Amazing establishment with an outstanding service. Reception, housekeeping, decoration, Wi-Fi, air-con 100/100. Beautiful and spacious room which we were able to access before check-in time. Waking up with a view of the Palazzo Vecchio and Piazza della Signoria was certainly a treat. Coffee-Tea making facilities and complimentary water and orange juice on arrival was a godsend. We don't normally have breakfast, so cannot comment on that. But for what I saw in the gorgeous dining room, it did look delicious. The location is unbeatable, you are literally steps away from all interesting places. Oh and the smell of roses filling up the air the moment you step in. For a short or long stay, this is the perfect base to explore Firenze

The location is amazing - 2 mins away from the Uffizi and central to everywhere; Boboli Gardens , Pitti Palace, all the major museums and only a 10 min walk from the station. The room is in a large old building - stunning architecture and the view from our window was of the square and we could see the replica of David (fountain straight ahead). It’s lovely in the evening with all the lights. The room has been tastefully decorated paying homage to the building. Felt really special and there is plenty of room. The bathroom was large and the shower incredible (very modern updated shower). They give you keys to lock up and let yourself in when reception is not there. I would stay here again.

Just to be told at check in they accept cash only for a the city tax - just annoying as I tend to have cards but not a deal breaker.

The property itself is just amazing. We could see Palazzo Vecchio from our room. The staff was very friendly and helpful, we only stayed for 1 night (4 person) and it was perfect for my father who can't walk too much. It is right in the city center. Another good thing is that we didn't get breakfast and when going downstairs to ask about leaving our luggage after checkout, I was pleasantly surprised with a complementary breakfast (croissants, bread, jam, coffee, boiled egg). HIGHLY recommend this place

Can get a bit pricy if you stay multiple nights and there is no parking, but the property recommended a parking place nearby (7 min walk) for 40 eur/24h.

The room was nicely furnished, suitably for the atmosphere expect from a visit in Firenze. Bed & pillows were very comfortable. Room and bathroom were very spacious and equipped with all we needed. The room overviewed the Palazzo Vecchio and the piazza, which we could gaze while having breakfast (brought to our room, with a selection of a variety of possibilities, other than the typical cafe & cornetto, which we enjoyed a lot as we highly value our breakfast). The staff was very kind and helpful. They kept our luggage after our check-out until our departure. Also, worth noting that the building and the bathroom did not smell of any moisture or sewage, which is something that worries me when staying in old buildings. Location great. Cleanliness impeccable. All in all, a great experience.

We had no problems ourselves, but for others with mobility problems, it's worth noting there is no elevator and need to go up the inevitable stair to the reception and the rooms. Also, for extremely tall tenants, the ceiling height may be a problem (not for me at about 1m78cm). It's a old building, so soundproofing between rooms (mostly from the room above) is not the best, but was not an issue for us.

We returned to the Casa Del Garbo because of fond memories of a stay there 14 years ago. A charming, if pricey B & B right on the Piazza del Signor1a in the center of everything and near good restaurants and grocery stores. An elegant old property with visible wear and tear, but a definitely quality old world ambience. Large room (Gemma) well furnished with a good bed, chairs, fridge and dresser for flat space. Provision of wine glasses a nice touch, as is delivery of breakfast order to room. Nice shower with seats and small corner shelf for soap and other items. It kept floor relatively dry.

Nightstands flanking bed awkwardly placed and too small. Provision of wine glasses was a nice touch. Only one English language channel (Sky). No signal for CNN, but we got France 24 in English. Wifi connection spotty and timed out frequently, requiring reconnection, which was a minor nuisance. There was a problem with a noisy A/C fan and we managed a workaround by manipulating the thermostat. Important note for elderly or mobility impaired; there is no lift. Reception is on 1st (European) floor after steep stair climb. Stairs everywhere. Understand that this is an histtoric building and certain modificsations cannot be made.

Location is absolutely perfect - with the view on the Palazzo Vecchio and the fountain. Uffizi Gallery is right nearby. Big and convinient suit, good equipped and nicely decorated. Breakfast is in your room, you can choose the time when you want it to be delivered and what you would like to eat.

For us this was not a disadvantage, but it should be taken into account that there is no elevator and you will have to carry your luggage up to the 2nd or 3rd floor yourself. It would be nice to have coffee for breakfast in a pot, so that it stays hot longer.

Location and room both exceeded excellence, what a view every single day. Space in the Junior Suite was great for our family. Lots of privacy and staff very pleasant. See photo taken from window.

Small things only. If I have to find fault, I find it odd that staying especially at good standard hotels generally in Italy, that breakfast is not included and extra, especially when paying for a premium hotel. The tea/coffee making facilities could be better variety in the room. Bathroom products could be better quality for such a superior establishment and also more generous. They didn’t match the quality of the hotel. But these are small aesthetic things, cannot fault anything else. Be aware there is no lift so heavy luggage is difficult up and down the stairs.

Great location - walking distance from major attractions, even the train station. Extremely helpful staff. We arrived early and didn’t have a room available. We were able to leave our bags and even rest a while. When we returned the bags were already moved into the room. We were given all necessary keys and could come and go as we needed to.

Have to climb a lot of stairs to get to your room. A bit challenging if you have bulky luggage. Windows open onto the piazza - can be a bit loud at night.

We loved Florence and our stay at La Casa Del Garbo. The room was ready early and staff communication in messages and in person were excellent. Everyone we met was welcoming and helpful. The room was lovely and the view over the square was fantastic. Breakfast in the room was a treat and the offering was plentiful. It was the perfect location for getting to all of the sites and had good bars and restaurants nearby. Highly recommended!

There is no better location in Florence. Rooms were large and well appointed, bathroom was good size, staff was super friendly, and the inn was beautiful inside. It was everything we had hoped to have in Florence and the value was superb.

Almost nothing - except it did NOT have an elevator (and I bet that very few smaller inns in Florence do) so if you cannot do steps, you should probably not pick this place, but if you can, it is well worth it.
