For this price, in Singapore, this place is brilliant. I only booked two or three days in advance and got a twin room, with plenty of space on both sides of both beds, normal sized windows and a bathroom that was not cramped. The room had a kettle and coffee, fridge and a free water dispenser at the end of the corridor. Plus a roof top swimming pool that is big enough to swim up and down in. There are 4 different metro lines within 3 minutes walk, lots of buses from outside the hotel and Fort Canning park is right next door. There are plenty of places to eat and drink within 5 minutes walk and the aircon in the room worked fine. I had been slightly hesitant about staying at a YMCA when I booked but would stay here again anytime. It was great.

For this price, nothing. The bed was slightly firm and the free coffee was the 3 in 1 ready mixed stuff (perfectly OK, just not for me) but there is a 7-11 right across the road where you can buy alternatives.

Location - Exceptionally great location, there is a bus stop right in front of YMCA, and 2 MRT stations (Dhobby Ghaut with purple,red and yellow lines and Bencoolen with blue line). Very convenient transportation. There are also 7 Eleven and Cheers nearby. Walking distance to some of the attractions (Fort Canning, National Museum, Chijmes etc) Facilities - Didnt take the package with breakfast as there are many convenient stores nearby. Right outside the hotel there are also vending machines for drinks and light snacks. Water filter for refilling bottle is also available at every floor. Room - Clean room. No toiletries provided (stated during booking), but there are toilet paper and shower gel. Towel and hairdryer is provided. There are also sockets near and bed and on the table (for boiling water or drying hair).

Room servicing - servicing is only available twice a week. I opted for no room making during my stay, however, the staff rejected my request for a change in towels as "they dont have enough towel". Air cond - the aircond is slightly old, where there is no remote control and the controller is on the wall. Slightly inconvenient if want to adjust the aircond during the night. One off incident - there was a electric breakdown during my first night of stay (22 June), no aircond and lights in the room and toilet), slightly scary but thankfully it did not happen again during the rest of the nights

Great gym (old fashioned but works fine) and good pool. Shame the gym was only open till 6pm then you had to pay a fee to use…. Good location close to 2 MRT stations, one of which includes 3 lines (so it’s easy to get anywhere). Close to the shops. Old hotel but really very good. I’d recommend if staying for just a few days and you want a simple pool and gym for exercise (but not for glamour)

Didn’t like the fee for the gym after 6pm (S$15 each after 6pm is simply excessive. For the price the rooms should be cleaned more frequently, though reception did happily provide clean towels on request :)

The most notable advantage of this hotel is its excellent location—most major attractions are within walking distance, typically under 30 minutes. The airport bus conveniently stops right in front of the hotel. There is also a shopping mall and several restaurants nearby, which adds to the convenience. The room was adequate for my needs, and I appreciated the environmentally conscious policy of changing towels only upon request. The Wi-Fi connection was strong and reliable. The staff were very helpful and responsive to all of my requests.

However, there was a noticeable humidity smell in both the corridor and the room, which was unpleasant. Additionally, the gym would benefit from providing towels for guests.

Location is absolutely perfect! It was quiet at night, beds were comfortable. We had a rather big bathroom (or I expected less..). Loved the roof top pool. Breakfast didn’t have many choices (no buffet, just some choices from wraps to sandwiches to order), BUT it was really yum!!! Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean as well. I can’t fault it for the price you pay for it.

I have nothing that I didn’t like. If you prefer more luxury this is not for you. Rooms are on the small side and might lack comfort you would want. But if you are just looking for a comfy bed after a long day on your feet in the city, this is absolutely perfect!

The staff at the reception was so friendly, always smiling and willing to help. Subway access was excellent, with multiple lines serving the area, making it very convenient to travel anywhere in town. Additionally, there was a large supermarket nearby for food and beverages.

Ants appeared in the room, so food could not be left there. They sprayed insect repellent to remove them. The facilities were a bit old, but they were still fully functional with no issues.

Exceptional location, spacious room with all amenities, extremely friendly and helpful staff

Breakfast was poor, very much so. However the hotel offers the opportunity for residents to make coffee and toast at a table/desk near to the reception area and at a very low price. This comes very convenient to those who do not wish to book breakfast and have no time to go for breakfast elsewhere. Also I did not know that the room would not be cleaned daily. They clean the room only after 7days. I was OK with this, but for those who would want it cleaned more often, they need to be prepared to pay something extra.

Affordable place to stay when in expensive Singapore. Rooftop pool was a gem, perfect for a swim in the scorching hot weather. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was spacious and location of the hotel was perfect for exploring Singapore, very close by 3 metro stations.

Room smelled quite bad compared to corridor, smell of damp. I think might be due to lack of ventilation since windows are locked shut and can't be opened. Also air conditioning installation looks very old so this might be another reason for the funny smell. Furniture looks tired but can't compare given the price and the location. Cheap breakfast included but also quite scarce, so if you are expecting a buffet breakfast, better to skip it and look outside.

Location: the BEST, incomparable, close to Dhoby Ghaut MRT (Red line) & Bencoolen MRT (Blue line) that get one everywhere. Bus stop right in front of the YMCA. Next to the National Museum of Singapore, Fort Canning Park (Tiong Bahru Bakery for breakfast & coffee is divine), right at the start of Orchard Rd where one can shop till you drop, one MRT stop to Newton Food Centre, one easy stroll down Bencoolen St or Princep (then Selegie) Street to Little India. Room: clean, comfortable, good to have a shower & have sleep. In the end, who travels to Singapore to stay in a hotel room all day? Rooms are serviced twice a week, and you can ask for clean towels and extra toilet rolls and the speedy room service will deliver to you. Many untidy people treat hotel rooms like pig styes, don't do that and you wouldn't need daily service. Breakfast: didn't try as there are so many more options outside. Why would one pay to stay anywhere else? If you have too much money and ego and are willing to pay for Hilton and the like, go for it it is your freedom. If you are poor and only want to stay in one of the Cube capsule cubicles, no one stops you. But for pure comfort at such an affordable price & value for money, YMCA is the best. Plus, at YMCA, God protect and look after you, as well as the friendly and helpful staff. WILL STAY AT YMCA forever & whenever travelling to Singapore.

We, my friend and I, liked the restful stay in YMCA One Orchard because: 1) every staff member was helpful and welcoming us ; 2) the cleanliness of the room and the hotel were great ; 3) the drinks which we can buy at the reception are less expensive than convenient stores like 7-11, there is vending machinesvas well ; 4) the location is convenient thanks to bus stops and MRT with 2 stations ; 5) peaceful area, and fun to see the rooster and his family wonder around the park in front of it ; 6) big enough to open 2 suitcases, got a table to write or leave things on it. I will come back without hesitation. 😊💐 Thanks again for all the help provided!
