Lovely hotel in a beatuful village in a scenic valley. Good spot, great breakfast, friendly helpful staff - they gave us great advice to take the amazing scenic route over the mountains towards Bergen rather than the very long tunnel. Thanks for that.

This is not family but rather a pretty big hotel. Nevertheless, that's a good place to stay. It is located in the centre of small and beautiful town but no worries about noise. The room was big enough and clean - as always in Norway. There is a shop just the opposite site of the street. The town is very beautiful. Surrounded with high mountains. Must to have: Great surprise for us were wooden colourful charming buildings - don't miss a walk to see them . Very good starting point to go to Flam (40min.by car) or the Snow Road. We had to leave the hotel in the early morning. Anyway, the staff was so nice and prepared us breakfast to take away. I strongly recommend a walk through the town, a stay at this hotel if you think about Flambana trip, and/or the Snow Road

The location is brilliant, especially if you're arriving by bus. Our room looked out over the back of the historic old town with the mountains in the distance and to the side we could see a beautiful waterfall. The town was quiet, which s just what we needed and there was a supermarket directly opposite the hotel entrance to get essentials, snacks etc. We were in the more modern building which was absolutely to my taste. The lounge is a beautiful, relaxing space with a mix of antique and mid century furniture. Breakfast was lovely and we were introduced to a new cheese! The staff were all faultlessly and genuinely lovely and so helpful. We stayed two nights and wished we could have stayed longer. It was such a relaxing stay.

An absolutely wonderful hotel with its own unique history and character. The location is excellent – close to everything yet peaceful. Everything was spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful, making us feel truly at home. Breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of fresh and delicious options. The atmosphere of the hotel has a special charm that makes you want to stay longer. It’s the kind of place you’ll remember fondly and want to return to.

This was our favorite hotel of the trip. It's in a very charming small town and the staff was so friendly and welcoming. We had the most delicious salmon for dinner and the breakfast was unbelievable. When one of the waiters saw me getting GF granola, he offered GF bread but said it would be a few minutes. I assumed they were heating up a frozen slice but I was delighted to watch him deliver a freshly baked small loaf of GF bread to my table. Amazing customer service!

It is a very small town so there are limited options for dining. Luckily, there is an excellent restaurant on site!

Great hospitality by the owners and their dedicated team. Good restaurant in the hotel and fair value for money. The hotel looks modest from the outside, but the inside is of a great quality, for whom it may make a difference, many of the furniture is by famous Scandinavian designers and architects, which adds to the feeling of quality. The nearby swiss style house has amazing atmosphere and great rooms. We loved every minute!

Room faced West so afternoon sun turned my room into an oven, even with curtains closed. Room was directly above back alley and dumpster so lots of noise from people on smoke breaks, delivery trucks, etc.

Knut was the perfect host! As a fifth generation hotelier, his friendly welcome and willingness to share his knowledge of the area was so appreciated. We found the family farm, thanks to Knut's books and careful explanation of naming conventions of the past century. The mid-century modern lobby was welcoming and the restaurant's farm based food options were delicious, presented beautifully by smiling servers. It felt like coming home....in a very good way..

It would have been nice to have a view of the Sognefjord, but it was just a short walk through the charming village.

Great place to stay in Lærdalsøyri. Easy walk to old town, grocery stores, etc.. My room was just what i needed, had a great view from a large picture window, and the staff were phenomenal. The owners were very kind, answered my questions without hesitation, and gave me some additional tips on the area. Breakfast service was great as well -- the head waitress made sure I ate well!

Breakfast is ok, and it really feels like everyone is doing their best. They offer you fresh eggs and smoothies in the morning, make sure that everything at the buffett is filled up. The atmosphere in the lobby with the fire place is nice. Rooms are big, water pressure good, it is really quiet during the night, and there are 2 supermarkets in really short walking distance. Only 40 minutes away by car from Flam, which is why we stayed here.

Hotel is definately outdated, amenities are on the low side. The biggest issue is the wifi, which is weak to unstable in the rooms. It is good in the lobby.
