The owners were super nice and flexible with our needs. It is an older motel, but it is still clean and well kept, so great value for money. Location is a short 10 minutes to the town centre for shops, cafes and restaurants, and also 5 minute walk to the waters edge where the helicopter and water plane tours leave from. Also, it is less than a 5 minute walk to DoC's through a small lane for anyone getting transport to the Great Walks heads, or the same time (in the opposite direction) to the information centre, if getting picked up for a tour. For us we were only using the motel as a drop point for our stuff for single and multi-day hikes, tours and self guided bike rides, and a place to sleep, so cannot comment if it I suitable for people who are looking to stay in during the day and use the leisure facilities. Also the rooms are really warm. Often, we would leave at 6 am, but get back, cold, and tired at 9.30 pm or later to a lovely toastie room.

For someone who packed for hiking and other outdoor activities, the room was a little small, but that is more on me not thinking too much about room size when booking, but we made it work.

The service from Gaki (not sure if I’m spelling it right?) she went above and beyond to make us comfortable during our stay! She kept our fire warm for the spa while we were at dinner by checking on it, gave us awesome food recommendations, let us use her personal phone, and was just so kind and helpful that we felt like we were at home! Service like this makes a hotel stand out and we will be recommending this place to our friends and family that visit South Island! THANK YOU ❤️

Nice and quiet location, only a short drive from the 'city centre'. Friendly and helpful reception. Room was clean and beds comfortable though the place itself is small but adequate.

The way the stovetop was placed....at a strange place with the fridge/panty blocking front access. Had to lean against the fridge to cook. Wonder why it wasn't placed above the oven instead? The super sensitive fire alarm, even with windows open it went off upon frying sausages. Next door's fire alarm also went off at meal time.

The staff were extremely helpful. The apartment was very well equipped. Bedside lights in bedrooms. They were generous with supplies of shampoo etc, as well as tea and coffee sachets. There is an on- site laundry, they supplied washing powder. There was Netflix on TV, so we were able to watch a movie together. Best location to explore Milford Sound. I also got a discount with a fantastic tour with this accommodation.

Comfortable room. Nice and warm when we arrived in the afternoon. Great bathroom and shower. Best thought out bathroom we've had all trip. Enough cooking utensils to make dinner.

There seemed to be a hard bar across the bed under the mattress at about chest height. Could feel it when in bed and it was a bit uncomfortable. Not enough washing up liquid. The bottle was almost empty when I used it the first night, so I left it out to be filled while we were out. Came back to the same level of liquid, which was barely enough to wash up that night.

A perfect night stay after a long day. The room was very comfy, especially the bed and the pillows and we loved that the TV had free Netflix. Staff were especially accommodating as we checked in after checking hours. The shower was very powerful and we had plenty of towels. The only thing to note was that the shower flooded the bathroom which was a shame. In terms of location, it was a quick walk down to the water but we preferred to drive into town as it was a little bit further.

Room was good value for money, the heated towel rack and heated bathroom tiles were a nice surprise. Kitchen was clean and had everything we needed for basic meals. Parking spot out the front of our room for our car. Laundry was $4 for washer and $4 for drier and I used it for a small load and it was really good. We could log in to our netflix on the tv. Wifi was good. Short drive to town and to the lake. I would stay here again.

The only downside was the heat pump was really loud and we turned it off while sleeping, but room wasn't too cold anyway without it.

Very clean Good kitchen - able to cook. Good size fridge Location was good - near walkway to lake and very handy to DOC info centre. Also only a 5min stroll to the Main Street

Overall very good. Would have been great to have a few little things in the kitchen - oil for cooking. Washing machine and dryer could have been free. Having a little back outdoor area could have been nice but was unusable /broken. Other outside furniture was very worn. Bathroom very small. Overpriced

Nothing fancy, but very comfortable and clean. A queen bed in the bedroom, two singles in the living area, all very comfortable and warm (stayed in late March). The little kitchen was outfitted with all the dishes we needed for our cereal breakfasts and takeout dinners. I'm sure we could have cooked If we had wanted to. It has a mini fridge, not a full fridge, which was fine for us. Te Anau was a great location for seeing Milford Sound and the beautiful scenery and hikes in between.

Wish we had known that the temperature dial in the fridge needed to be all the way at 5, the highest setting, to keep our container of ice cream frozen!

Clean and comfortable room, perfect walking distance to town for dinner. Really nice check in service. Comfortable bed and loved that they took the time to pop little daylight savings note for time changes on the doors for quests. The only thing that let the place down was the shower. Good pressure but really needing replaced...we were a little worried the cracking in the floor and wall had become worse just from a quick couple of showers.
