A beautiful villa with lovely comfortable rooms. I had a lounge and kitchen to use. I felt like I was at home. Very friendly & kind hosts. I was made a lovely evening cheese & fruit platter, rather than bfast for 2 days & on the 3rd I had a buffet of cereal,yogurt, bacon, fritters and fresh veges.& juice Yum. The host even dropped me at the airport, that was unexpected and very appreciated . I will be back .

I loved this bed and breakfast in a beautifully renovated villa. Guest rooms were located on the main floor, with a separate entrance, lounge and kitchen for guest use. Large guest rooms and lovely modern ensuite bathrooms. The breakfast was superb with homemade cereals, toast and a cooked breakfast if desired. A huge selection of all sorts of teas, coffees and other drinks. The location is walking distance to town and Pukekura Park, Marsden Hill lookout, and a riverside bush walk is practically on the doorstep. There is driveway parking provided. And the hosts Rachel and Rodney were so kind and accommodating.

The hosts couldn’t have been more gracious and accommodating, from providing help with food, suggestions for what to see, laundry, etc. The breakfasts were delicious and filling. The location was perfect, just a short walk to downtown New Plymouth with restaurants, museums and the coastal walkway and an easy drive to Mt. Taranaki and hiking trails. All in all, a wonderful way to start our visit to New Zealand.

Breakfasts - brilliant . Substantial and healthy . Very pleasant setting in the sun overlooking the garden Location - very close to the city , but with fickle weather we tended to take the car downtown. Having the use of the sunny living room , plenty of reading material , and excellent info on local activities , eating places etc.

A longer stay would have been nice! Being the only guests we could park in the driveway. A challenging exit on to the road , but ok after the first couple of times.

Modern, clean and spacious. Rod and Rachel were the perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was amazing. Location to centre of town and park was perfect especially if you’re in town for the Festival of light. I really enjoyed the bath after a long walk. A perfect stay for couples and solo travellers.

We had a wonderful stay at Hosking House. The rooms were beautifully appointed, spacious and comfortable. The facilities were lovely and having the lounge to use was a real benefit. The breakfast was outstanding and we really enjoyed it. Our host Rachel was friendly, accommodating and so welcoming. We would definitely stay again.

Great breakfast,loved the fresh fruit each morning plus a great variety of cooked breakfast each day. Very nice atmosphere in breakfastroom ,nice china etc. Very nice to have the morning paper & sit in lounge to relax after breakfast. Tastefully comfortable in Bedroom & lounge.Felt we could relax . Lovely to have fridge for our wine & great ice bucket ready for us each day.

TV channels were not very good. Parking was a little awkward .Always hard on a busy narrow hilly street.But we managed. Maybe another luggage rack & hooks on other side of fire place.

Excellent breakfasts. We were there for three days and had something different every day. The hosts were really friendly and provided lots of useful information for things to do in the area. Great accommodation, thoroughly recommend it.

the house got its historic character … which is fabulous… the host is exceptional… I lost my earrings in the sink … they helped me to get it out… also gave us very useful tips to travel to Taupo… it was a great experience!

the toilet is open and link to the room but ok…

Breakfast was a lovely little treat each morning and beautifully presented. Rachel and Rodney were such lovely hosts and very accommodating with our Boxer who was recovering from a bad injury. they went out of their way to make all of us feel at home and especially boxer Jasmine!
