August 2025
My family and I had the pleasure of staying at The Marcliffe Hotel for one night from Sunday, August 10 to Monday, August 11, 2025, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. This five-star hotel truly lives up to its reputation, thanks to its outstanding staff and impeccable service. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Carly at reception. As a party of four, we initially faced an issue with the hotel’s policy of allowing only two people per room. Carly went above and beyond to understand our situation and promptly secured a second room for us, ensuring our stay was comfortable and stress-free. Her professionalism and kindness made a lasting impression—thank you, Carly!🙏 The dinner at the hotel’s restaurant was a highlight of our stay. The meal was delicious, beautifully presented, and showcased the culinary expertise of the kitchen team. It was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. The next morning, we had an early flight to catch, and the staff’s thoughtfulness truly shone through. Tony, who was in charge of the front area, was incredibly accommodating and arranged for special sandwiches to be packed for our journey. These were expertly prepared by Chef Dave and Fraser in the kitchen, and we could taste the care and pride they put into their work. The sandwiches were a lifesaver and made our travel day so much more pleasant.👍👌 The hotel itself is elegant and comfortable, but it’s the exceptional service that sets it apart. We can’t recommend The Marcliffe enough and will definitely return on our next visit to Aberdeen. Thank you to Carly, Tony, Chef Dave, Fraser, and the entire team for making our short stay so special!

Beautiful luxurious hotel with style. Rooms are generous and and beds are comfy. You feel relaxed and at home right away. The drawing room as a bar and the restaurant are high class with high quality drinks and food. The staff is very friendly and always motivated to help, especially at reception. The Spa is also very nice and modern with high quality state-of-the-art treatments and reasonable pricing. A nice walking and running track - the old Deeside train trail - is nearby. Large and top smart TV with Internet connection and latest apps.
No chargers for EVs available and staff cannot recommend or organize charging spots nearby. Some parts of the hotel and in the rooms would benefit from further renovation soon. The restaurant is sometimes under staffed, waiting times occur and you are sitting with your dirty plates for quite a while before some one is taking those away.

The breakfast was terrific! We ordered off of their menu and we customized our order to meet our specific preferences. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. Overall, the staff was outstanding; all staff members were friendly and greeted us when we encountered them; and if you asked a question or requested service, they gladly provided it. Finally, the rooms were nicely appointed, clean and spacious.
Just keep doing what you are currently doing!

Breakfast and dinner were both excellent, with the professional and welcoming atmosphere provided by staff, coupled to the accomplished culinary skills and presentation, more than making up for a slightly unambitious dinner menu. The hospitality and cleanliness were exemplary. A very well run establishment operating to the highest levels of high-end hospitality provision.
Room furnishing and décor, whilst exceptionally clean and serviced, looked a little tired - a refresh would not go amiss. However, that aside, the hotel is well maintained in attractive grounds set in a quiet and peaceful part of Aberdeen.

Couldn't fault our overnight stay. staff very attentive. nothing too much trouble. Clean and tidy. We were there for our Ruby anniversary celebration with another couple. Our dinner was perfect, cocktails to start, an amazing delicious meal. Our room was very comfortable and had everything you needed. Lift available for access to rooms. Drawing room perfect for pre diner drinks with large comfortable sofas and chairs to lounge in. It is expensive but you are paying for 5star service and surroundings and it was a special occasion.
Can't think of anything.

Good parking. Lovely foyer and drawing room for tea or drinks. Staff were great. Food was good, we had breakfast and tea and scones but not dinner. Room was spacious and had great refreshments and facilities. Very comfortable and clean. I was releived to find that there was no function on the weekend we stayed as we were near that room.
No afternoon tea available on Sundays. Grounds could be more interesting.

Wide choice of traditional and continental dishes for breakfast; evening menu relatively limited but the quality of the food is exceptional. Service is polite and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.
Nothing, everything at The Marcliffe is what all hotels should aspire to.

Superb very comfortable room good facilities beautiful grounds in west end of city. We were staying over from Christmas Eve and the next morning hotel had left Santa sock on the door containing some very nice gifts - far far in excess of any expectation amazing that they did this not sure any other hotel would. Staff very welcoming all in all a great stay.

Location was excellent, just out of the city but located in beautiful grounds. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful
The breakfasts were very good, but I was disappointed with the two dinners we had in the hotel. Limited choice and really expensive.

From the minute we walked in, until we left the staff looked after us, the food and drinks were absolutely delicious!! Decor was gorgeous, comfortable and luxurious. Will definitely be returning
Absolutely nothing, they had works going on in the grounds but this did not effect our stay one bit!
