If hospitality has a name it must be Andrew&Francis! We stayed in a lovely twin studio, clean and spacious. In the morning there is a wonderful breakfast served in the main house. All guests are seated at a large table and have time to chat and ask the hosts everything about New Zealand and the area, a stunning history lesson with special tipps and recommendations. Car parking right in front of the studio. The view from the top of the hill and the higher grounds you can walk to is incredible. We highly recommend this accommodation! Thanks again Andrew&Francis

The property was on a quiet private road with a killer view of the valley and distance harbor. Birdsong greeted us at sunrise. The one bedroom suite was roomy and well appointed. There was an extensive collection of books on New Zealand and New Zealand Birds that kept me reading into the night. Tea milk and coffee provided in the room. Bed was comfy. The continental breakfast was very substantial. Toast, assorted yummy jam, assorted cereals, selection of juices and tea and coffee were in a lovely dinning room in the house. But what I will remember most about the stay is our hosts Andrew and Francis. They are very knowledgable and extremely entertaining. They told about their travels around the world and meeting some celebrities, also a French chateau that sadly had to be sold. We felt like we were welcome guests. Thank You for that.

The spcioius and comfortable unit comes with breakfast, taken in the dining room of the main house. This was a real treat, not just the excellent breakfast but also the company of the two hosts, who are both knowledgeable and humorous, great fun. The entire house is set up almost like a museum, quite fascinating!

Guests stay in a separate building set back and above the main house. The building is divided exactly in half, the main (only?) difference being that the right side unit has extra windows and a view (we were in the 'non-view" room)

Wonderful stay at Hyecroft! Andrew and Francis were the perfect hosts. The twin share room we had was spacious (for our needs) and clean. The outside table and chairs were perfect for a quiet drink after a busy day. Getting to go into the main house for breakfast was amazing! So spacious and inviting. The contintenial breakfast was beautifully presented. Great conversations were had over the two mornings we were there. Thank you Andrew and Francis for a memorable stay.

It’s hard to know where to start. Fantastic views, accommodation was great with everything we needed, nice walk up the hill behind, simple but great breakfast…. And then Andrew and Francis are brilliant hosts with the main house almost a museum of local items and what they don’t know about New Zealand and Māori isn’t worth knowing. Thanks for everything

The room was super nice (clean, spacious, comfortable bed). Andrew and Francis were wonderful hosts - providing great conversation over breakfast, sharing history of New Zealand and current events. They welcomed us into their home and made us feel very welcome. The property is on 22 acres with amazing views of the city below and a few paths in the forest and meadow for walking and enjoying the scenery.

We were looking for a place that was not too far to drive from Hamilton that is north of Auckland so we could visit the Bay of Islands for a few days and Mycroft Lodge fits the bill to a T. What we didn't expect was the welcome from Frank and Andrew. The conversations over the table were very informative and entertaining. If we wanted to we could have stayed the whole day to hear their stories!!

The B&B comprises three large 1 bedroom semi detached studio units. Spotlessly clean with modern amenities. Located a few kms out of Whangarei. However any distance anxiety is more than made up for by the actual location high up overlooking Whangarei heads. We sat out on the deck in the afternoon with a drink or two enjoying the view across the Heads to Mt Manaia. A perfect end to the day. Andrew and Frances will make you very welcome. They provide a great breakfast too while entertaining you with stories about themselves and the area. A really enjoyable stay.

You have the opportunity, of a 7 course , setting with breakfast prepared by ( Andrew), unheard of cereals, tasty, jams jellies, and 5 choices of drinks for your liking. Absolutely amazing place to stay. Andrew and Francis are excellent hosts and breakfast time was delightful - their property is phenomenal. The lodges are so beautifully done you will have everything you need. Perfect to walk through the grounds too. Wish we had stayed longer xx
