The room and en-suite were immaculate, well-appointed and spacious and the bed was super comfortable. We very much appreciated all the little details and extras, ranging from a wee fridge, a complimentary sherry and chilled water - and even the fun Scottish items like Irn Bru and Tunnocks products! In addition there was fresh fruit every morning in the lobby, and we enjoyed the guest lounge offering top-ups from tea to toilet roll. Our hosts were very friendly and kindly looked after our bags on check-out day, allowing us to spend our last morning in Oban unencumbered. Superb - highly recommended!

Liked everything about it. Lovely and clean, the decor, the space in the twin bed, sea view room, the comfy chairs to sit by the window, and look across to Island of Kerrera with the binoculars provided by the hosts. Also, the unexpected mini fridge in the room, the tea & coffee making facilities, the wee tunnocks teacakes, the bathroom/shower facilities. It was only a 10 min or so lovely scenic walk to the shops in Oban. Definitely want to book here when we next go back to Oban. Stayed here with a friend to support other friends doing Craggy Island triathlon.

Thete wasn't anything that we didn't like.

Very comfortable and well appointed/decorated room with a great view of the Oban harbour. Jan was very responsive and accommodating and we appreciated the little touches! The small refrigerator in room was a bonus. The Barriemore location provided a nice walk to the city center, especially after a nice meal. Castle grounds are very close. The Barriemore has a very nice area for residents to relax outside of your room. The conservatory room was beautifully decorated and comfortable.

Nothing to note. The coffee/danish option was a bit pricey but still nice in the morning.

Beautiful room with stunning sea view! Loved the bed, very spacious and comfortable. The shower was amazing too. I usually don’t like fridges in hotel rooms as they can be very noisy but this one was totally quiet and we definitely needed it as the weather was beautiful and it was hot. Customer service was excellent. I messed up my travel dates and had to rebook. Jan was very responsive and kind and sorted it all out for me in the end. Thank you so much, my mum and I had a wonderful stay at your place and I will definitely book again with you when I come back to Oban.

This is an extraordinary place to stay - if Oban wasn't enough of a discovery for us to return to, the Barriemore is in it's own right. So we'll be back, along with the two poodles for whom bowls, and snacks were laid on - they love you! From the owner's comminication, to the beautifully decorated room, the sea view to the super bathroom, and the personal touches like the drinks, the decor, the room-delivered continental breakfast, in a perfect location along with parking too, we were blown away (and not just by the rain-storm)! Thank you for having us!

All excellent! Wanted to stay alot longer!

The room was clean and really comfortable. Huge bed! The communal spaces downstairs provided plenty of extra tea, coffee, etc for the room as well as blankets. Some little treats were left in the room which was a nice touch, and the owners kindly arranged a bottle of wine for my partner’s 30th birthday. Location was ideal, 10 minutes walk to local restaurants, the distillery and the pier. The conservatory was a lovely spot for an evening drink looking over the bay.

Everything was great.

Communication, location, view from room, access to town and attractions, quiet, comfortable, fridge. The toiletries are lovely. The Tunnocks products are a nice touch and Irn Bru will be a treat for those from overseas.

Decaf tea bags, access to a kitchen tap to replenish the water bottle. Suggestions would include bathrobes and a non-slip mat for the bath to use when showering.

Great location. Close enough to walk into town, but removed enough to be quiet. The view from our room was beautiful and we spent a good few hours watching the boat’s coming in and out. Even the dog enjoyed sitting in the window! The room was very clean, nicely decorated and with everything you need to stay for a few days. The owner was friendly and lovely to talk to and we really appreciated the extra touches of fresh fruit.

We stayed for one night in the Barriemore hotel. Everything was great. We had a top floor room at the front of the house, with magnificent views of the bay. There were proper lazy chairs in the window with binoculars, which means you can sit there for hours. The room was spacious, the bed was excellent, the shower was fine (being on the top floor it took some time to get hot!). There were also some nice little touches, like Tunnocks bars, Irn Bru, and a little decanter with some liquor. And thank goodness, no plastic bottles of water, just normal bottled tap water! And in the morning, a fruit bowl to kick off the day.

My only minor comment would be that we booked breakfast, but the following day got a message from the owners that breakfast was no longer available due to their personal circumstances. On request, you can get a pastry and coffee in your room. The owners have been very clear about this, and I have all sympathy for them. But it would have been nice if Booking.com had told me at the time of booking rather than afterwards.

Great seafront location, needed last minute accommodation due to ferry cancellation thanks to Storm Amy, the apartment was spotlessly clean, comfortable and dog friendly and within walking distance to restaurants - just what we needed and at short notice! lovely touches of tunnocks tea cakes and biscuits left, very thoughtful!

One room only had sky lights and no view, but really not a game changer and kitchen was tiny but well stocked
