The location was on the river an it had a bus stop right in front of the hotel. They serve a up market breakfast in our room. this is a hotel that we will recommend for every one.

Tastefully renovated and decorated hotel. Our room had exceptionally high ceilings (>5m), even in the compact bathroom which features a spacious shower. Spacious and light staircase but also a lift. At this time (DEC), a breakfast-buffet was not prepared for few guests. However, a very good, extensive breakfast was served in the restaurant as selected from a menu the day before, at the time desired. Omlette and eggs freshly prepared to order. Various rolls, breads, pastries when ordered. We had breakfast included. As we arrived fairly late, we had a nice dinner in the downstairs restaurant ("Oito"). We had a wonderful room/suite on the top (3rd) floor, overlooking the Douro river from the sofa. Useful little kitchenette with fridge, sink, kettle and dual cooking plate, which we only used for tea. Nice, indirect lighting options. Large TV with Netflix. Vintage tram line 1 to Foz (and main street, with bus-stop) in front of the house, but next tram stop ("Infante") is 5min walk towards town. Note that reception and restaurant are one level down from street/tram level. So 1st-floor room will basically be on main street level (as visible in some hotel fotos); not necessarily a problem, though. Airport taxi provided by booking.com upon (delayed) arrival worked perfectly fine. Friendly young driver and new car/van. Return taxi (called by reception) to the airport was about 21 EUR and 30min during rush hour (17ish). We did check out the outdoor roof-top pool, but did not use it (unheated and officially in maintenance mode). Nice views from the top, though. Pool bar was of course also closed in early December. The location is a bit away from the noisier areas on the river bank or central shopping areas, but nevertheless walking distance (10-30min) and within easy reach of main attractions, shops and restaurants, including the other side with the Port wineries.

The safe in the bedroom initially could not be closed, which was swiftly fixed after we reported it. Then, however, it could not be re-opened, which we also reported when leaving (for the benefit of next guests). Few German TV-channels (DW). Tram is a bit noisy, however only during daytime (ca. 9-19). Rush hour street traffic was not a problem with windows closed. Sea gulls can be more disturbing...

Despite being a bit hard to find, this property is a gem. It is tucked away on a lower street with very little signage. Our google maps took us in the wrong address. The hotel is a very old building that has been completely remodeled. It is super cool! Our room was subterranean with small windows to a small light-well, but the design is amazing. The room had a massive exposed stone wall with rest of the room was beautifully designed - very sleek and modern. The room even had a compact kitchenette. This came in handy as we got a bit sick of eating out. The breakfast was served in the ground floor restaurant - delicious! There is a even a tiny rooftop pool (for the Summer) - amazing design.

Being on a TINY residential street there was no parking. We found a space, but it was marked residential. We asked the front desk and they said - you may get towed, but my not - Hmmmm. They suggested going across to a public lot on the river and getting a 24 hr rate. We did this but they were "Sold Out" of day rate tickets and had to pay 1.2 euros an hour for a 2 day stay which added up. The hotel should have been able to offer us a better parking option. One of the ladies at reception was very blase. When we asked to borrow an umbrella for the deluge she said: "Oh - we used to have some but they are all gone now." Well, OK thanks.

The location was excellent, very central with views of the river and the Port houses on the other side. The apartment was excellent. We had a bathroom, bedroom separate to the living room and the kitchen. The kitchen allowed us to cater for breakfast and we had enough pots and pans o have cooked a meal in the evening if we had chosen to. We were a 10 minute walk to the main square a short walk up the hill. the staff in reception were cheerful and answered all our questions. I would highly recommend it.

Honestly, nothing. It catered for all our needs and we could have had breakfast if we had requested it. One point, the swimming pool is seasonal, and due to the weather wasn't open whilst we were there.

This is a relatively small hotel, with modern, well-designed rooms, good breakfast options, and dinners on some nights. Close to the Douro River, but separated from the busier tourist areas, we were very comfortable there for our first visit to Porto. We were close to some fantastic restaurants - huge choices. The highlight was the service from all the staff - friendly and personalised, across all of the people they were excellent, helping us with a tour booking, and giving us suggestions for local visits.

The roof top area was nice, and spacious, but didn't really have a great view of the river or surrounding areas. The weather didn't make it practical to use anyway.

The hotel is by the riverside and very central to everything from restaurants and bars to museums and shops. Bus and tram stops are just a few minutes away. The building is old from the outside but very modern inside — the room is very nice, comfortable, soundproof and well equipped. There is even a small kitchen with cooking utensils. The rooftop pool is simply great, with view of the river. The highlight of the stay is really the staff — kind, friendly and very attentive.

Everything about this Hotel was exceptional. Beautiful big rooms, powerful showers, very quiet. Really good AC. Breakfast was good & the pool was just what we needed after a long hot day.

Porto was the last stage of a long travel through the west of Europe, so Porta Nobre was the last hotel of the trip. I was also the very best. Porta Nobre is situated on the edge of the historic district with view on the Douro. The staff is absolutely wonderful and ready to help you with suggestions for great and affordable restaurants and the best ways to see Porto. The rooms are very comfortable. The breakfast is a feast. The swimming pool on the roof is a great extra. If one comes by car: there is a parking lot just opposite the hotel. We most warmly recommend Porta Nobre.

We literally loved everything of this hotel.
