Located in a former palazzo, Albergo Chiusarelli is a fine hotel in Siena. It is close to the historic centre, and to the main bus station. I booked a “large single room” but was upgraded to a double, on the second floor, room no 28. The room is large and was kept very clean throughout my stay, so was the bathroom which was recently renovated in a very elegant way. Towels were fluffy, of good quality. The mini-fridge proved useful. Heating was plentiful and adjustable from the room. Breakfast was varied and of good quality. I extended my stay for another night and was promptly given the same rate. Renovation was taking place on the first floor, but it did not affect me as I left in the morning and returned in the evening. Siena is a splendid Italian medieval town that’s worth at least a two-night stay, and Albergo Chiusarelli is a cosy, useful residence for any tourist.

There were no vegetables at breakfast. TV was very small. There is no lift (given it’s a historic building), which may be inconvenient for some people, as floors are high (25 steps/ floor, roughly). Also note breakfast is served in the basement, so there are three floor to climb to the second floor from there. The personnel at the reception could smile more and be more accommodating, it does not cost anything.

Perfectly situated near everything you would want to go and sight see within walking distance , kind of a boutique hotel with not too many rooms and a personal touch. It has an old world charm with frescos and lots of marble.

I’m afraid a real issue was the fact that this hotel does not have a lift at all . So if you any issues with walking and agility it really wouldn’t be ideal to stay here . We are all fairly fit and were given rooms on the second floor - which were basically at the very top of the property / aside the lovely views, walking up those marble stairs was a nightmare for the last five days. Also if you are not into hard flat mattresses then the bedding may also be an issue . Unfortunately none of us slept well here - and 6am in the morning the bells are tolling from the nearby church.

the room was a good size with a walk out balcony that had table and chairs overlooking a small garden. I didn't hear noise from neighbors which is excellent as so many hotels have thin walls. The staff were very helpful with maps and advice. English was spoken by many of the front desk staff making everything so much easider for us as our Italian is limited.

Although it is not far from the very center of town, we did not know that Siena was so hilly. The staff gsve us excellent advice on routes that minimized hills but still if you want to wander leisurely, the hills might be a problem especially like me, walking with a cane. I did make it and saw most of the sites but it was slow going. Thank goodness for the front desk advice and map.

The property is great, as always, very well located, with nice staff and comfortable rooms.

Everything was good actually, so no complaints.

The hotel is as described, sometimes you think “ within easy reach of the city “ will be a bit of a walk , this was not . A wonderful location for access to the city , the walk to the 1st street was five minutes at the most . The hotel staff were wonderful , the breakfast very good . The bedrooms and bathroom perfect for a short stay. When driving to the hotel take advice from the hotel however you can park right at the front door where they will help with luggage to your room . Again i got lucky and was able to get a hotel car parking space , next door to hotel and super convenient. I would not hesitate to use this hotel again. Top location for a visit to Siena .

The room was nice and cool and room enough for four people. The location was excellent and we could easily just walk to all the sites. Breakfast was typical Buffett but decent. The front desk staff were very accommodating and helpful!

Parking was very difficult. It’s not exactly clear where we could park and it didn’t se possible to “stop” in front and unload because you are stopping in the street. We did find parking pretty far away and luckily it was legal to park there. I don’t “think” we went into the ZLT but not sure. The hotel staff was amazing and very helpful..,just know where you are going to and can park if you have a car!

We had a clean, comfortable room with the most wonderful view over the old city. We slept very well. The hotel is in a great location for visiting the historic centre and the bus stop/terminal are nearby A kettle and cups were provided, as requested, but there were no wine glasses in room. However there was a fridge. We loved the exceptionally friendly and helpful reception and cleaning staff, especially Lorenzo, who helped with advice about trips etc Good selection at breakfast

One morning there was a photographer and her assistant with all their gear arranging photos during breakfast service, which made it tricky to get to the food without tripping over a tripod! There were crumbs on some surfaces in the dining room that didn’t move during the time we were staying there. Marble floors and thin doors meant that it had the potential to be noisy, though our neighbours were mostly considerate. There are lots of stairs (but this is made clear before you book) and wasn't a problem for us, as Lorenzo helped with our luggage

The hotel is perfectly placed on the edge of the pedestrian zone. Although there is on-street parking, we used the private parking space which was very reasonable and got rid of the stress of searching for a space. The staff were extremely helpful and our room was fine. We ate the first night at the restaurant and had an excellent meal. Siena is a beautiful place, far less crowded than nearby Florence and the hotel was an excellent base.

Room a little dark and it took us a while to work out the air conditioning, but really nothing to complain about

Loved the breakfast selection! We liked the separate area in the bedroom. Outside patio was lovely. Front desk staff during the weekdays were wonderful - charming and very helpful. Location was superb! Very pleasant hotel ambiance and decor.

Front desk staff during weekend were not helpful. Housekeeping were unable to provide us with procelain coffee mugs. 2 were provided in room for 4 adults. No drinking glasses - only plastic cups. Min fridge did not work. Telephone to outside line did not work. Sink in bathroom seemed clogged and when we requested unplugging were told it was the weekend and no help was available. Also the batheroom was extremely small. Hairdryer not impressive.
