Property is located in a quiet neighborhood about 1 mile walk from Biltmore Ave. we had the superior suite with a living room, kitchenette and a bedroom and bathroom. Not sure how big the regular rooms are. The elevators were not functioning due to flooding after Helene. Parking was free which is great because most hotels charge $50 per day. The lounge is big and relaxing, would be great if breakfast is provided because there is one cafe close by but most of the stores and restaurants are about 1 mile away ( there may be some close by that I didn’t discover). The staff is wonderful, Acorn changed our room since the first room had a leaking AC. She made me a plate of cheese and crackers when i got really hungry and the city bakery ( the nearest cafe) was closed. The bed was comfortable. All in all a good place to stay

The staff and setting are amazing. It's a hotel that immediately feels like home whilst also feeling like the service of days gone by with personable and wonderful people. The building itself is gloriously classy and cosy. The only warning would be it's a decent walk into central Asheville, this wasn't an issue at all for us. So you know what to expect the first 5 minutes are over the interstate highway. Once past that your walk is a pleasant 10 minute stroll through leafy and vibrant central Asheville before you reach Broadway. We felt safe through all these areas. Thankyou for a wonderful stay, we live 3000 miles away but will be back to Asheville I'm certain. It has won our hearts.
My main reservation would be the air conditioning. Temporary units were fitted in our room which were noisy at night. It could do with quieter units befitting of this wonderful venue surrounded by nature.

The whole stay felt like a visit to someone's home. Our room was comfortable, clean, welcoming. I loved the community areas of the building on the first floor. A sitting room had a fireplace and comfy seating. Wine hour in the evenings - visit the front desk for a cup of wine, a beer, or a soda or other non-alchol drink. I laid in bed (third floor room) and watched a huge eastern hemlock tree sway in the wind. Our visit was for New Year's Eve - it was a bit cold out. I am eager to go visit again in warmer times so that I can enjoy the porch seating. The hotel is nestled on a little neighborhood full of older looking house, mostly 2 stories tall. There were people put walking their dogs, but the streets were quiet and there was little vehicle traffic. We saved this hotel in our Map App and labeled it "We Love This Hotel" so that anytime we consider going to Asheville for a visit we will be able to pull it up easily - this year, next year, 10 years down the road. We want it at our fingertips.
I didn't like that it was a one night stay - this hotel is so comfortable and perfect that it should always be a 2+ night visit. So when I woke up I called down and extended our stay instead of going to check out.

Lovely building, lovely staff, lovely rooms although quirky. It’s a charming historic hotel but definitely has suffered since Covid and the hurricane. It is nice that they still Serve wine and cheese in the afternoon.
Since they have stopped serving breakfast, the sense of the family hotel/B&B has definitely gone. It remains a lovely place and the staff are nice, but you are very much left to your own devices! I worry that it won’t survive and it deserves to. It didn’t worry us that the lift was out of order but it might bother some.

The location is perfect for exploring the surrounding town of Asheville, especially if you’re interested in spending time downtown or at some of the delightful breweries and restaurants. There’s a delicious bakery and restaurant within 5 minute walking distance. The staff are both accommodating and friendly - very easy to chat with. They were welcoming upon check-in and continued to make sure the stay was comfortable. The room was spacious for one person with a well-stocked kitchenette, living area, separate bedroom and private bath. The floors are a bit creaky, so you can hear if you have upstairs neighbors, but that’s part of the charm of an historic building. There are plenty of outdoor and indoor seating areas for gathering to meet the other guests during happy hour. I would recommend this hotel to solo travelers, families, and for romantic occasions.
There aren’t many downsides to the property, but if I had to make a change, it would be to the shower head. An extended piping from the wall and something like a rainfall shower head would make showers more enjoyable.

Our room was very spacious, comfy and beautifully appointed. The cold breakfast buffet is good and there are a great range of hot items to choose from, which are freshly prepared to order. The daily happy hour was a nice treat too. The location is very convenient for historic downtown Asheville and also the Blue Ridge mountains, Biltmore, and Chimney Rock. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.
The only problem which we experienced was from people in the room above who were up a lot in the night. Given the age of the property the floorboards are squeaky and the noise was very disturbing. The hotel staff handled the matter well and we had no further problems.

I have zero complaints about Princess Anne Hotel. They were most accommodating, professional and the staff were all very friendly and jumped on any requests we had immediately. The hotel was as clean as it could possibly have been. We plan to come to Asheville again, if for no other reason than to stay at the Princess Anne.
There wasn't anything to dislike, honestly. I find, however, in today's world of GPS that you can get around anywhere without having an overview of exactly where you are in relation to the hotel and various attractions. A nice map would be much appreciated, I think, especially for the older generation. Just a suggestion. Zero complaints!

I loved the quaintness of the hotel! It felt more like a B&B. The staff were exceptional, pleasant, answered all my questions, and gave helpful advice and suggestions. The room was so comfortable and had everything I needed to feel at home. Loved the wonderful breakfast menu and happy hour wine and charcuterie board. Food was so tasty and presentation couldn’t have been better. I would not hesitate at all to choose this wonderful hotel whenever I visit Asheville. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Everything was awesome! Keep in mind this is a historic hotel so there are some boiler noises occasionally. And stairs.
We arrived one month after the hurricane and the hotel’s first day back in business so there was no breakfast or wine afternoons but when you realize most people in the area are still counting on the Red Cross for shower stations and drinking water, those were minor inconveniences. Bottled water was provided for guests. Hearts out to Asheville.

The breakfast was delicious, can highly recommend it. Beds are very comfortable. They offer cucumber and mint water or pineapple water in the lobby. The Happy Hour was fantastic with excellent wine choices and appetizers. The staff is very friendly and informative. This hotel offers so much more than a chain hotel and has a lot of character and history and is located in a beautiful neighborhood.
The air conditioner is a bit tricky to use but they worked fine so this is just a minor thing.
