This hotel is simply excellent. My wife and I stayed for 3 nights over a weekend. The staff were friendly, helpful and increadibly attentive. The room was clean, modern and well appointed. The hotel provides a free mini-fridge stocked with soft drinks and a beer, which was replaced daily. This was in addition to an array of hot drinks and a few other snacks. The bathroom was modern and well maintained. The shower had good power and the water was lovely and hot - not always a given! The hotel is located next to the Duomo and a short walk from the other key sights in Florence. The breakfast was really good. There was an extensive array of cooked food, cold meats, salad, fruit, pastries and cereals. We used the bar a number of times for coffee and drinks. We especially enjoyed the free buffet that was put on during the happy hour each day. We would recommend this hotel, and if we do return to Florence we would certainly stay here again.

Nothing. We loved the whole experience.

Everything went perfectly and we really enjoyed our stay here. From the warm reception, to champagne in the room, to the well-appointed suite, this was just perfect. It is on the pricier side, but for this level of lavish luxury, you expect to pay a disproportionately high price for a suite. It was our anniversary and the staff treated us like VIPs. We're not VIPs, but just once in a while it's nice to be treated like that.

There really isn't anything we didn't like.

Beautiful hotel with beautiful room & public areas. Spotlessly clean. The staff couldn’t do enough to make our staff enjoyable. From the wonderful barman who made me a great negroni, the restaurant staff who interpreted our strange coffee requests perfectly. Huge breakfast buffet that set us up for a day’s sightseeing. Oh & leave room for the happy hour buffet!

Nothing! I know it seems like a put up job but the Spadai made our holiday

Everything about Hotel Spadai was beyond wonderful from the minute we checked in. The staff was so friendly and charming and immediately rushed to help us work bags and told us our room was ready hours early. We were greeted with a glass of prosecco and juice for our kids. They helped us get settled and for the remainder of the three day trip truly were available for anything we needed and always so friendly. We are American and felt it was a VERY family friendly and American friendly hotel - the breakfast spread is phenomenal with made to order coffees. The lobby bar is so great too for an afternoon drink, they have everything you need. It is 5-15 minute walk from any attraction you’d need to see in Florence. They also helped us arrange a car for an airport transfer with very little notice and personally called the driver when we left for some items we had left in the room. We were beyond impressed and you cannot find hotels like this is the US. We would enthusiastically recommend this to anyone especially families with kids (we had 3 under age 9)

The junior suite was lovely, clean and comfortable for our family of 4. It was within walking distance to the train station and centrally located. Upon arrival, we found a handwritten note, bottle of wine and biscotti...a sweet surprise. Plus, the room was stocked daily with an assortment of complimentary water, wine, beer, soda, juice, cookies, etc. It was rainy during our stay, so they always had umbrellas available for use. And finally, the breakfast buffet was included in our rate and was wonderful, beautiful, huge and delish (everything you could want...fruit, eggs, meats, cheeses, cakes, breads, juices, yogurts, cereals...).

Right next to the Duomo, we heard & saw the bells ring from our room, just magical. The decor is luxe and the rooms are generously appointed. The beds were the most comfortable we experienced in Italy.

A few staff were short and curt. Our towel heater wasn’t working and they said it will from 6am to 8am every morning. When ours didn’t work, I called again and I was blown off like it was no big deal. She finally asked someone and said that they don’t turn them on this time of year. That was a big inconvenience since I had some clothes hand washed that I ended up having to pack up wet. When we came back later to get our bags, I was denied use of the bathroom.

The welcome was warm and friendly. We had a room with a view of the Duomo which is always magical. The room was comfortable, spotless, had a huge bathroom and had everything we could need. The staff were all, without exception, friendly, warm, interested in us, helpful and charming. We would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return ourselves some day.

There are never enough milk pods! I don't know a hotel that gets it right. We had a fridge with mini bar so a little carton of UHT milk would have lasted and been really helpful. We had four sachets of coffee, four tea bags and only one milk pod each, per day. We asked for more but it seems a pain to have to ask when it would be so simple to rectify the missing milk issue! It spoiled nothing: just a suggestion.

We had a junior suite for the four of us (2 adults and two teenage girls) which was really spacious, with comfortable beds, a large bathroom ( albeit with pointless jacuzzi) and very clean. Really good breakfast with lots of fruit- blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and Greek yoghurt plus the usual meats, cheese and cereal. Great location 5 mins max from Duomo and walking distance from the train station( for trips to Siena) but relatively quiet for central location. Really friendly and attentive staff in particular at breakfast where they remembered your name and what you had to drink!

Nothing specific although my daughter said corridors outside rooms were a bit like being on a cross channel ferry

Hotel Spadai is a gem. The location is superb and walkable to and from places to visit. Our room was nice, clean and with the amenities we need. The staff were exceptionally nice. We had an early morning return flight so we had to leave the hotel at 4am. Naomi arranged for our cab to take us to the airport and arranged breakfast boxes we could take with us to ensure we dont get hungry. Such simple gestures are worth noting. Thank you and will definitely come again.

Excellent location, it was an easy walk to the places we wanted to visit in Florence. Great restaurants, gelaterias, places of interest, train station. You walked in and immediately felt a sense of calm, luxury, a place to rest after a long day of sightseeing. The level of attention from all of the staff was also evident in every detail.

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like. The kids said it was the best hotel on our trip, even better than the one in Monaco.
