee, I’m sure if you ask they will accomodate. Heard a bit of noise Friday and Sat night from nearby party street but wasn’t enough to keep me from sleeping,

Breakfast and location was very good. Hotel was very central.

First room we were allocated (think it was 107) contained a wardrobe which was no more than 18 inches wide and had no shelves. I addition it was so near the bed that you could not stand in front of it but had to stretch round the door to put things inside it. There were no other storage facilities in the room. Although this was a superior room we had to transfer to a normal room (116?) which had slightly older furniture and bathroom fittings. However we had no problems with this room and were given a refund of the difference between the 2 rooms. Would like to say the manager dealt with our problems in a helpful friendly and efficient way.

the hotel is so beautiful and romantic, it's the oldest in town and I really loved its style and the little details from the past that make it unique and precious. the garden is so lovely, the breakfast room, the bar and the reading room are beautiful and elegant. i really loved staying here, especially because it's a unique place full of charme and history. the breakfast is great and staff is nice and lovely

I had the feeling that they didn’t clean our room everyday... i think they only made the bed and changed the towels...I like to have my room and bathroom cleaned everyday. by the way, the hotel is neat and clean.

Location and helpful and friendly staff namely Alexander who assisted me in taking my baggage to the room and gave some recommendations for dining options.

Not so friendly, kinda rude guy in the reception, didn’t get his name. He assigned me room 007 downstairs that has a patio, wherein freezing air from outside was coming in to my room. Alarm went off early morning while I was trying to turn on lights, bulb in one of the bedside lamp was not working. Addressed all of my concerns, hope it gets fixed before another guest occupies it.

The hotel is in a great location close to the Torre dos Clerigos and the Livararia Lello. It is only 15 minutes walk to the Ponte de Dom Luis, Sao Bento Station, the main cathedral and many other sights. The breakfast selection was generally very good. However, on our first morning there was only one member of staff allocated to clearing tables and replenishing food and crockery, which was too much for one person. We complained at reception and someone from there came to help out. The following mornings there were two staff members on duty in the dining room when everything ran smoothly. The beds were extremely comfortable with high quality linen and pillows. The bathroom was spacious.The whole hotel was very clean and well presented. Although it rained most of the time for our six days in Porto, in better weather the garden and terrace would have been a lovely place to sit.

There were two sachets of tea provided, but it would have been nice to also have been provided with daily coffee sachets. The fridge in the room was useful. The bar is advertised as a 24 hour service, but when we arrived back at the hotel for a drink at 10.30pm we were told the bar was closed. I think this was due to staff shortages as there was just one person on reception. On the first night we were told the bar had run out of bottled beer. The bar has a very limited selection of drinks which could be improved. It is a small. but pleasant setting especially when waiting for friends to come down from their room.

The hotel is in the old town, close to the famous library and tower. The hotel has a cute French style and is clean. The lady at the front desk recommended Barsao restaurant and it was incredible! Shower pressure is great, room size is good with high ceilings

The AC system is dodgy - when it works, it's super powerful, but it mostly doesn't so the rooms are hot and stuffy. They say it is centrally controlled, but even the staff can't make it work. There is a bar nearby that does karaoke, which is noisy even on Monday and Tuesday nights. The room isn't serviced unless you put the notice on the door.
