The hotel is beautiful. We stayed in a newly refurbished room which was stunning. The hotel is going through a re-furb and reception notify you on arrival, however it doesn't affect your stay and will make the hotel look even more fabulous. The spa is lush and worth the entry fee. The food in the restaurant was beautifully prepared and flavoursome. They do some great takes on classic dishes but also some different food also. Excellent gluten free range.
The only issue we had with our stay was with other guests who decided to have a 5 hour argument in the room next door. Our room had an adjoining door which hampered the sound proofing so we heard every word, and despite us kindly asking them twice to keep it down they didnt. Regardless of this, when we informed the night porter he was so calm, kind and efficient and gave us another room to sleep in so that we could actually sleep. The hotel reception were also very apologetic and did their best to appease the situation. They couldn't have handled it better.

Everything. It was such a pleasant experience, from the bedroom cleanliness and tidiness, to the lush Spa and pool and the absolutely stunning restaurant. The chef is something else, food was the best I have tasted in long time.

The Manor House hotel was like nothing we’d ever stayed in before, we loved the buildings, the spa facilities and the history of the place. All the staff were so lovely, letting us have a nose around the function rooms and the courtyard was a great sun trap for drinks. The breakfast was really great and we were glad to have it made to order. We also ate in the evening which was also amazing.
The only real complaint we had was that the bed in the room was quite small - I’m 5’8” and my partner is 6’1” and both of us had our feet hanging off the bed. The bed was also not that comfortable, which was disappointing given the rest of the hotel. It seems that lots of update works are being done so perhaps we weren’t in one of the newer rooms. We would still return as it was a lovely stay.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. Thequirky, almost playful decor melded the historical aspects of the manor with modern touches. The light fittings throughout were fascinating. The spa was great!
I stayed for 5 days and I had to ask for the room facilities like bottled water to be topped up twice- other than those times very little was refreshed. I like it when a facility tops up all the original offerings of shower gel, coffee, water etc every day as the price remains the same for each day.

Rooms comfortable and clean. Food was excellent and the breakfast staff were very nice and pleasant. We chose to eat in the restaurant one evening and the food was excellent.
Having to pay a £50 deposit on check-in rather than a card being left on file in case of any issues. On check-out we had to re-present our credit card for a refund, The £50 had already been taken from our account but will take 3 days to be refunded??? I understand the need to have a card on file but not to have the policy to actually take money from customers accounts for them to have to then wait to have it refunded. This clearly needs looking into. For this reason alone is why I have marked my review down

The Manor had some lovely features that have been restored or repaired over time. It was nice that the character had not been lost. The bedroom was a family suite and was ok, but the decorations and facilities needed updating, but it was clean and tidy. The food was beautiful, and the restaurant had been refurbished to a good standard. The spa was lovely nice facilities, could do with the being repainted, as peeling on the walls around the pool. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. There were a few smoking/vaping outside, which you don't want to see on arrival. All in all, the manor is a quiet hidden away treasure.
Needs updating in the room and repainting/plastering in areas around the manor. The main staircase needs work, new carpets, and staircase restored. The spa is lovely, but the paint is peeling around the pool area. It would be nice if all the surrounding gardens were maintained when you walk around the property.

The staff are lovely and friendly, our dog was made to feel very welcome. I was a little disappointed in the food - it was overcooked unfortunately. I had a chicken burger and because it was so dry the crispy coating fell off, this wasn't a major issue, but on going for breakfast the next morning I noticed the bits of food that had fallen off were still on the table and hadn't been cleared away. We didn't use the spa, so can't comment, but our room and the dining room were both very lovely.
The food. It was edible, but not great. As well as the issue with the chicken burger, the ham that came with the breakfast eggs looked quite grey, I chose not to eat it.

Lovely hotel very well maintained although they were still working on some of the rooms it did not impact on our stay as they kept everything clean and tidy. The only reason I know is because they mentioned it. The rooms are very comfortable and the bathroom was absolutely stunning. Everything was perfect The spa looked lovely even though I didn’t use it this time, if I stayed again I would definitely try it out
Nothing to dislike
