The property and staff were absolutely outstanding! The attention to detail and personal service was a treasure, and to be located so close to the Duomo was simply charming. There is no better experience i could have hoped for!

The location was second to none. The Duomo towers above you the minute you step outside the front gate of the hotel, and all other sites of interest in Florence are within walking distance as well. At the same time, the minute you enter the hotel, the hustle and bustle of the city subsides, and you can get a welcome respite from the heat and the crowds (we were there in July; thankfully, there was excellent air conditioning in our room). The entrance, a little unusually, is on the second floor, but there is a small lift to take you up there as well as a broad stone staircase. The inside of the palazzo is stunning and authentic, yet intimate. The small breakfast room is full of frescoes and antique furniture, and it feels almost like sitting in a dining room rather than a hotel. There are only 12 rooms in the hotel, and this boutique feeling is present throughout. We had booked a junior suite but were upgraded to a suite, which was just lovely. We got the impression that they willingly do this whenever possible. Our rooms were beautiful and generous, with original floors and furniture, and it felt just right to experience the renaissance city of Florence this way. There was an espresso machine in our room, which was appreciated, and in the afternoon, there are complimentary tea and cakes in the dining room, which was a welcome touch. All of the staff were kind, down to earth and helpful, which we appreciated so much (having had other experiences at other palazzos in other cities). Upon check-in, we were shown to our room and told 'this is your home away from home for the next three days', and it truly felt that way.

Breakfast was lovely and had a decent selection of everything, and so we were surprised that the coffee was cold. When we asked for new coffee, it was immediately made, and we could also order cappucinos. However, you expect warm coffee to be readily available. We often like to make use of room service when visiting larger cities if we're tired from walking, but we felt it was a little too expensive here, which was a shame.

We stayed here over Christmas. The hotel is situated next to the cathedral which means that everything is within easy walking distance. It is is one of the few, if not the only hotel in Florence still family-owned having been passed down through generations of the Niccolini family. Try not to judge the hotel by its unusual courtyard entry or the second-floor situated reception. Our stay in this authentic medieval hotel was very comfortable and warm. The east-facing window in our room gave us the treat of a sunrise over the mountains every morning - very romantic.

This is an authentic medieval building constructed before lifts were invented so might not be suitable for those with mobility problems. If going upstairs is not thing, you can take your chances with the rather scary lift.

This is one of the best hotels I stayed in. Located meters away form the Dome, it has character, it is exquisitely decorated, it offers excellent facilities, kind and helpful staff, delicious breakfast, and pleasant complementary services.

There's nothing to complain about.

Palazzo Niccolini was an excellent choice for a stay in Florence. Whilst I normally book self contained accommodation in Florence the choices of resturants is huge so it was easy to eat out, and the central position right beside the Duomo made sightseeing easy. The Palazzo itself is beautiful, breakfast was very good, our room was spacious and silent at night. The staff were very helpful. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Florence.

At breakfast coffee was made to order by the waitress, which was excellent. At other times of day an espresso machine was available which was great but there was no milk. This is only a minor thing but would be nice.

We were absolutely thrilled with our stay at Palazzo Niccolini! Service was impeccable in every aspect, from the cleaning, to the security, the breakfast and the cleaning facilities. We stayed in a junior suite, decorated with beautiful frescos and we felt as if we were travelling back in time. The hotel is steps away from the Duomo and offers parking spaces for your car. Staff were very attentive and honestly we couldn’t have asked for a better hotel to stay in Florence!

Nothing!!!

We had an absolutely incredible experience at Palazzo Niccolini ! From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The check-in process was seamless, and we was immediately impressed by the stylish decor and pristine cleanliness throughout the property. Our room was nothing short of perfection – spacious, beautifully furnished, and equipped with all the amenities one could need. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. Little touches like complimentary snacks, champagne , candles and a personalized note made our stay feel extra special. Breakfast was a delightful spread with something for everyone and was superb. But what truly sets this hotel apart is the impeccable service by the owner Niccolini and every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to assist with any request. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious, hassle-free, and memorable stay.

So close to everything! A short block from the Duomo (back side). You would think with location that it would have been noisy but so quiet (and our room overlooked the street!). Very comfortable bed and room. We stayed in a junior suite so had plenty of room to spread out. Shower was exceptional. This is a former palace that has been converted so the ceilings are extraordinary and decor is beautiful. Added bonus is that there is a wine window just around the corner. That was a goal of mine to find one that didn’t feel quite so touristy so at the end of the block (away from the Duomo), go left and wine window is on the right. Cool y yo start the evening.

There really was nothing we didn’t like.

This was a gem of a property. The bed was do comfortable it was a vacation in itself. The romance of an aged structure and history just made it all worth the trip. Absolutely we will stay here again. The breakfast will set the pace of the day and you will look forward to falling in bed once your day is over. I wish we stayed longer.

As an aged building it will have small issues that are easily overcome. The staff is more than accommodating and willing to assist you if needed.

Outstanding location, gorgeous architecture and interior design. This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The staff was wonderful. They also helped us make two dinner reservations for two great restaurants!

I didn’t know at first that I could drive left down Villa dei Servi to get to the hotel, so I was driving around in circles for a while trying to find a public parking lot instead. The hotel did answer the phone and gave me directions, but it took a few calls to get through. They were very helpful once I got through.
