Hotel situated on a top of a hill above the bay near the castle. Had a room with a sea view that offered great views off the bay. The Hotel and room was clean and tidy with a double bed that was comfortable to sleep on. The staff from reception, bar, and the breakfast area were all exceptional. Breakfast was a typical English and Continental type, both where more than enough. Drinks, coffee, tea fruit, etc. unlimited.

The parking at the Hotel is limited (10) at the front of the building most are reserved. You can park on the street at the rear of the hotel but at a cost of £5 each night. My room on the first floor with the sea view was hot due to been above the boiler room. Even with the window open it still was a hot room. The Bathroom was clean & Tidy however when using the shower the water ran down the shower door and then onto the floor. The use of the door mat and towels had to be used to soak the water up.

We had Room 101, a room with a bay window that looked out onto North Bay one side and parts of the castle on the other - what a fantastic view!!! When we got to our room, my wife and I just sat there for nearly an hour just looking out over the scenery before doing anything else! It's in a good location for North Bay and the town isn't too far away.

Parking is a bit of a hassle. There is very limited parking at the hotel - perhaps 7 or spaces at a push. The area around the hotel is disc/residents parking with restricted timings for others. Nearest pay and display is about five minutes walk away - and expensive!! 'Bit' disappointed with breakfast only being continental, but there was quite a lot on offer.

Bed was comfy, shower was good, sea view room was nice, Eddie the receptionist was a great chap, helped us fix our TV and was super welcoming and friendly. Dog friendly, breakfast was good. You pay for what you get if you’re expecting a five star hotel for this price you will be disappointed, if you’re expecting a nice warm comfy bed and a good breakfast for a cheap hotel then you will enjoy it here, we liked it and thought it was great value.

Parking around the area is busy but we eventually found a spot. I wouldn’t risk parking without paying or parking where you shouldn’t as we saw parking fines on cars.

The location was spot on 10 minute walk and we were in town. Asked for sea view got a sea view overlooking the main strip which wasn't expected. Lift to all 3 floors bonus when you have luggage no hiking up multiple flights of stairs. The bed was comfy pillows too soft for me but I managed for the couple of nights we stayed. You can park on the main road but you need a permit which was £5 not bad for 2 full days. You get this from reception. The room we had, had a bath a full size bath I took advantage of this both evenings. Storage was adequate for us plenty of hangers. No obseen posters and instructions just a fire safety one on the door. Tea and coffee station fully stocked. Cups could have done with being larger as I like a good cuppa on the morning but I just had 2..even managed to watch the darts on the Freeview TV. I would definitely stay here again.

For me the room was warm even after turning the heating off it was still quite hot. We had all the windows open.

Great Location in Scarborough - easy 15–20-minute walk from the train station. Fantastic sea views from the hotel. I had a room with a sea view. My room was basic, but clean, quiet and quite large with ensuite bathroom. Comfortable bed. Shower worked well. Tea and coffee making in room. Continental breakfast basic but options of yoghurts, cereals, hams and cheese, toast, tea, coffee, croissants etc. so perfectly adequate. Staff in dining area very friendly. Restaurant was not open for other meals when I was there but this may have been because I was visiting out of season. However there is a pub that serves food nearby and if you walk into the town centre or down to the sea front there are plenty of food options. There is a large bar area which was fairly empty when I was there but the person on the reception desk happy to serve drinks when I was there in the evening. Good to see a decent local beer on tap. Check in and check out both very smooth. This was a budget choice for when I visited and well worth the money.

Overall hotel seems a little bit worn/dated but did not detract at all from my stay.

Top floor room with a perfect sea view, Tea & Coffee with milk & sugar & a kettle the perfect touch, Febuary very cold outside but Hotel heating was top rate thank you, The breakfast was basic but very nice, Toast, cereal, Yoghurts, Fruit, cold meats, ect With tea or Coffee & fruit juice too, Location is close to everything just a short walk but maybe problem for people with walking difficulties, Dog friendly hotel too, Overall we enjoyed our 2 nights here & would stay again.

Parking £6 per night but believed it was free before booking, Few cob webs on the ceiling in our room, The Shower was hard to control when on power was very hot for me & when tried it cooler it lacked power,

Spacious room with fantastic views. I think it was best in hotel. I like it that there is a lift. Plenty to eat and good choice for breakfast. Serving staff polite, friendly and helpful. It was charming to be called 'Ma'am.

A fridge in the room would have been good as there is enough space. The outside of the hotel lets it down. It could be really impressive if the walls were repainted as it is a shame it looks grubby in places. The problem of seagull splatter is a big one in Scarborough and can sadly spoil the view if places do not keep on top of external window cleaning.

The hotel itself was really good and over looked an amazing view of the sea. The staff were amazing and very friendly. When we went down for breakfast it was continental and they explained everything that they had to offer. The lady that showed us where to sit was lovely and very welcoming.

The lack of information about the parking permit. I feel like when booking, there should be an option to pay for a permit so you can park on the street. Other than that, the experience was amazing and we would stay again.

The hotel was perfect for my stay. I was able to park at the hotel due to the time of year ie, being out of season. The views across the Scarborough north bay are amazing. My room was clean, warm and comfortable.

Like most older hotels now in the UK sadly the corridors, staircases etc were looking tired and would benefit from redecorating and new carpets, but my stay was very good value. I didn't stay for breakfast but the dinning room had a great view over the bay. The UK hospitality sector seems to be really struggling (aside from the main big chains having mostly new hotels).

Beautiful view from our room, young lass on the bar excellent as was the breakfast staff and night manager. Breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice very tasty. The outside of the building was lovely and public areas and restaurant immaculate, shame the room was not. Housekeeping staff have stopped this review being a perfect 10.

Bath was filthy plug hole wasn't draining i then pulled a very stinky massive amount of hair from the plug hole, dusty, mattress protector very stained having said that though £60 including breakfast and a view like we had these issues didn't bother us too much.
