We spent three nights at Casal do Capelinhos during high season to explore Douro with our two small children and loved every moment. Family-run and clearly cherished, the love for the place shows in every detail. Luxury throughout, a beautiful pool among the vineyards, and a big, comfortable room. Communication over WhatsApp was seamless, with amazing hosts making it an effortless and truly relaxing stay.

With small kids, early breakfast and dinner times would be better, but the wonderful staff did their best to cater to our needs throughout our stay!

We loved everything about our stay at Casal dos Capelinhos. The property was absolutely gorgeous and the staff were so wonderful, friendly and helpful. You can opt to do a wine tasting (there are a few options available), which we also did. Pedro spent so much time with us with such a great explanation of Douro valley wines. The food available at the Quinta is some of the best I have eaten in Portugal. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Everything about this property is exceptional. The rooms, the pool, and the food are all terrific- the breakfast includes fresh fruit, homegrown yoghurt, bakery items and cooked to order eggs. The evening meal was plentiful and delicious. All of the staff are welcoming and helpful. The owner of the property goes above and beyond and his passion for the region, industry and the family winery is contagious.

An absolutely extraordinary experience! The property is beautiful, with carefully tended gardens and breathtaking views. The rooms are comfortable, impeccably kept and decorated with simple, inviting taste. Breakfast is a particular highlight: fresh local products, homemade cakes, all served with a smile. The kindness and hospitality of the hosts made all the difference, we felt truly welcome. Undoubtedly, an experience to repeat :)

We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Casal dos Capelinhos - Douro! From the location of the beautiful, modern quinta, the friendly, professional, & very charming staff, to the food & wine offered on site, we had such a wonderful & relaxing time during our stay. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND staying at this place. Having only eight rooms available in a variety of sizes, the rooms are set into small clusters with an emphasis on privacy & a small indoor space & loads of little outdoor spaces to enjoy a glass of wine, lounge by the pool, all while being surrounded by an active vineyard. Visitors can schedule a wine tasting, or wander through the vineyard & experience a true working quinta. I’m almost hesitant to write this review, because I know it means that the secret is out!

The place is stunning. Just a couple of years old. The pool is amazing, a shallow and a deep end. The eating room is super nice with amazing pottery. The host is a great guy and so is his family, always open for a chat. Breakfast is great and having dinner there a must! We were absolutely super happy staying here! Thanks to everyone!!!

I could write an essay about our stay in Casal dos Capelinhos, because it was the best stay we ever had. From the start to finish, everything was beyond perfection. The location, the room, the views just incredible! What made this place special were people there, we adore every single one of them. They made us feel like home and we were very sad when we had to go. Me and my family will come back for sure, and for a longer period next time, because this place made us feel relaxed and we enjoyed it so much. Casal dos Capelinhos is very secure, the property is very big and beautiful. There is fruit garden below the main house and we were enjoying oranges and mandarines everyday. One of the most special things about this place is the food. We had breakfast and dinner everyday and it was just so good. I can not express how awesome and delicious all the food was. Marlene, the chef, she is the sweetest and let me tell you, she knows how to cook. While writing this review, we are just checking when can we come back. :)

Great location just a bit away from the Douro river, a small private guesthouse at the winemaker. Perdo and his team are really committed and you can see it in all details, reception, the room, breakfast and dinner settings. We had a really presonal and warm experience with lots of chats and stories about the region, wines, places to visit etc. Strongly recommend !

Can't even start to describe how at home we felt in this place. Tomás and Miguel, our hosts made us feel special. Their suggestions were awesome and their stories highly entertaining. Pedro, the wine maker, made us taste an amazing vintage port and some other awesome wines. The wine dispenser was awesome! The chef Marlene and Isabel made our breakfast and dinner experience unforgettable. We had bookings in other restaurants and ended up canceling them all to eat their incredible creative meals. Will be back soon and will suggest it to all my friends. Kenny the dog was also a highlight. Gorgeous:)
