The staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating... providing beach towels each day and dining recommendations for the local towns we visited. The location was perfect for grabbing a bite to eat and doing some shopping within the old port, as well as for taking day trips to the many beaches and historical sites we took in. The outdoor seating for the hotel restaurant was ideal for starting the day with a cappuccino and light breakfast and capping it off with a glass of wine and people watching. The rooms were spotless, maintained daily, and very quiet at night. If you have a small car, there is secured parking behind the hotel. I would definitely recommend staying at Porto Veneziano Hotel!!!

The hotel was located on the harbour and our room overlooked it, so the view was spectacular. In the evening you could sit on the balcony and see the sun setting that was amazing. The room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was superb, as there was a large choice both from the cold buffet and from the hot menu at the table. We were in a car and the hotel had parking on site, which was a real bonus as Chania is busy and parking can be challenging.

The pictures of the room were deceptive as it was smaller than we had anticipated. I wasn't keen on the sliding door into the bathroom as it created a lack of privacy. The service at breakfast was a little bit hit and miss, on our first morning they completely forgot to take our order and on other mornings the wait for drinks was long, or they were brought them after our food.

We loved this property. It was at the end of the port and a fantastic location from the restaurants and surrounding shops. Staff was great and very helpful. We loved our complimentary breakfast. It was also a great spot to have a coffee of cocktail and enjoy the port. It was also son the opposite side of the bustling and busy port area. This hotel was recommended by a YouTube channel hosted by a Greek tour guide. We highly recommend this hotel. You will not be disappointed!

If you have a car, we didn’t have one, the parking lot is a bit small. Getting to the property by car may be a bit difficult.

The staff on the front desk were rude. I had a bit of trouble trying to pay for my room, as the payment wouldn't go through. The women on the front desk called someone to tell them the payment wouldn't go through. Her demeanour towards me changed when the payment couldn't ho through. I suggested the hotel invoice me so I can pay it. The hotel couldn't do that. In the end I had to transfer money to another card fir the payment to work. It was not my choice to pay the hotel on arrival, as this was the only hotel on my trip that I had to pay the hotel on arrival a d before I travelled. Would I stay st this hotel again, I'm not sure based on this experience

I chose this hotel for its exceptional views of Chania harbour and the friendliness and courtesy of the staff, plus the option of eating breakfast or having evening drinks at the edge of the walkway around the harbour, close to boat moorings where there is always something interesting to watch. Breakfast buffet was excellent, a mix of continental and the option of hot dishes cooked to order. Swimming is possible nearby, by walking a short distance to the east, instead of the long walk to the Nea Chora beach to the east.

Room 303 had a " pinch-point " where the space between the end of the bed and other furniture could not be used by more than one person walking through at a time.

Excellent location, right in the old city of Chania. I particularly highlight the availability of car parking (a must for the ones looking to rent car while staying in the old city of Chania), the friendliness of the staff and the excellent breafast (included in the price!).

The experience of staying at Porto Veneziano was truly very pleasant and I would definitely recommend the place. The only thing I didn't particularly like is the fact that in spite of the fact I had reserved a double-bed room, what I actually got was a room with two single beds that were attached together (thus giving the impression of a double-bed), which made sleeping a bid inconvenient, in the sense that I tended to slip right in the edge where the two beds where attached to each other.

Very good hotel. Nice location. There’s free parking which is convenient. Close to restaurants. Breakfast is good where you can order from a menu including different coffees. Housekeeping refills water every day. Staff are very good. They provide daily complimentary beach towels.

The rooms are fairly small but likely standard for old town. Couldn’t lie down 2 x suitcases. There’s no pool for the really hot days. The pillows are terrible. There was a smell in our room and we were told to keep the power/AC running which seemed to work.

Amazing location on Chania harbour. Wonderful breakfast, with the doors open onto the harbour. I didn't try the bar or restaurant other than breakfast, but both looked great. The whole hotel had a terrific, modern, sophisticated vibe and seemed like great value for money to us. plus, amazing to have hotel parking right on the front at Chania. we would definitely stay again and next time will pay more for balconies with sea views because.. what a view. The hotel is a short walk from the old quarter and also a swimming beach.

Staff at the front desk upgraded my room, and these were the last nights in Greece, the view and the location were spectacular! Loved my trip to Greece will be coming back and spending much more time in the islands.

We had a fantastic experience at this hotel in Chania. The location is perfect—right in the heart of everything, with restaurants and bars just a short walk away. There’s no need to use a car for evening outings, which made our stay even more relaxing. The hotel itself is beautiful and well-maintained, but what really made our stay special was the staff. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A special mention to Edison, who served us a delicious breakfast every morning. He went above and beyond, providing us with great tips and recommendations on the best places to visit. Overall, everything was excellent, and we would definitely return. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Crete!
